Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reliability of the thesis assessment instrument using Generalizability Theory (G-Theory).  This research is a quantitative study that applies G-Theory. G-Theory is unique and useful in evaluating the sources of actual variance and error in any measurement design. Thus, G-Theory contributes to improving reliability and validity in assessment. In this study, data were collected using a thesis assessment instrument that had been tested on thesis assessments conducted at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Jambi.  G-Theory analysis in this study includes several main points, namely G-Study, Optimization (D-Study), and G-facets analysis. The results of the analysis show that the assessment instrument has a fairly high level of reliability with a G coefficient of 0.78. This indicates that the instrument can be used effectively in the thesis assessment. In addition, based on the results of the analysis carried out, recommendations were obtained to reassess item number two, increase the number of raters to six people to increase the reliability of the instrument to 0.80 to meet the satisfactory category. The resulting recommendations can be used by developers to improve the reliability of instruments in future assessment activities. This research is also expected to be a reference for future researchers in applying G-Theory in analyzing the reliability of measurement instruments.

Abstract

The ability to think creatively in mathematics is a crucial aspect that must be possessed by students, so that they can face the dynamics of change and challenges in life that continues to develop. Graded Response Models (GRM) is one of the models of the modern approach of Item Response Theory (IRT) to polytomus data. Graded Response Models (GRM) are used to estimate students' test item ability and mathematical creative thinking skills. This research is a type of quantitative research with an ex post facto method. This study uses the responses of Junior High School (SMP) Class VIII students in the North Bahar sub-district, Muaro Jambi Regency. A total of 120 grade VIII students spread across 4 State Junior High Schools in the sub-district were the subjects of this study. The instrument used was a test instrument for students' mathematical creative thinking skills amounting to 2 questions with each question having 4 indicators of mathematical creative thinking ability. The data was analyzed using the GRM approach using the help of Parscale 4.1 software. Based on the results of data analysis, the results of estimating the ability parameter (θ) of mathematical creative thinking are mostly at medium ability. This can be seen from the histogram of the results of estimating the parameters of mathematical creative thinking ability, most students are in the range of -1 to 1.

Abstract

Orphans are a special group of children who are generally marginalized and vulnerable to mental disorders. Efforts that can be made are to provide education about the importance of maintaining mental health as an effort to improve mental health. So that education can be easily understood by school age children, education needs to be delivered using varied media, namely pop-up book media because pop-up books provide surprises on every page which will make the story even more real. This research aims to determine the effect of using pop up book media on the mental health of school-aged children. This research is a quasi-experimental quantitative research using a pretest-posttest control group design approach with 20 respondents divided into 10 intervention groups and 10 control groups. Data measurement with the SDQ instrument. Univariate data analysis using frequency distribution. Bivariate analysis uses paired t-test. The results of mental health research after being given pop-up book media were that in the intervention group, 10 respondents were in the normal category (100%) while in the control group 8 respondents were in the abnormal category (80%) and 2 respondents were in the borderline category (20% . which was tested using the paired t-test, the p-value was 0.001 or p < 0.05. This shows that there is a significant difference in mental health before and after being given education using pop up book media. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to measure students' mathematical problem-solving ability using the Item Response Theory (IRT) approach with the Generalized Partial Credit Model (GPCM). The research was carried out in North Bahar District, Muaro Jambi Regency, by involving all grade IX junior high school students in the even semester of the 2024/2025 school year as a sample through total sampling techniques. The test instruments were compiled and analyzed based on five main stages, including testing, scoring, and data processing and analysis using PARSCALE 4.1 software. The results of the analysis showed that the instruments used met the assumption of unidimensionality, which at the same time indicated the fulfillment of the assumption of local independence and parameter invariance. The model fit test produces a value indicating that the GPCM model matches the empirical data. Student ability estimates show a distribution that is close to normal, with most students being at moderate to slightly below average ability levels. The parameters of the question items showed high differentiating power and moderate difficulty, while the test information function showed the effectiveness of the instrument in measuring students' ability at average ability. In conclusion, the GPCM model is effectively used in measuring students' mathematical problem-solving abilities validly, accurately, and thoroughly.
