Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of self-efficacy and discipline on employee performance, both directly and indirectly through employee engagement as a mediating variable, in cargo companies located in DKI Jakarta. A quantitative descriptive approach was applied, using purposive sampling with a total of 337 respondents. Data were analyzed using SmartPLS. The results show that both self-efficacy and discipline have a positive and significant impact on employee engagement and employee performance. Employee engagement also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Furthermore, self-efficacy positively influences employee performance through employee engagement, whereas discipline does not show a significant indirect effect through engagement. These findings offer practical implications for human resource management in the cargo sector to enhance employee performance by fostering self-efficacy and engagement. This study is limited to a specific geographical area and time frame, suggesting the need for broader future research.   Keywords: Employee Performance, Employee Engagement, Self-Efficacy, Discipline

Abstract

Urban superblocks integrating mixed-use developments generate substantial traffic volumes that threaten to overwhelm existing arterial networks in rapidly urbanizing cities. This study evaluates the operational traffic impacts of the Pakuwon superblock development in Bekasi, Indonesia, using PTV VISSIM microsimulation calibrated against Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI 2023). The research employs a hybrid methodology combining traffic engineering interventions with transportation demand management (TDM) strategies following the Avoid-Shift-Improve (ASI) framework. Baseline simulations reveal catastrophic network failure without mitigation, with volume-to-capacity (V/C) ratios reaching 1.81 and Level of Service (LOS) F on critical arterial segments. The study tested four alternative scenarios, with Alternative 3 (flyover construction combined with comprehensive TDM measures achieving 10% private vehicle reduction) demonstrating optimal performance. Post-mitigation simulations show V/C ratios reduced to 0.69 (average 47% improvement), speeds increased by 36%, and LOS improved to C-D across all segments. Findings demonstrate that integrating physical infrastructure improvements with binding demand management policies is essential for sustainable urban development in congested Asian cities. The research contributes a replicable methodological framework for traffic impact assessment that transcends conventional geometric-only approaches.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of self-efficacy, competence, and discipline on employee work productivity through job satisfaction in warehousing and logistics companies in Indonesia. Job satisfaction is seen as an important factor that influences employee attitudes, motivation, and performance, especially in the warehousing and logistics industry that demands speed, accuracy, and operational efficiency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature review method. The data used are secondary data amounting to 30 scientific articles sourced from reputable national and international journals. The analysis was carried out by examining the relationship between job satisfaction indicators, namely satisfaction with work, work environment, and rewards, with work productivity indicators including quantity of work results, quality of work results, and work time efficiency. The results of the study indicate that: 1) Self-efficacy has a positive effect on job satisfaction; 2) Competence has a positive effect on job satisfaction; 3) Discipline has a positive effect on job satisfaction; 4) Self-efficacy has a positive effect on work productivity; 5) Competence has a positive effect on work productivity; 6) Discipline has a positive effect on work productivity; 7) Job satisfaction has a positive effect on work productivity; 8) Self-efficacy has a positive effect on work productivity through job satisfaction; 9) Competence has a positive effect on work productivity through job satisfaction; 10) Discipline has a positive effect on work productivity through job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors that affect employee turnover through job satisfaction in airports in Indonesia. This research employs a literature review approach by synthesizing findings from various previous international, indexed scientific publications related to the research topic. The study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review design. Data were obtained from reputable international indexed journals sourced from databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, Emerald, Springer, and Google Scholar. The selected literature was examined using data reduction techniques, matrix-based data presentation, and comparative synthesis to identify patterns, similarities, and differences among the studies. The findings indicate that motivation, organizational commitment, organizational culture, and leadership have an influence on employee turnover in Indonesian airports, both directly and indirectly through job satisfaction. However, this study has several limitations. Since it relies on a literature review approach, the results remain conceptual and depend heavily on the quality and scope of previous studies, without incorporating primary empirical data from airport employees. Furthermore, the generalizability of the findings is limited to the context of Indonesian airports and sectors with similar operational characteristics. This study provides a conceptual contribution by integrating the effects of motivation, organizational commitment, organizational culture, and leadership on employee turnover through job satisfaction within the airport context. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of four key human resource management factors into a single conceptual framework, highlighting the role of job satisfaction as a mediating mechanism in explaining employee turnover in the airport sector, which has not been extensively explored in previous studies.
