Abstract

Tanaman wijen ialah salah satu tanaman penghasil minyak nabati yang mempunyai potensi agroindustri cerah khususnya aneka industri dan minyak makan (Mardjono, et al., 2007). Produksi wijen di Indonesia hanya 2.500 ton per tahun, sedangkan kebutuhan konsumsi dalam negeri mencapai 4.500 ton per tahun. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa hasil produksi wijen di dalam negeri lebih kecil dibandingkan tingkat konsumsinya (Anindita, 2007). Kendala utama dalam pengembangan wijen adalah rendahnya hasil panen. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan produktifitas yaitu dengan cara pemupukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk N, P, K dan pupuk kandang sapi serta interaksinya terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil wijen. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari sampai Juni 2013 di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya, Desa Jatikerto, Kec.Kromengan, Kab. Malang. Penelitian ini merupakan percobaan faktorial yang terdiri dari dua faktor yang disusun berdasarkan Rancangan Acak Kelompok yang terdiri dari 3 ulangan. Adapun perlakuannya sebagai berikut : faktor pertama yaitu pemberian dosis pupuk N, P dan K, faktor kedua yaitu pemberian dosis pupuk kandang sapi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk kandang sapi 1000 kg ha-1 dan pupuk anorganik 100 kg ha-1 Urea + 50 kg ha-1 SP-36 + 50 kg ha-1 KCl dapat meningkatkan hasil panen, jumlah polong jumlah biji per polong dan jumlah cabang per tanaman. Pemberian pupuk kandang kandang sapi 1500 kg ha-1 dan pupuk anorganik 150 kg ha-1 Urea + 100 kg ha-1 SP-36 +100 kg ha-1 KCl dapat meningkatkan berat kering total tanaman, bobot total biji per polong, bobot kering total gulma. Abstract

Pakcoy ialah sayuran yang digemari oleh masyarakat. Pupuk nitrogen dan kalium menentukan kualitas dan kuantitas hasil tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari pengaruh nitrogen dan kalium serta memperoleh dosis pupuk nitrogen dan kalium yang tepat agar diperoleh hasil panen pakcoy yang tinggi.  Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Bawang, Tunggulwulung, Malang pada bulan April–Mei 2015. Penelitian ini merupakan percobaan sederhana yang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan [N kg ha-1 (Urea) + K2O kg ha-1 (KCl) + K2O kg  ha-1 (KNO3 Merah)] yaitu: P1 [100 + 100 K2O (KCl)], P2 [100 +  75 + 25], P3 [100 + 50 + 50], P4 [100 + 25 + 75],      P5 [100 + 100 K2O (KNO3 Merah)],    P6 [75 + 100 K2O (KCl)], P7 [75 + 75 + 25], P8 [75  + 50 + 50], P9 [75 + 25 + 75], P10 [75 + 100 K2O (KNO3 Merah)]. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bobot segar panen tanaman-1 lebih tinggi pada perlakuan (100 + 75 + 25) dan (100 + 50 + 50). Sedangkan bobot segar panen hektar-1 pada perlakuan (100  + 75 + 25), (100 + 50 + 50), (100 + 25 + 75) dan (75  + 25 + 75) memberikan hasil yang lebih tinggi, Perlakuan pupuk nitrogen yang dikombinasikan dengan pupuk KNO3 Merah memberikan hasil yang lebih tinggi terhadap diameter bonggol, bobot segar per tanaman, bobot segar panen hektar-1 tanaman pakcoy, Dosis 100 + 100 dan 100 + 50 + 50 memberikan jumlah stomata lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainya.

Abstract

As one of the efforts to increase production of catfish culture, the Government of Tuban Regency launched the establishment of The Integrated Catfish Cultivation Center Area (ICACA) in Merakurak Sub-District in 2018. The existence of ICACA makes the program to increase catfish aquaculture more coordinated and increase production of catfish cultivation in Tuban Regency. ICCCA not only has an impact on the aquaculture business in Merakurak District, but also in other sub-districts in Tuban Regency. However, studies that explore the impact of ICACA on aquaculture in other areas are rarely reported. This study analyzes the impact of the existence of ICACA on cultivation business in Tuban District in Tuban Regency. This study uses a descriptive method with a mixed method approach (qualitative and quantitative). The results of this study indicate the factors that are the impact of ICACA in Merakurak District on the development of catfish cultivation in Tuban District. Based on the analysis carried out in this study, the implementation of ICACA in Tuban Regency, especially related to the effect of ICACA on catfish cultivation in Tuban District, needs to be directed to the application of sustainable aquaculture based on the empowerment of local community groups.

