The speed of urban development, has caused a very heavy commuter. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the characteristics of the group members, with the process of communication and cohesiveness among commuters. The study was conducted to 86 members of the group in KA.Patas Purwakarta with quantitative methods using questionnaires as research instruments. Test analysis using Spearman rank statistic and chi Square to analyze the relationship between the characteristics of the group members, with the communication process and individual attitudes towards cohesiveness among commuters. The study states that the age of negative relationship with the communication process. The older the age of a member was, the lower the knowledge and the obedient of the group `s norm he had. Female members had a higher involvement in the communication process of the group than the male members. There was a negative relationship between the occupation and the cohesiveness of the group. The better occupation they had, the lower degree of cohesiveness they showed. There was a significant relationship between the sex of members and their cohesivenessoutside the railway coach. Application of information and communication technology (ICTs)currently has integrated with agricultural development. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) such as mobile phones have been used in rural development activities. LISA is a groundbreaking program that aims to provide an integrated agricultural services include agricultural tips services, the interactive dialogue, and iteration financial services based on mobile phone short message service. The main objective of this study to determine the effectiveness of LISA as agricultural information dissemination media based short message service role in agricultural development. The purposes of the study were 1) to analyze the exposure of LISA user; 2) to analyze the relationship between user characteristics and external factors against LISA’ exposure; 3) to analyze the relationship between LISA exposure against the effectiveness of communication; and 4) to analyze the relationship between interaction with other information sources against the effectiveness of communication. The sample selection method used in the study was multiple stage sampling. The sample included 100 LISA user in Karawang District. The data analysis was carried out using the descriptive correlational analysis and SEMpls. The result showed that the land area cultivated respondent significantly affect LISA’ exposure. External factors do not significantly affect the LISA exposure. LISA exposure significantly affect the effectiveness of communication. Interactions with other information sources does not significantly influence the effectiveness of communication.Keywords: short message service, LISA exposure, the effectiveness of communication

Farmers have local wisdom passed down from generation to generation as a guide in farming activities. However, the existence of climate change makes them must be able to adapt to new agricultural patterns. They are required to know in advance the appropriate planting season in order to avoid crop failure later. Nonetheless, the farmers who are figure most susceptible to this problem are precisely not to have such knowledge. For these reasons the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) create a training program that is devoted to improving the adaptability of farmers in the face of climate change named CDCCAA (Capacity Development for Climate Change Adaptation in Agriculture and Other Relevant Sectors). The present study was aimed to evaluate the factors that influence of the communications programs that are indicated by the farmers' knowledge about climate change, the attitude of farmers facing climate change and the farmers tendency to act after the training. Based on the survey of 50 trainees in the Panguragan Subdistrict Cirebon Regency, and SEM analysis it is known that the individual characteristics significantly influence the communication process CDCCAA training program, and cosmopolity factors have also significant influence on the behavior of farmers against the risk of climate change. In addition, the communication process not significantly influence with attitudes to climate change risk, and assessment of training rogram not significantly influence with communication process also.Keywords: climate change, process of communication , adaptation

PT Bumi Konawe Mining (PT BKM) is a company with foreign (Russian) investment which is working in the field of excavating and trading nickel ore overseas. So far, the company owns only one nickel location, in Indonesia, which is on Wowonii island, South East Sulawesi. Company works through local consultant, because the owners are foreigners, which makes local community not to trust them. So the aim of this research is to reveal which level of the CSR mechanism fails to deliver proper result. The goals for the research are (1) To analyze the satisfaction of local community members by CSR program of PT. BKM; (2) To analyze the Corporate Image of PT BKM; (3) To maintain analysis of multi- cultural communication of PT. BKM and describe its mechanism on the basis of their carrying out the CSR program. The method used in this research is quantitative method with a questionnaire and supported by qualitative data obtained through direct interviews with data and respondents using the guide questions. The tool used for the quantitative section is SEM (structural equation modeling). Research using significance level 0.05 or 95% confidence level. The research results reflect that age significantly influence CSR Program, which means the younger the age, the bigger the satisfaction of the CSR Program. CSR program also significantly influence the Perception of the Company by local community members, if the value of a CSR program increases, so does the value of Perception of the Company by local community members, represented by the Image of the Company and Cross-Cultural Communication.

