Abstract

Abstract

The Gumarang Akbar Syariah Mataram Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSPPS) is an institution that manages zakat and waqf funds for the welfare of the people. This study aims to determine the process of cash waqf management and to determine the effectiveness of cash waqf management at KSPPS Gumarang Akbar Syariah Mataram. The type of research used is qualitative with a descriptive approach and the data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the waqf implemented by KSPPS Gumarang Akbar Syariah Mataram is in the form of cash waqf. In collecting waqf funds, the proceeds from collecting waqf money are used for empowerment/economic welfare of the people and for social-religious activities. And the management of cash waqf carried out by KSPPS Gumarang Akbar Syariah Mataram has not been implemented effectively because the funds managed are still very minimal. And if seen from the regulations BWI Regulation Number 1 of 2009 concerning guidelines for the management and development of movable waqf assets in the form of money, they are still carried out in a simple manner or have not been implemented in accordance with these guidelines.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), as traditional centers of Islamic education, are increasingly confronted with the challenges posed by modernization, particularly in the domain of financial technology. In response, PPSM Thohir Yasin implemented an electronic payment system utilizing smart card technology through its affiliated business unit, Thohir Yasin Mart. This study aimed to examine the influence of electronic payment, lifestyle, and financial literacy on the consumptive behavior of Madrasah Aliyah (MA) students at PPSM Thohir Yasin. Employing a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional survey method, data were collected from 300 students selected through stratified purposive sampling based on class level, gender, and residential status. Structured, closed-ended questionnaires were disseminated online during the pesantren’s Ramadan holiday in 2025. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25, incorporating validity and reliability testing, classical assumption checks, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicated that electronic payment exerted a negative and significant influence on consumptive behavior (t = -8.760; p < 0.001), lifestyle demonstrated a positive and significant impact (t = 5.719; p < 0.001), while financial literacy had a positive but statistically non-significant effect (t = 1.682; p = 0.094). Collectively, the three variables significantly influenced consumptive behavior (p < 0.001), explaining 29.8% of the variance (R² = 0.298). The study concludes that lifestyle is the most influential factor driving students’ consumptive behavior, whereas financial literacy does not yet exert a substantial effect. These findings underscore the need for pesantren-based policies that promote responsible electronic transactions and strengthen financial education in alignment with Islamic values.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the conception of Central Javanese students on fluid pressure. The survey was conducted in Central Java involving 515 participants (eight grade students about 14 years old) consisting of 177 males and 338 females. The instrument consists of six questions in a four-tier format about fluid pressure and is distributed via Microsoft Form. The analysis was carried out with Rasch analysis and percentages with six categories of conceptions: CU (Conceptual Understanding); PP (Partial Plus); PM (Partial Minus); NU (No Understanding); MC (Misconception); and NC (No Coding). The Rasch analysis shows the Cronbach alpha is 0.68 (Enough) and the distribution of students' conceptions of fluid pressure forms a normal curve. Meanwhile, bias was not found for gender problems in answering the questions. The percentage of the result are: CU (17%), PP (4%), PM (39%), NU (13%), MC (27%), and NC (0%). This indicates that students' conceptions are still dominated by PM and MC categories. Students in the PM category have good characteristics but lack self-confidence. While the MC category is an unexpected result because students are confident in their answers that are wrong or not in accordance with scientific conceptions. Thus, further action is needed to overcome students' misconceptions. Keywords: Students' Conceptions, Fluid Pressure, Rasch Analysis

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of project-based learning integrated with STEM (PjBL-STEM) using online games to enhance critical thinking skills among junior high school students on the topic of energy and its changes. A mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design was used in this study. The quantitative phase involved pretests and posttests using a standardized critical thinking skills test, while the qualitative phase included observations of student activities during learning. This study was conducted at SMP Negeri 03 Belitang Madang Raya, involving eighth-grade students divided into experimental and control groups in the odd semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. The experimental group (32 students) implemented the PjBL-STEM model using Minecraft Education, while the control group (23 students) received conventional instruction. Data analysis included Rasch modeling for pretest and posttest results, N-gain calculations to measure learning effectiveness, and thematic analysis of observation data to assess student engagement and application of STEM concepts. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the experimental group's critical thinking skills, with an N-gain score of 0.60 (effective category) compared to 0.04 (less effective category) in the control group. Projects such as wind, hydroelectric, and solar power plants, developed in Minecraft Education, highlighted students' ability to integrate scientific knowledge, engineering principles, and teamwork. Observations showed active engagement and collaboration among experimental group students during the project design and implementation phases, which were absent in the control group. This study demonstrates that integrating online games into PjBL-STEM provides an effective approach to enhancing 21st-century skills. The results underscore the potential for adapting this model to diverse educational settings and materials. However, differences in students' technological skills remain challenging, suggesting additional support and scaffolding.         Keywords: critical thinking skills, energy, minecraft education, online games, PjBL-STEM DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v25i3.pp1361-1377
