Abstract

Traditional songs are a form of cultural heritage that carry moral, social, and spiritual messages, while also reflecting the identity of a community. This study aims to analyze the Javanese traditional song Lir-Ilir using the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach based on Norman Fairclough's model, in order to uncover its symbolic meanings, usage context, and its connection to ideology and social transformation within Javanese society. The song Lir-Ilir, believed to have been created by Sunan Kalijaga, not only functions as a medium for Islamic da'wah (preaching), but also as a tool for character education and the preservation of local culture. This research employs a qualitative method with the primary data source being the lyrics of the song Lir-Ilir in Javanese and its translation. The analysis is conducted through three dimensions: the text dimension, the discourse practice dimension, and the social practice dimension. The findings of this study show that the song contains Sufi symbols and Islamic values such as calls for self-reflection, the enhancement of faith, and the importance of fulfilling religious duties. The lyrics in the song reflect cultural syncretism, as seen in the use of agrarian metaphors such as “tandure wus sumilir” and “penekno blimbing kuwi”, which convey Islamic messages while remaining grounded in Javanese cultural expressions. This illustrates how Islamic values are subtly embedded through local symbols, resulting in a form of acculturation that avoids cultural resistance. To this day, Lir-Ilir remains socially and culturally relevant as a medium for teaching spiritual values and local wisdom, as well as serving as an effective example of how moral messages can be conveyed through art that adapts to the times.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe teachers’ and students’ perceptions about E-learning used in Minhah's class at the Markaz Arabiyah Arabic course institution. Technological progress is necessary and affects all aspects of life, including education. The influence of technological advancement can be found in the emergence of e-learning as an interactive learning media innovation that can be utilized in realizing active, innovative and independent learning and not only supporting students in mastering materials but also accelerating students in mastering 21st-century learning competencies. E-learning is becoming the right choice to realize effective distance learning. The method used in this research was a survey research method with a quantitative approach. Data were collected using observation techniques, questionnaires, and literature studies. The results showed that the Markaz Arabiyah e-learning used in learning at the Minhah Mesir Program was categorized as good in the visual aspect and quite good in the media engineering aspect, with an average percentage for the visual aspect of 79.2% and for the media engineering aspect of 71%. These results indicated that e-learning had a good appearance and features adjusted to progress technology and students' needs in accessing practice questions. However, regarding content and material aspects, Markaz Arabiyah was in a bad category with an average percentage score of 44% each. The category was not good for both indicators because the Markaz Arabiyah e-learning did not yet contain material and was only used as a learning evaluation media.

Abstract

The problem in this study it is the reason why Prophet Khidr repeated his words -You will not patient with me -  to the prophet Moses, even though the prophet Moses was known as the intelligent prophet. This research uses the theory of ijaz and ithnab (brevity and redundancy) in the science of rhetoric. This theory finds abbreviated word types and extended word types. This research uses a qualitative approach that is descriptive through a literature review. Researcher found there are sixteen ijaz sentences including sentences by removing related sentences, five sentences by removing adjectives, one sentence by removing letters, one sentence by removing dispersed words, one sentence by removing the divine predicate, one sentence miracle of delivering sentences. The four ithnab sentences that the researcher found are as follows. First, the expressive sentences by mentioning special sentences after mentioning general sentences that serve to emphasize specific sentences. Secondly, the redundancy sentence is the appendix by bringing up the second sentence which is similar to the first sentence that intends to emphasize the idea of the sentence. Third, verbosity sentences that use the inclusion allowance that serve to explain the previous sentence and which are not yet clear. Fourth, verbosity and repetition sentences that work to persuade the other person to accept the advice. The reason why ‘Abd’ repeated his words to the prophet Moses was not because Moses was stupid, but because of Prophet Moses' spirit in seeking knowledge and allowing him to continue searching for guidance with the ‘Abd’.Keywords: Advice, Repetition, Spirit.

Abstract

The emergence of psycho-literature study is in line with the relation between psychology and literature. Psychoanalysis theory used in this study was the theory of Sigmund Freud to examine the character of Yusuf. This theory distinguished three kinds of personality; they are id, ego, and superego. This research investigated Yusuf's behavior in the context of citizenship. The story of Yusuf is determined as the best story from the aspect of its styles, contents, and objectives. This story was begun with the dream of Yusuf, sunk into the well, sold to Egyptian merchant, flirted by the wife of his merchant, found by his family, and the lessons of his story. In its relation to Islam, superego in the theory of Freud should be aimed to Islamic values. The principle of tauhid should always be in mind, so when bed desire comes to a moslem, then that principle will be the savior. Psycho-literature interdisciplinary study uncovers psychological aspects of Yusuf to take the lessons for the society.DOI: 10.24865/ajas.v1i2.13

Abstract

Idealistic philosophy positions reason, morality, and the human mind as the highest forms of reality. Within this philosophical framework, teachers hold a central role as ethical exemplars and intellectual guides who shape students’ character and behavior. This systematic literature review aims to synthesize scholarly perspectives on the roles, responsibilities, and expected characteristics of teachers according to idealistic philosophy. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study examined 16 relevant national and international articles published within the last decade. The analysis followed qualitative procedures involving data reduction, organization, and thematic interpretation. The findings reveal that teachers, from the viewpoint of idealistic philosophy, embody three essential dimensions: (1) Teacher obligations, which include moral superiority, mastery of knowledge, and the ability to foster active and meaningful learning; (2) Teacher responsibilities, involving guiding students’ intellectual growth, instilling ethical values, and ensuring that knowledge is translated into action; and (3) Teacher personality, encompassing integrity, intellectual excellence, communicative competence, and continuous self-development. Overall, this review highlights that idealistic philosophy emphasizes teachers as role models whose moral and intellectual authority significantly influences educational practice and student development.
