Abstract

Water is a vital resource, yet its quality is increasingly affected by climate change and human activities. Seasonal variations, particularly between dry and rainy periods, may influence river water quality, with pH serving as a key chemical parameter. This study aimed to examine the effect of seasonal differences on river water pH levels using meta-analysis. The objective was to provide evidence of whether rainfall patterns significantly alter pH concentrations in tropical and subtropical regions. Relevant literature was collected from online databases using keywords such as “water pollution,” “dry season,” and “wet season.” Out of more than 40 studies, four articles with complete seasonal pH data were selected. Data were processed using OpenMEE software with a random-effects model, and the log response ratio (lnRR) was applied to compare pH values between dry (control) and rainy (treatment) seasons. The analysis revealed no significant seasonal differences in pH levels. The overall effect size was weak (–0.758), with the 95% confidence interval crossing zero. Heterogeneity among studies was high (I² = 80.325%), yet subgroup analyses by region, climate, and location confirmed consistent results. In conclusion, river water pH in tropical and subtropical areas remains relatively stable across seasons, influenced by steady climate conditions, well-mixed water bodies, and consistent vegetation. Broader datasets, especially from Indonesia, are needed to validate these findings.

Abstract

Contribution: Progressive Massive Fibrosis (PMF) is a severe form of pneumoconiosis, affecting individuals exposed to mineral dust, such as coal miners and workers in the artificial stone industry. This condition causes significant pulmonary impairment and increased mortality. Early and accurate detection is vital for effective management, yet traditional diagnostic methods face challenges in differentiating PMF from other pulmonary diseases due to variability in clinical presentations and limitations in imaging techniques. Idea: The study introduces a novel diagnostic framework that integrates Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks to enhance the detection and monitoring of PMF. The GAN generates high-fidelity synthetic imaging data to address the issue of limited datasets, while the LSTM network captures temporal patterns in patient data, enabling real-time monitoring of disease progression. Objective: The primary objective of this research is to develop an AI-driven model that improves the accuracy and efficiency of PMF detection and monitoring, facilitating early diagnosis and better treatment planning. Findings: The integrated GAN-LSTM model significantly outperformed traditional diagnostic methods. It proved high accuracy, a Dice coefficient of 0.85, and an Area Under the Curve (AUC) of 0.92, showing precise differentiation of PMF from other pulmonary conditions, such as lung cancer and tuberculosis. Results: The GAN-LSTM framework achieved an accuracy of 91.3%, suggesting that the fusion of GAN and LSTM technologies can effectively address the challenges of limited datasets and heterogeneous disease progression. The model showed promise in enhancing the non-invasive detection and ongoing monitoring of PMF. Novelty: This research stands for a significant advancement in PMF diagnostics by combining GAN and LSTM technologies in a single framework. This approach improves diagnostic accuracy and eases continuous disease monitoring, offering a non-invasive and highly precise solution for PMF detection.

Abstract

The Kurir Singgang Community, also known as Babuhan Kurir, in North Barito, is a social group formed based on shared profession as couriers and a mutual interest in the world of automotive culture. Along with the passage of time and the dynamics of its members’ lives, the community has undergone significant changes in both membership composition and the forms of solidarity established. This study aims to explore how social solidarity within the Kurir Singgang community is formed, maintained, and developed, shifting from profession-based solidarity to solidarity rooted in shared interests and collective values across diverse backgrounds. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of community activities. The findings reveal a transformation from an exclusive to an inclusive character as an adaptation to the challenges of courier work and changing member identities. Social solidarity, which initially stemmed from professional commonality, has been strengthened through cooperation, mutual assistance, and emotional attachment in the community’s daily life. This process aligns with Emile Durkheim’s theory of social solidarity, illustrating the transition from mechanical to organic solidarity. While the community has managed to endure and evolve, challenges remain, including differences in commitment levels and disparities in member participation. This research contributes to the broader study of community dynamics and social change in the context of informal labor societies. Future studies are recommended to focus on aspects of community leadership, mechanisms of collective decision-making, and the role of social media in shaping and sustaining social solidarity in the digital era.

Abstract

Now days, the home environment is still much  less supportive of life for the elderly, most elderly living at  home need a companion to help them. Safety, health, happiness  and independence will be difficult for them to get even the  elderly will be further away from the surrounding  environment. Based on population projection 2017 data there  are 23.66 million elderly people in Indonesia and predicted in  2020 there are 27.08 million people elderly. Smart homes that  are currently widely studied have not focused on elderly; most  smart homes only provide a sense of security and convenience  for adult residents. And this will be a problem that until now  has not solved the improvement of human life through  technology to get happiness, care and health especially for the  elderly. In many cases of the elderly, it is easier to send them to  live in a nursing home and that keeps them separated from  their families for the rest of their lives. That's what makes  them less happiness. Orange Technology is a collection of  technological elements to improve human life by getting  happiness, Care and health. This study reviewed the journals  of scientific databases such as IEEE explore, ACM digital  library and Proquest published from 2002 to 2017. From the  search results obtained 54 papers that will answer the scientific  questions of this research. The result of this research is a  framework of smart house that has Sensor, Monitoring,  Wireless, Scalability, Low cost, GPS and ease of installation  and maintenance as components of smart house of orange  technology for elderly.
