Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research aims to describe or provide an initial picture of the level of critical thinking skills of junior high school students on the subject of research and its changes in South Sumatra identfy and analyze preliminary studies of students critical thinking skills. Methodology: The methodology of this study is survey- quantitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques was carried out through critical thinking skill questions of matter and their changes. The research location is at Junior High School 1 Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatera. This Study sample consist of 139 Class 7 Students. Main Findings: The findings of this study of critical thinking skill average were Class 7A had an average percentage of 28.73% in the low category, class 7B had an average percentage of 61.83% in the high category, class 7C had an average percentage of 43.43% in the sufficient category, and class 7E had an average percentage of 32.32% in the low category. Overall, the average critical thinking skills of students was 41.34% in the sufficient category. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research lies in the contribution of the research to students' skills in answering critical thinking questions on the concept of matter and its changes. The findings can provide new insights in the context of education and researchers to develop appropriate methods and strategies to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research aims to analyze the needs of students in learning physics related to energy literacy by utilizing the potential of waterfalls as a reference for developing e-modules in Edupark. Methodology: The methodology of this study is survey- quantitative descriptive research. Data collection through questionnaires given to respondents using google form. The research location is at Senior High School 1 Prabumulih, Senior High School 04 Ogan Komering Ulu, Senior High School 1 Merapi Timur, Senior High School 6 Prabumulih, Senior High School 1 Makarti Jaya, Senior High School 1 Bayung Lencir, Senior High School 10 Palembang, Senior High School 2 Palembang, Senior High School 1 Unggulan Muara Enim. Main Findings: The findings of this study tentang Do you think physics is a difficult subject to learn percentage 64%, Have you ever visited a waterfall before percentage 50,1%, Have you ever been taught energy related concepts on waterfalls percentage 31,5%, Have you ever been taught using E-Modules related to waterfall eduparks percentage 51%, Have you ever heard of hydropower before percentage 87,1%, Do you agree that hydropower can provide more stable energy than other renewable energy sources percentage 89,1%. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this study lies in the e-module associated with the waterfall edupark towards students' energy literacy. The findings can provide new insights in the context of education and researchers to develop appropriate innovations to improve e-modules.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran menjadi kebutuhan mendesak bagi guru agar mampu menghadirkan pembelajaran yang kreatif, menarik, dan relevan dengan tuntutan Kurikulum Merdeka. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi guru SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya dalam membuat video animasi pembelajaran berbantuan AI melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan terstruktur. Metode kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan teknis, workshop pembuatan video, pendampingan implementasi, serta evaluasi pre-test dan post-test. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan literasi digital guru dengan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,70 kategori sedang. Dari kegiatan ini, para guru menyatakan membuktikan bahwa integrasi AI membuat proses pembuatan media pembelajaran lebih efektif dan efisien dan meningkatkan kreativitas guru.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to develop and validate a Rasch Model-based energy knowledge, attitude, and behavior assessment instrument to measure energy literacy among high school students. Methodology: The research design followed the stages of theory-based instrument development and the Rasch modeling approach. The quantitative approach and instrument development process were carried out through the stages of item preparation based on literature review and theoretical indicators, validation by experts, and field testing of 50 participants. Main Findings: The knowledge instrument has high quality, obtained as much as 9 data showing a fit for the Rasch model, such as MNSQ infit and outfit values ranging from 0.84 to 1.25. and positive point measure correlations. Instrument reliability shows infit and outfit results that are still within the ideal tolerance range, obtained sequentially the person reliability values of knowledge, attitude, and behavior of 0.50, 0.76 and 0.75. So that the instrument is suitable for accurate and consistent measurement. Novelty/Originality of this study: this study provides innovation in the energy literacy measurement literature (knowledge, attitude, and behavior) with an in-depth evaluation of item performance and respondent ability distribution using empirical and applicable methods for the development of evidence-based and Rasch model-based assessment instruments.

Abstract

Socioscientific Issues (SSI) integration in science education connects scientific concepts with complex real-world problems while fostering students’ scientific argumentation skills. This systematic review examines SSI integration in science learning, its contribution to students’ scientific argumentation, and the role of digital learning resources.The review followed PRISMA 2020 guidelines and analyzed empirical studies published between 2020 and 2025. Literature searches were conducted in October 2025 using Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Taylor & Francis Online with Boolean operators such as (“socioscientific issues” AND “scientific argumentation”). From an initial pool of 800 articles, 36 studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed through thematic synthesis. The findings reveal four dominant SSI integration patterns: scientific discuSSIon and debate, problem- and project-based learning, evidence-based decision-making, and digital instructional media. SSI integration consistently strengthens structural and dialogic argumentation, evidence evaluation, complexity-based reasoning, and consideration of ethical and social dimensions. However, studies integrating SSI into digital instructional resources remain limited. Teacher competence, argumentative scaffolding, and contextual issue relevance were identified as key supporting factors, while limited instructional materials and curriculum pressure became major barriers. These findings provide an empirical foundation for developing SSI-based science instruction and digital learning resources that support scientific argumentation in 21st-century education.