Promotion through Social Media is a way for culinary Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) in Solo Raya area for expanding the product’s information so it can persuade consument’s buying decision. The purpose of this research is to identify the correlations between the use of social media as promotion media with business improvement. This research is using confidence sampling and Rank Spearman for the statistical test. The result from this research is some of respondents characteristic has no correlations with the used of media social as promotion media. The behavior of social media users variable has a strong positive correlations and significant with the used of social media as promotion media. The other result from this research is doing promotion through social media has a medium positive correlations and also significant with business improvement.

The people of West Sumatra, who have been adhering to the Minangkabau matrilineal cultural tradition, are currently experiencing cultural decay. Many studies speculate that the unique Minangkabau culture will not be too much disturbed by the influx of globalization because in essence the only part that will be eroded is the peripheral part, while the core will remain preserved for all time. This study photographed the people of Tanjung Raya District based on existing family typologies, then saw a shift in norms passed on to teenagers using the six Hofstede cultural dimensions. This study surveyed five types of families with calculations using a simple addition operation. The results of the questionnaire were made high and low criteria, then presented in cobweb graphical form. The assessment indicators are based on the six dimensions of Hofstede's culture. Shifting the teachings of exemplary teachings from Minangkabau culture is determined using the ANOVA test. The results of this study are to map the portrait of Minangkabau culture according to Hofstede and a portrait of each of Hofstede's dimensions in each type of family in Tanjung Raya District. From there, it can be seen how far away the approach of the values taught by the family towards Minangkabau culture is approaching.

Layanan Informasi Desa/Rural Information Service (LISA) is an information service for farmers based on SMS. It is used to disseminate agricultural information and provide a space for agricultural tips, ask questions and have a discussion. This study was conducted to determine the response and the perceived benefits of these services for farmer households. The study was conducted in Karawang, where LISA was launched. The results showed that the frequency of LISAâ€™S use varied greatly from once per week to 30 times per week, but no farmer household used Android-based applications. The frequency of use of these services is significantly related to satisfaction level and is associated with the level of knowledge of farmer households. On the other hand, the frequency of use of LISA is unrelated to the characteristics of farmer households, which include age, education, sex, land ownership, as well as participation in farmer groups, and cosmopolitanism. A higher level of knowledge is also related to the suitability of the tips given by LISA and the degree of satisfaction with the LISA.

