Abstract

This research conducted in PGSD FIP Unimed  to increase Higher Order Thinking Skills of PGSD students. Based on the research results, in the control class using the conventional method the average learning outcome 79.08 whereas with the model of Problem Based Learning learning with the scientific approach data average learning outcome is 83.03. Based on the calculation obtained Fhitung> Ftabel yaitu 6,53 > 2.67, then Ho is rejected and it can be concluded there are significant differences in implementation of Problem-based Learning model with scientific approach in increasing Higher Order Thinking Skills. Keywords: Higher Order Thinking Skilss, Problem-Based Learning, Scientific Approach

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop Fine Arts Learning Media Using Professional MIT App Inventors in a Team Based Project-Based Prototype Curriculum for PGSD FIP UNIMED students. The use of applications is certainly an alternative to fulfill students` artistic competence as prospective teachers. The context of students who come from cultural diversity is the basis for researchers to create teaching materials that can include various arts and cultures in Indonesia. The product results have gone through the stages of validity, implementation and effectiveness testing. With trials conducted, the resulting product is valid (proper in content and appearance), implementation (easy to use by lecturers and students), and effective (can improve student learning processes and outcomes). The development model uses a 4D model that emphasizes the need for learning outcomes. In the identification phase, needs analysis, concept analysis, technical training success analysis, usage analysis and cultural diversity analysis are conducted. The development phase is implemented with 3 main activities: validation testing, implementation testing, and performance testing. At the last stage, the product is widely distributed.

Abstract

Improved Softskill Development and Augmented Reality In addition to focusing on mastery of academic material, basic education increasingly emphasizes the development of soft skills or soft skills that are essential for success in this digital era. Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED) as one of the LPTK that produces teachers since 2011 has set a strategy towards 2025 by launching the development of its role in producing quality teachers. One of the directions developed is to make UNIMED as "The character building university" by developing a learning revolution that seeks to develop soft skills in learning. Based on the search conducted through ethnic groups in North Sumatra, 15 attributes of the most relevant soft skills were formulated, including: (1) religious, (2) discipline, (3) visionary, (4) cooperation, (5) leadership and organization, (6) adaptable/ flexible, (7) tolerant/ friendly, (8) oral communication, (9) written communication, (10) problem solving, (11) confidence, (12) caring, (13) serving, (14) honesty, and (15) responsibility at work. Augmented Reality in particular has shown its great potential to enhance STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. Virtual laboratories, and to replicate real-world scenarios and visualize complicated scientific phenomena in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Engineering Education.

Then using the exclusion criteria by looking at the publication time of the last 1 year (2022-2023) and the suitability of research in higher education obtained 571 articles consisting of ERIC there are 29 titles and from Google Scholar 600 titles. Then at the final stage an assessment was carried out by selecting journals with the same title and author, then limiting the year of publication, the scope of higher education and completeness obtained 14 literature, consisting of 11 literature in Indonesian and English.
