Abstract

Data analysis is essential for gaining insights and making informed decisions. A crutial step in data analysis is data processing, which involves preparing and filtering raw data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and structure. While Microsoft Excel is commonly used for data processing, it is susceptible to human errors and has limitations in handling large datasets. Python provides an alternative by automating data processing through scripts executed by the interpreter. The superior software for data processing is obtained by comparing the computer resource utilization based on statistical theory approach, Wilcoxon signed-rank test. This test is appropriate because it does not require the assumption of a normal distribution, providing flexibility in comparing computer resource utilization between Microsoft Excel and Python. Microsoft Excel and Python proceed *.csv and *.xlsx files, then Task Manager recorded the data of computer resource utilization for each processing step. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test analyzes the data and evaluating two hypotheses. H0 (there is no any significant differences in computer resource utilization between Microsoft Excel and Python are calculated for each data processing) and H1 (there is significant differences in computer resource utilization between Microsoft Excel and Python are calculated for each data processing). The sum of ranks in Wilcoxon test are compared to the critical value from the Wilcoxon distribution table to determine the accepted hypothesis. Based on the Wilcoxon test results, hypothesis H1 is accepted, indicating a significant difference in computer resource utilization between Microsoft Excel and Python.

Abstract

The Kayu Arang River represents a natural habitat with potential for the sustainable exploitation of the giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). High consumer demand has led to increased harvesting pressure in the wild. The captured prawns exhibit a wide size range, from small to large individuals. Therefore, it is essential to consider size eligibility in harvesting to ensure long-term resource sustainability. This study aimed to analyze the size distribution, catch eligibility, length–weight relationship, and condition factor of M. rosenbergii in the Kayu Arang River. Field sampling was conducted in September 2023 using handline fishing gear at 20 designated stations. Results showed that male prawns ranged from 11.10 to 25.70 cm in total length, with dominant catch sizes between 13.90–15.70 cm and 15.80–17.60 cm. Female prawns ranged from 10.10 to 17.70 cm, with a dominant size class of 12.00–13.80 cm. Legally catchable males were found at stations 1, 2, 6, 9, 10, and 12; females at stations 7, 8, 9, and 12. The length–weight relationship for males followed the equation W = 0.0081L³.1682 (N = 100; R² = 0.9116), indicating positive allometric growth, while females followed W = 0.0142L².9401 (N = 110; R² = 0.6533), indicating negative allometric growth. The condition factor ranged from 0.59 to 1.75 for males (mean: 1.02) and 0.53 to 1.89 for females (mean: 1.04), suggesting that most individuals were in healthy condition.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has encouraged Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to adapt to digital systems to increase the efficiency and competitiveness of their businesses. This community service activity aims to support the digitization process at Toko Vyta, an MSME located in Sorong City, Southwest Papua, through the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)-based information system using the Odoo platform. This activity is carried out with a method that includes direct observation of business processes, interviews with store owners, training on the use of the Odoo system, technical assistance during the implementation process, as well as social and religious reflection to see the impact of digital transformation from the perspective of local community values. The results of the activity show that the implementation of the Odoo system is able to increase efficiency in managing stock of goods, recording sales transactions, and service to customers. Business owners find it helpful in monitoring business activities in real-time, reducing manual recording errors, and increasing service speed. From the perspective of the sociology of religion, the application of digital technology does not contradict the religious and social values of society, but rather strengthens the principles of honest, transparent, and responsible business. Collaboration between students from the Information Systems and Sociology study programs provides an interdisciplinary contribution that enriches understanding of the dynamics of social change in the context of technology. This experience proves that the success of MSME digitalization is not only determined by technological aspects, but also by the ability to integrate social, cultural, and religious approaches in every stage of transformation. Therefore, the digitalization of MSMEs based on local values is an important strategy to be widely implemented in supporting the sustainable economic empowerment of the community.

Abstract

The research investigates the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on stock returns in the mining sector of Indonesia. The study examines data from financial reports and annual reports of 37 Indonesian companies listed on the stock exchange between 2017 and 2021. The research measures stock return using various factors, including corporate social responsibility, firm age, firm size, return on equity (ROE), and return on assets (ROA). The results reveal that there is a significant positive relationship between ROA and stock return. However, firm age shows a significant negative relationship with stock return, whereas firm size, ROE, and CSR do not have a significant effect. The research findings contribute to the existing literature by suggesting that in Indonesia, investors do not consider CSR as a key factor when making investment decisions since they are not particularly interested in the CSR activities undertaken by companies.