ABSTRACTHerbal extract (Eugenia polyantha, Nigella sativa, Apium graveolens) and IL-6 plasma level of hyperuricaemic patientsBackground: Hyperuricaemia stimulates pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α, IL-1 and IL-6. They also will stimulate leucocyte adhesion molecule. Suplementation of bay-leaf (Eugenia polyantha), celery herb (Apium graveolens) and blackseed (Nigella sativa) had known to decrease inflammatory cytokines response including IL-6 blood level. These herbal are common in Indonesia but have not clinically studied correlation with IL-6 pro inflammatory cytokine in human. The aim study was to determine the effect of herbal extract on IL-6 blood level of hyperuricaemic patients.Methods: This study was an experimental study with double blind randomised clinical trial, held on 2007 March–2008 February. Samples were hyperuricaemic patiens in clinic and wards of internal medicine and geriatric RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang. They were divided into 2 groups: (1) Extract herbal and (2) placebo group. IL-6 blood level were tested before and 4 weeks after treatment using ELISA methode.Results: Subjects were 43 hyperuricaemic patients (22 in herbal treatment group compare with 21 in placebo group). The mean of basic IL-6 level in herbal group was 214.58 pg/dl whereas in placebo was 182.89 pg/dl. The mean of outcome IL-6 level in herbal group was 192.15 pg/dl whereas in placebo group was 254,00 pg/dl. The mean of IL-6 delta level in herbal group was -22.43 pg/dl whereas in placebo was 71.11 pg/dl (p:0.045). The mean of IL-6 ratio in herbal group was 1142.16% whereas in placebo was 754.45% (p:0.052).Conclusion: The herbal extract being used uric acid lowering agent decreases IL-6 level.Keywords: IL-6, Eugenia polyantha, Apium graveolens, Nigella sativaABSTRAKLatar belakang: Hiperurisemia akan memacu produksi sitokin proinflamasi TNF-α, IL-1 dan IL-6. Ketiga sitokin tadi akan memacu penarikan lekosit ke daerah deposit kristal monosodium urat dan melipatgandakan respon inflamasi. Daun salam (Eugenia polyantha), seledri (Apium graveolens), dan biji jinten hitam (Nigella sativa) pada percobaan terdahulu dapat menurunkan respon inflamasi termasuk kadar IL-6 pada respon inflamasi. Ketiga tanaman ini sangat banyak digunakan di Indonesia namun sampai saat ini belum dilakukan uji klinik pada manusia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efek pemberian formula ekstrak herbal terhadap kadar IL-6 serum penderita hiperurisemia.Metoda: Penelitian ini adalah eksperimental yaitu double blind randomised clinical trial (RCT), dilaksanakan Maret 2007–Februari 2008. Subyek penelitian adalah penderita hiperurisemia usia 18 tahun yang berobat di Poliklinik/Rawat Inap Penyakit Dalam dan Geriatri RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang. Sampel dibagi menjadi kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kelola. Dilakukan pemeriksaan kadar IL-6 darah sebelum dan setelah 4 minggu perlakuan. IL-6 diperiksa dengan cara ELISA.Hasil: Sampel sebanyak 43 orang (22 orang kelompok herbal dan 21 orang kelompok plasebo). Rerata kadar IL-6 awal kelompok herbal 214,58 pg/dl sedangkan kelompok plasebo 182,89 pg/dl. Rerata kadar IL-6 akhir kelompok herbal 192,15 pg/dl sedangkan kelompok plasebo 254,00 pg/dl. Rerata delta kadar IL-6 kelompok ekstrak herbal -22,43 pg/dl dan kelompok plasebo 71,11 pg/dl (p:0,045). Rerata rasio IL-6 pada kelompok herbal 1142,16% sedangkan pada kelompok plasebo 754,45% (p:0,052).Simpulan: Ekstrak herbal penurun asam urat dapat menurunkan kadar IL-6 serum penderita hiperurisemia.

Salah satu fasilitas yang disediakan oleh Google yang dapat digunakan sebagai alat analisis data adalah Google Trends. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis data yang direkam oleh Google Trends pada tahun 2016 dan 2017 perihal konflik sosial Aksi Bela Islam yang terjadi di ruang publik virtual. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan netnografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fitur kata kunci yang disediakan oleh Google Trends menjadi alat hegemoni media untuk mengarahkan pencari berita pada informasi yang seragam, sehingga mengakibatkan terjadinya polarisasi massa dalam menyikapi fenomena Aksi Bela Islam. Terlebih lagi, kebijakan yang dikeluarkan pemerintahj ustru menguatkan polarisasi.

Hidup sehat di usia senja merupakan dambaan bagi para lanjut usia. Kesehatan lanjut usia inilah yang mendukung meningkatnya angka harapan hidup masyarakat Indonesia. Masyarakat lanjut usia (lansia) membutuhkan interaksi dengan masyarakat publik, dalam hal ini adalah kebutuhan lanjut usia akan ruang interaksi sosial berupa ruang terbuka publik (public space) dalam bentuk taman lansia. Pada tahun 2007 Jawa Tengah menempati urutan ke-3 dari lima propinsi di Indonesia dengan jumlah lanjut usia terbesar namun saat ini belum memiliki taman khusus lansia dan belum memiliki Perda Lansia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan menciptakan keterpaduan antara ilmu geriatri dengan arsitektur didalam perencanaan sebuah taman lansia yang diharapkan dapat mewadahi kebutuhan ruang sosial yang baik bagi lansia, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup lansia khususnya di kota Semarang. Metode yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif dimana untuk pencarian data dengan cara purposive sampling dan area sampling. Hasil penelitian ini akan mengarahkan dalam mendesain taman lansia yang tepat bagi warga lansia di Kota Semarang dan dapat bermanfaat sesuai fungsinya serta didalam perencanaan ruang terbuka publik biasanya hanya melibatkan bidang perencanaan kota tanpa melihat aspek lain (dalam hal ini adalah ilmu geriatri) yang ternyata sangat mendukung keberhasilan perencanaan.
