Abstract

As the national language, Indonesian plays a strategic role as a national identity and an instrument of global diplomacy. In line with Law Number 24 of 2009, the internationalization of Indonesian is carried out through the Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) program. This research aims to analyze the position of Indonesian, language politics and planning, and BIPA development strategies through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The PAR method was implemented through planning, action, and reflection with BIPA teachers in France during a training session held on July 17–18, 2025, at the Indonesian Embassy in France. The results indicate that Indonesian has strengths in terms of regulations, history, and number of speakers, as well as significant potential to become an international language. However, weaknesses remain, such as low public ideological understanding and limited vocabulary. The implementation of language policy also faces challenges in the public sphere. The BIPA development strategy emphasizes ongoing training, strengthening teaching materials, research, and cross-institutional collaboration. The PAR approach has proven effective in producing contextual and sustainable solutions.

Abstract

The ability to convey messages through sounds is known as language skills, with listening skills being one of its most essential components. Listening skills are developed by children before they can speak, read, and write. However, these skills are often neglected, which affects other language skills. To improve students' listening skills, it's necessary to use innovative and creative learning media. Learning media is a teaching strategy employing innovative learning tools to achieve the intended learning objectives. This research aims to provide an in-depth understanding of using technology-based learning media to improve students' listening skills. After analyzing 24 articles using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, the study concludes that technology-based learning media positively influences students' listening abilities. Using technology-based learning media during the learning process enhances students' enthusiasm and interest in learning. Learning media positively influences students' listening abilities. Using technology-based learning media during the learning process enhances students' enthusiasm and interest in learning. The analysis results indicate that using technology-based learning media, such as podcasts, animated videos, and audiovisual materials, has a positive impact on students' listening skills. The observable outcomes include increased student interactivity and improved understanding of a broader and deeper context regarding information.

Abstract

Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI) are Indonesian citizens who work abroad to meet their economic needs and contribute to the national economy.This article discusses efforts to enhance nationalism and ideological resilience among PMI in Malaysia, particularly in Johor Bahru, focusing on strengthening their understanding of rights and obligations as Indonesian citizens. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method to gather information through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results indicate that outreach and advocacy activities conducted by various parties, including the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia and the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), positively impact PMI's understanding of their rights and strengthen their sense of nationalism. However, challenges still exist, such as the lack of involvement from relevant stakeholders in providing training on professional skills for PMI. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of closer collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and related organizations to enhance PMI's awareness, knowledge, and skills as responsible citizens of Indonesia.   Abstrak Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI) adalah warga negara Indonesia yang bekerja di luar negeri untuk memenuhi kebutuhan ekonomi mereka dan berkontribusi pada perekonomian nasional. Artikel ini membahas upaya peningkatan nasionalisme dan ketahanan ideologi Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI) di Malaysia, khususnya di Johor Bahru, dengan fokus pada penguatan pemahaman terhadap hak dan kewajiban mereka sebagai warga negara Indonesia. Dalam metodologi penelitian ini, pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus digunakan untuk menggali informasi melalui wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan penyuluhan dan advokasi yang dilakukan oleh berbagai pihak, termasuk Konsulat Jenderal Republik Indonesia (KJRI) dan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), memberikan dampak positif terhadap pemahaman PMI mengenai hak-hak mereka serta memperkuat rasa kebangsaan mereka. Meskipun demikian, masih terdapat tantangan terkait kurangnya keterlibatan pihak terkait dalam penyuluhan tentang keterampilan profesional PMI. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah pentingnya kolaborasi yang lebih erat antara pemerintah, lembaga pendidikan, dan organisasi terkait untuk meningkatkan kesadaran, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan PMI sebagai warga negara Indonesia yang baik. Abstract

This Community Service Program is based on the limitations of foreign language skills other than English, namely the French language of hotel and restaurant employees in Denpasar, Bali. Meanwhile, in 2024, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy hopes that Bali will be able to attract seven million foreign tourists. French tourists are the seventh most common tourists who come to Bali. Departing from these goals, this service program will implement French tourism training that can provide linguistic insight to hotel and restaurant employees in Denpasar, Bali. It will lead to improving their language quality. This service aims to 1) provide French Tourism training for hotel and restaurant employees in Denpasar - Bali; 2) Conduct a technical simulation of Jeux de rôles- actes de parole. The service is training in Jeux de rôles-actes de parole techniques based on local material in learning French Tourism for hotel and restaurant employees in Denpasar, Bali.   Abstrak Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dilandasi oleh keterbatasan kemampuan bahasa asing selain bahasa Inggris yaitu bahasa Perancis para pegawai hotel dan restoran di kota Denpasar, Bali. Sedangkan tahun 2024 ini Menparekraf berharap Bali mampu menjaring tujuh juta wisatawan mancanegara. Wisatawan Prancis, merupakan wisatawan terbanyak ketujuh yang datang ke Bali. Berangkat dari sasaran tersebut, program pengabdian ini akan menerapkan pelatihan bahasa Perancis Pariwisata yang dapat memberikan wawasan kebahasaprancisan kepada para pegawai hotel dan restoran di Denpasar - Bali, sehingga akan bermuara pada peningkatan kualitas kebahasaan mereka. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk 1) memberikan pelatihan Bahasa Perancis Pariwisata bagi para pegawai hotel dan restoran di Denpasar - Bali; 2) mengadakan simulasi teknik Jeux de rôles- actes de parole. Bentuk pengabdiannya adalah berupa pelatihan teknik Jeux de rôles-actes de parole berbasis local material dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Perancis Pariwisata bagi pegawai hotel dan restoran di Denpasar – Bali. Abstract

