Abstract

Creativity and environmental awareness are two important aspects that need to be instilled from an early age through a fun and meaningful learning approach. One effective strategy in early childhood learning is the use of art activities, such as finger painting, combined with creative recycling practices. This study aims to describe the implementation of finger painting as a learning medium for creative recycling at Sirajudin Islamic Kindergarten. The research method used was action research (direct practice) with a qualitative descriptive approach. Finger painting was applied in the activity of decorating used items such as cigarette cans to make attractive and functional pencil cases. The results showed that this activity was able to increase children's enthusiasm, creativity, and active participation in the learning process. In addition, children began to understand the concept of reusing waste as a valuable resource and demonstrated a sense of responsibility towards the surrounding environment. This activity also made a positive contribution to the development of fine motor skills, the ability to recognize colors and textures, and the strengthening of religious values such as cleanliness and social awareness. Thus, recycling-based finger painting not only supports children's cognitive and motor aspects but also forms character and sustainable environmental awareness from an early age

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Platelets play an important role in the pathophysiology of ischemic stroke by causing thrombus formation in blood vessels after erosion or rupture of atherosclerotic plaque, however their role in hemorrhagic stroke is still not fully understood. Aim: The aim of this study was to analyze the differences in platelet indices between ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. Methods: This study is a comparative analytical study with retrospective cross-sectional approach conducted at RSUDZA, Aceh Province, using medical records. A total of 76 ischemic and 44 hemorrhagic stroke patients in 2023 were involved in this study. Platelet count MPV, and PDW examinations are carried out at the time of admission. By Mann Whitney analysis, the differences of platelet indices on was determined. Results: There were significant differences in platelet count (ischemic stroke: 294.50 x 103/mm3; hemorrhagic stroke: 238.50 x 103/mm3, p= 0.01, CI 95%) and MPV (ischemic stroke: 9.50 fL; hemorrhagic stroke: 8.10 fL, p= 0.04, CI 95%). However, no differences was found with PDW (ischemic stroke: 10.95 fL; hemorrhagic stroke: 10.50 fL, p= 0.265, CI 95%). Discussion: There are differences in platelet indices in ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke groups, where the MPV and platelet count are higher in ischemic stroke. An increase in platelet count and MPV is more likely to cause ischemic stroke and conversely a decrease in platelet count and MPV is more likely to cause hemorrhagic stroke. Excessive platelet activation leads to increased thrombin generation and the potential for abnormal intravascular thrombus formation.

Abstract

AbstractMisuse of drugs (BKO) in traditional medicinal preparation is still often found. This practice is prohibited by Indonesia’s law and can harm users. Malfeasance behind this problem makes law enforcement and control a crucial factor in handling it. Analysis of BKO requires a reliable method that detects the presence of various BKOs that may be added to the preparation. In this study, Prednisone, Paracetamol, Dexamethasone, Meloxicam, and Piroxicam were detected using thin-layer chromatography–densitometry. Elution was carried out using chloroform:methanol (9:1) on silica stationary phase observed at 240 nm and 246 nm. Plates then analyzed using tlc-scanner (densitometry) to acquire area under curve of each analyte. The method is capable of detecting the presence of BKO with concentration of 6,5 ppm (Prednisone), 3,0 ppm (Paracetamol), 1,8 ppm (Dexamethasone), 5,9 ppm (Meloxicam), 8,0 ppm (Piroxicam) in test solution. The proposed validated method is capable to analyze 5 common chemical impurities often found in traditional drug preparation. Analysis can be done simultaneously using simple method hence it is suitable to used as a tool to screen impurities in traditional medicine.
