Abstract

This study aims to analyze the principal's leadership strategy in improving teacher professionalism in SLB Negeri 1 Makassar City. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, data were collected through interviews, observations and documentation from various related parties. The results showed that principals play an important role in improving teacher professionalism to support quality education for students with special needs. The leadership strategies implemented include specialized training, implementing effective teaching methods and developing an adaptive curriculum according to students' needs. Principals play the role of educator, leader, manager, motivator and supervisor, which is realized in efforts to improve teacher professionalism. Supporting factors include the high level of education of teaching staff (S1 to S3), dedication, discipline, and adequate facilities. The obstacle faced is the lack of competence of some teachers in IT knowledge. The implication is that school principals are expected to be more dedicated in creating a conducive educational environment, routinely monitoring and evaluating the learning process, and improving infrastructure. Teachers are expected to carry out their obligations as educators well, and continue to improve their professional, social, pedagogical and personality competencies to achieve educational goals

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a mangrove plant morphology atlas based on the local potential of the Puntondo Takalar Center for Environmental Education (PPLH Puntondo Takalar) as a supplementary teaching material for the Grade 10 high school Plantae topic that meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects comprised 26 Grade 10 students and one biology teacher in a limited trial conducted at a senior high school in Takalar Regency. Data were collected through observation, interviews, needs analysis questionnaires, expert validation sheets, response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The results showed that the developed atlas included nine mangrove species identified through field observations, presented systematically based on morphological characteristics and distribution locations. The atlas was supplemented with field photographs, identification keys, distribution maps, and observation tasks that support environment-based learning and scientific literacy. Expert validation results yielded an average score of 3.6, categorized as highly valid. The practicality test indicated a positive response rate of 92% from both the teacher and students, categorized as highly practical. The effectiveness test showed that classical learning mastery reached 100%, with all students achieving scores above the minimum mastery criterion (KKM). Therefore, this mangrove plant morphology atlas based on local potential is feasible for use as a supplementary teaching material and has the potential to support contextual biology learning while enhancing students’ biodiversity literacy.

Abstract

lt;span lang=quot;EN-USquot;gt;Improving students’ comprehension in the Arabic language requires educators to design effective learning programs. However, implementation in the field still faces challenges such as low student interest and motivation, as well as suboptimal achievement of program objectives. This study aims to evaluate the Wazan Sharaf memorization program at Ma’had Hasan bin Ali Samarinda based on the four aspects of the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). The research employed a Mixed-Method Research (MMR) approach with first- and second-semester students as subjects. Data collection instruments included interview guidelines, observation, and tests, all validated by an external validator. The findings show that, in the context aspect, the program’s objectives and background align with the vision and mission of the Ma’had. In the input aspect, learning facilities are considered adequate, with the material sourced from lt;emgt;Mengenal Ilmu Sharaf Lebih Dekatlt;/emgt;, and instructors are deemed competent despite not graduating from Arabic Language Education programs. The process aspect reveals systematic learning implementation, though constrained by low memorization interest and limited time. The product aspect indicates improved student ability in understanding Wazan Sharaf. Recommendations include formalizing the program through official documentation, increasing learning time, utilizing technology, and strengthening material mastery.lt;/spangt; MARKER_1778183330

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the process of holistic education based learning programs at SMAIT Al-Fityan School Gowa. The research focuses on learning development, learning integration, teacher strategies, student responses, learning interactions, and the use of methods. This study employs an evaluative research design using a mixed-methods approach with an explanatory sequential design. Quantitative data collection and analysis were conducted first through the distribution of questionnaires to 30 students, followed by qualitative data collection through interviews with 3 teachers and 6 students to gain a more comprehensive understanding. The findings indicate that the evaluation of the holistic education-based learning program at SMAIT Al-Fityan School Gowa showed that 73.3% of the outcomes were at the “sufficiently achieved” or “fairly good” level. The learning process has developed students’ knowledge, attitudes, skills, and character; integrated various dimensions of holistic education namely intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual dimensions; employed varied learning strategies; created a pleasant classroom atmosphere; and strengthened student interactions. However, the implementation of the learning process still faces challenges, particularly in developing students’ skills, integrating physical aspects, and maintaining consistency in learning strategies. This study concludes that holistic education-based learning is important to implement in the classroom because it emphasizes the holistic and integrated development of students, encompassing intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, and physical aspects. This approach views the learning process not merely as the transfer of knowledge, but as the process of forming the whole person, which takes place within specific social, cultural, and value systems.