Abstract

Osteochilus spilurus merupakan ikan asli Indonesia yang banyak ditemukan pada perairan cenderung asam. Titik temuan terbanyak spesies ini terdapat di Pulau Kalimantan, namun belum diidentifikasikan di Sungai Katingan. Pelaksanaan sampling dilakukan di salah satu anak Sungai Katingan di Desa Tumbang Linting, Kecamatan Katingan Hilir, Kabupaten Katingan. Pengamatan dilakukan pada karakter morfologi meliputi meristik secara manual, morfometrik dengan aplikasi TpsDig dan analisa bentuk tubuh pada 14 landmark dengan program SAGE. O. spilurus teridentifikasi di perairan anak Sungai Katingan dengan nama lokal Banta Malisan dan memiliki ciri morfologi bentuk moncong mengerucut dan bundaran hitam di bagian pangkal ekor. Formula siripnya adalah D.iii.12, V.9, A.6, dan P.8. Linealateralis dengan 29 sisik dan 8 sisik pertama berada sebelum sirip dorsal. Ikan memiliki panjang total antara 72.81 – 55.11 mm, panjang standar 57.1 – 43.27 mm, dan tinggi badan 15.52 – 11.91 mm. Temuan O. spilurus ini menjadi catatan pertama di Sungai Katingan dan telah disimpan spesimen biologinya di Museum Zoologi Bogor dengan nomor regristrasi MZB 26069. Informasi morfologi dan bentuk tubuhnya diharapkan menjadi dasar dan pembanding penelitian spesies ini dimasa mendatang.

Abstract

Garam merupakan komoditas penting yang banyak digunakan secara luas dari kepentingan konsumsi sampai dengan industri. Salah satu faktor utama yang menentukan keberhasilan produksi garam ini adalah kesesuaian lokasi produksi garam. Hanya saja, belum ada metode yang dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam penentuan tingkat kesesuaian lokasi produksi garam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyusun Indeks Kesesuaian Garam (IKG) untuk menganalsis kesesuaian lokasi produksi garam. Dalam penelitian ini, IKG digunakan untuk menganalisis lokasi produksi garam di Kabupaten Tuban dan Kabupaten Probolinggo, Jawa Timur. IKG disusun berdasarkan sembilan parameter kesesuaian yang terdiri dari curah hujan, permeabilitas tanah, jenis tanah, lama penyinaran, kelembapan udara, kecepatan angin, suhu udara, tingkat penguapan dan tingkat kejenuhan air bahan baku. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai IKG lokasi produksi garam di Kabupaten Tuban (Desa Leranwetan) adalah sebesar 86,84 % yang mengindikasikan kalau lokasi ini sudah sangat sesuai untuk produksi garam. Nilai IKG lokasi produksi garam di Kabupaten Probolinggo (Desa Kalibuntu) adalah sebesar 81,57% yang mengindikasikan lokasi ini cukup sesuai sebagai lokasi produksi garam. Studi ini melaporkan untuk pertama kali metode yang dapat digunakan untuk menganalisis tingkat kesesuaian lokasi untuk produksi garam.

Abstract

This article is related to the IbM program entitled Community Feed of Mina Mahardika Catfish Aquaculture Group in Seduri village, Mojosari district, Mojokerto Regency. Based on the identification of partner problems, the main problem facing by Mina Mahardika Group was the characteristics of fish feed produced by the group. The fish feed was very easy to be broken, suspended in the water and does not have enough buoyancy. The problems mainly because the production of the fish feed was still used a conventional technique. The IbM program reported in this article was intended to solve the problems by inducing the pellet making machine that can produce the fish feed having good texture and enough buoyancy for catfish aquaculture activity. The result of the IbM program indicated that the program can help the Mina Mahardika Group to solve their main problems and improve the aquaculture activity through community feed program.

Abstract

Bioflok is a relatively new technology in the field of aquaculture. The weakness of this technology is the need that takes a long time. This ultimately decreases the task and waiting period for fish production. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of air quality and bacteria that will be used as a basis for making rapid biofloc technology. The research was conducted by examining air quality, physics, and chemistry. The results show that the sidika chemical (DO, temperature, pH, intelligence, air color) parameters are not always significant which occurred for eleven days. While the dominant bacteria are the bacteria genus Bacillus, Lactobacillus and Nitrosomonas. This shows that early biofilm formation with these bacteria.