One of the fundamental steps that needs to be taken to improve the quality of human resources is to eradicate illiteracy among the community. This can be done by empowering the National Literacy Movement through various interactive activities, such as Arisan Baca Indung. The implementation of this community service aims to reduce illiteracy rates among mothers, improve the human development index in the education sector, and provide the community with an understanding of the importance of education and reading. This community service program uses an innovative approach called Arisan Baca Indung to provide an engaging and interactive learning experience for housewives. The program participants were 20 members of the Sukalilah Women Farmers Group. The stages of this community service program include program planning, program implementation, and program evaluation. The Arisan Baca Indung program has succeeded in improving reading skills through a creative group learning approach, where participants are involved in social activities such as social gatherings. This program has had an impact in reducing illiteracy rates, increasing awareness of the importance of education, and encouraging women's participation in local economic development through agricultural potential.   Abstrak Salah satu langkah fundamental yang perlu dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia yaitu memberantas buta aksara di kalangan masyarakat. Pemberantasan tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan memberdayakan Gerakan Literasi Nasional melalui berbagai kegiatan yang interaktif, seperti Arisan Baca Indung. Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menurunkan angka buta aksara di kalangan ibu-ibu, meningkatkan indeks pembangunan manusia di sektor pendidikan, serta memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat mengenai pentingnya pendidikan dan membaca. Pengabdian ini menggunakan pendekatan inovatif yang disebut Arisan Baca Indung untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar yang menarik dan interaktif bagi ibu rumah tangga. Partisipasi program yaitu Kelompok Wanita Tani Sukalilah yang berjumlah 20 orang. Tahapan dalam pengabdian ini meliputi perencanaan program, pelaksanaan program, dan evaluasi program. Program Arisan Baca Indung berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan membaca melalui pendekatan kelompok belajar yang kreatif, di mana peserta dilibatkan dalam kegiatan sosial seperti arisan. Program ini berdampak dalam menurunkan angka buta aksara, meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya pendidikan, dan mendorong partisipasi perempuan dalam pengembangan ekonomi lokal melalui potensi pertanian. Abstract

This study analyzes and describes how isotopic regularity and irregularity manifest through symbols in three symbolic poems by Stéphane Mallarmé titled Brise Marine (1865), Les Soupirs (1864), and Éventail (1884). These three poems share thematic elements centered on absence, silence, and the search for spiritual meaning. Greimas’s theory of isotopy serves as the foundation for analyzing semantic consistency or the repetition of meaning within the text. This qualitative descriptive study with structural-semiotic analysis focuses on identifying isotopies—both regular and deviant—to uncover the symbolic meanings within the works. The research involves structural analysis to identify coherent isotopies, interpret symbols exhibiting irregularity to uncover deeper meanings, and track the repetition of semantic units in determining regularity and irregularity within the poems. The results indicate that 61 symbols from the three poems contain a clash between the regularity and irregularity of isotopy. The groups of isotopic regularity identified include: intellectual isotopy, social isotopy, existential isotopy, inner isotopy, isotopy of beauty and purity, seasonal isotopy, isotopy of hope, isotopy of imagination, natural isotopy, emotional isotopy, and isotopy of authority. Meanwhile, the isotopic irregularities identified include: the isotopy of the urge to escape, the isotopy of the journey, the isotopy of failure or destruction, aimless movement, the isotopy of solitude or emptiness, suffering, exhaustion, the isotopy of the boundaries between reality and imagination, the isotopy of aimless romance, feelings of being held back, and tempting desires. Abstract

Indonesia, as a multicultural country with a wide diversity of cultures, religions, and ethnicities, emphasizes the importance of promoting inclusivity and preserving local identity through education. This study aims to evaluate the suitability of multicultural themes and representations of West Javanese cultural contexts in 1,000 books donated by the National Library to 10,000 community reading parks in 2024. This study is a qualitative descriptive study using the content analysis method. The population in this study was books obtained from Librarians at the National Library, while the sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique, which came from 1000 books with a multicultural context and representation of the West Java cultural context. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques were carried out using content analysis. The results showed that 35.19% of the books evaluated discussed multicultural themes. This theme was more common at the intermediate and advanced reader levels (B3 and C) than at the beginner level (A). Books specifically themed around West Java only represented 4.81% of the collection, highlighting the limitations of local cultural narratives. This study concludes that there is great potential to strengthen regional identity, foster pride in cultural heritage, and provide insight into traditional values through the provision of books on cultural heritage.

Abstract

The instrument for measuring the emergence of 6Cs in learning at elementary schools is an instrument developed to measure the emergence of character, critical thinking, creativity, citizenship, collaboration, and communication in learning planning and learning implementation at elementary schools. The purpose of the research in this paper is to analyze the instrument validity that has been developed to measure the emergence of 6Cs in learning planning and implementation at elementary schools and to describe the copyrighting of a validated instrument. The research method uses the Research and Development of the ADDIE model, which consists of analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating stages. Instrument validation was carried out by four experts. Instruments that have been validated were subsequently revised based on the suggestions for improvement and calculated the validity percentage and validity level. The results indicate that the instrument for measuring the emergence of 6Cs in learning planning at elementary schools had a validity percentage of 97.74% with a very valid validity level. The instrument for measuring the emergence of 6Cs in learning implementation at elementary schools had a validity percentage of 94.41% with a level very valid validity likewise. The results of the validation and this instrument copyright can be a reference to measure the quality of learning planning and implementation so that it can improve the learning quality in elementary schools, especially related to the learning that can facilitate the development of 6Cs.
