Abstract

This study aims to improve the narrative writing skills of Class V students through the use of video media. This study is action research conducted at SDN Malaka Jaya 07 Pagi East Jakarta. The subjects of the study were Class V students, amounting to 31 students. The research was divided into two cycles (after the pre-cycle), each cycle having two and three meetings. The data analysis technique was performed by using a qualitative descriptive technique. The success of this study is seen from two criteria, namely from the observation sheet after applying video utilization and from the increasing results of narrative writing skills. The study results obtained from the use of video are to make students active in finding information and making writing and skilled at developing and utilizing their own knowledge. It is hoped that the improvement in the skills to write narration will be clearly seen in the initial cycle and increase in cycle 2 (Two). This can be seen from the initial percentage. Students who are not yet skilled or not enthusiastic/interested in writing narration by 49%, then the percentage of results in the first cycle (second meeting) is 40% and at the end of the second cycle, (third meeting) students who are not interested write only 11%. Overall at the end of the second cycle all aspects and criteria for narrative writing experienced a significant increase.

Abstract

This study’s finding is religious polarization confirming the Identity of Lombok Islamic Societies emerging since before Indonesia’s independence by taking the religious movement form. Mainstream religious movement in Lombok is Sunni one and not all of them are under organizational flag, but generally based on educational institution. Minority non-sunni movement brought an effect and wahabi movement pattern emphasizing on “the differentiation” of religious practice, so that it is not ideological wrestling but identity contestation that occurs. Then, religiosity identity of Lombok Islamic societies is material-symbolic and accommodative in nature. The accommodative religious practice occurs in tasawwuf practices and encounters acculturation as the identity of Lombok Muslim. Islamic religious Identity in Lombok Sunni has been existing long before the development of religious organization and educational institution, so that the Sasak Islamic Identity encountered acculturation as the result of natural constructi on of Lombok Islamic societies. Organizational diversity, movement, and identity solidification can be a wealth as long as it is not debated in the public space

Abstract

Contamination of  heavy metals on the soil leads to an increase in its acidity. Vermicompost application is commonly used to improve the properties of soil. The study was carried out to determine the reduction of the acidity in Pb and Cd contaminated soils under the application of vermicompost. Two laboratory experiments were set using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor was soil samples, vis Inceptisols, and Entisols, and the second factor was the rates of vermicompost, consisted of 0, 5, 10, 15 g kg-1. The treatment combination was repeated three times. The soils were pretreated with 10 mg kg-1 Pb or Cd using Pb(NO3)2 and Cd(NO3)2. Three hundred kg soil sample was incorporated with vermicompost and placed in a 500 ml plastic bottle. The mixtures were incubated for eight weeks, and the moisture of the soil was maintained at field capacity. The acidity and soil temperature were monitored every week. The study indicated that Pb contaminated soil acidity increased to the sixth week of the incubation and decreased afterward. However, the acidity of Cd contaminated soil was consistently increased during the incubation. Treatment of vermicompost significantly lowered the acidity of both Pb and Cd contaminated soils. Contaminated Entisols had a higher response to the application of vermicompost than that of Inceptisols. This finding is significant in assessing acidity risk and possible management intervention for Pb and Cd contaminated soils.

Abstract

Introduction: Salt produced using seawater is one of the topics discussed in the concept of blue economy. Blue economy refers to sustainable management in the maritime sector. Blue economy is in line with the Islamic economic system in its application because it is not only profit-oriented but also prioritises environmental sustainability for sustainable economic activities. This article discusses salt management in one of the regions in Madura known as Kampung Garam. The purpose of this study is to provide a deeper understanding of the blue economy in the salt sector from an Islamic economic perspective in Kampung Garam. Methods: This study used a qualitative descriptive method by conducting direct observation, interviews, and documentation with salt farmers and land managers. Results: The results of the study indicate that management in Kampung Garam has begun to meet four blue economy indicators, namely efficient use of natural resources, zero waste, social awareness, and diverse income streams. Conclusion and suggestion: However, salt management in Kampung Garam can still be improved to have a more significant impact on the community in Kampung Garam.

Abstract

This study discusses the response of da'i in the city of Mataram related to the discourse on certification of Friday prayer preachers which was commissioned by the government in 2017. This study used qualitative methods. In-depth interview towards da'i and Jumat prayer preachers was utilized to collect the data to answer the focus of the research. The findings of this study revealed that currently the khatib certification is not necessary. This is because there is no strong evidence that has shown the radicalization occurs in Mataram resulted from Friday sermon. However, the respondents emphasized the importance of standardization of all aspects of religion, especially on aspects of the mosque management and religious institutional management under the guidance of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion and Islamic community organizations.

Abstract

The development of organic sweet corn varieties is ideally addressed to have a good adaptation to a variety of environmental conditions. This study aims to evaluate the performance of 17 sweet corn hybrids, consisting of 15 promising hybrids and 2 commercial hybrids grown organically in the highlands. The study was conducted in Batu City, East Java (1160 m above sea level) and arranged in a completely randomized block design with three replications. Evaluation was carried out on growth performance, productivity, and yield quality. The findings of the study showed that all tested hybrids exhibited good growth performance, as indicated by robust plant and a lot of leave. Nevertheless, Caps 2 x Caps 22, Caps 5 x Caps 17B, Caps 17B x Caps 23, and Caps 22 x Caps 23, respectively, emerged as the best hybrids in terms of overall growth performance. In terms of the productivity and quality of the ears produced, the hybrids Caps 5 x Caps 17B, Caps 5 x Caps 22, Caps 15 x Caps 17A, Caps 17A x Caps 17B, and Caps 17B x Caps 22 demonstrated their superiority in ear yields while meeting all established market quality standards. These findings suggest that, for orgnic production, these five hybrids can serve as the alternative for commercial varieties adressed for conventional production.  Further evaluation on the yield stability across environmental conditions is needed to  make these hybrids more predictable and dependable for the organic growers.