Abstract

Heavy metal pollution in aquatic ecosystems has become one of the primary environmental problems. Cr(VI) is one of the most toxic and carcinogenic heavy metal pollutants. The degradation of aquatic ecosystems due to the Cr(VI) pollution usually occurs slowly, but the impact is accumulative. Hence, an awareness of the pollution often occurs when the impacts have already in the acute or chronic level. Therefore, the technologies to monitor and to solve the Cr(VI) pollution are critically important. The application of biological resources emerges as an alternative technology to solve the problems. This study analyzes the utilization of biofilm as a biomonitoring agent and a biosorbent to monitor and to immobilize Cr(VI) in the aquatic ecosystems, respectively. The development of the biofilm as a biomonitoring agent is conducted through the investigation of Cr(VI) concentration in the biofilm and the surrounding river water, while the utilization of the biofilm as a biosorbent is developed through the analysis of Cr(VI) adsorption characteristics to the biofilm. The results of this study reveal that the concentrations of Cr(VI) inside the biofilms are hundreds of times higher than the surrounding river water. The biofilms seem to accumulate the Cr(VI) from the surrounding river water through a physicochemical process. According to the result of this study, biofilms can become a promising biological agent to monitor and to immobilize Cr(VI) in the aquatic ecosystems.Keywords: Biofilm, Biomonitoring, Biosorption, Cr(VI), Water Pollution

Abstract

Biofilm is predominant habitats of microbes in aquatic environments. Biofilm forms when microbes attach on surfaces and produce extracellular polymeric substances. Biofilm matrix has been showed to have high sorption capacity to accumulate various ions including nutrient ions. The main driving force of the accumulation of the ions is supposed to be an electrostatic interaction between the nutrient and the biofilm polymer. Hence, the understanding of electric charge properties of biofilm polymer is critically important to understand the accumulation process. The present study aimed to investigate the characteristics of electric charge properties of biofilm polymer from biofilms formed on various surfaces (stone, wood, glass bottle, teflon, rubber, and stainless steel). The electric charge properties of biofilm polymers were investigated by measuring the electrophoretic mobility of the biofilms in various pHs (range from pH 2 to pH 9) and titrated HCl and NaOH aqueous solution to the biofilm suspension. The results indicated that biofilm matrices seemed to have both negatively and positively charged sites as a result of ionization of functional groups existed in biofilm polymers. According to the results of this study, there is a universal characteristic of electric charge properties of biofilms regardless of the kind of substrate.

Abstract

The bioavailability potential of heavy metals in the soil can be used as an indicator of heavy metals pollution in an aquatic system. This research were aimed to determine the distribution of geochemical fractions of copper and zinc in the soil, and to determine the potential risk of soil to the contamination of copper and zinc in Sumber Nyolo aquatic system. Soil samples were collected from five sites at the upper and downstream of the Sumber Nyolo by using grab sampling. Samples were pretreated before metals analysis. Geochemical fractions of copper and zinc was extracted using the Community Bereau of Reference (BCR) modified technique and followed by copper and zinc analysis using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. The results showed that copper was found dominantly as oxidisable fraction (F3) at 19.11 ± 11.8 mg/kg (25 ± 15.5%), while zinc was found as oxidisable fraction (F3) at 228.4 ± 283.5 mg/kg (34 ± 34.7%). As the first fraction (F1) that is referred as the bioavailable fraction, copper (13 ± 12.7%) was more potentially released from soil to water body than zinc (4 ± 5.1%), so copper was more bioavailable. Based on correlation with physical-chemical properties of soil, copper will be released when there is increasing of soil redox potential, increasing of cation exchange capacity and changes of pH to acid condition. Furthermore, the Risk Assessment Code (RAC) value for copper and zinc in soil from Sumber Nyolo were 0.13% and 0.04%, respectively. This indicated that soil in Sumber Nyolo has no harmful for copper and zinc contamination in the aquatic system. In conclusion, by understanding the distribution of geochemical fractions of copper and zinc in soil and soil potential risk, it can be predicted the potentially contamination of copper and zinc in the aquatic system which is interacted with the soil.
