Abstract

Berpikir kritis merupakan dasar dari kemampuan 4C yang dikembangkan pada pembelajaran Abad-21 melalui Kurikulum 2013. Tetapi kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik di Indonesia masih tegolong rendah. Oleh sebab itu, guru harus berinovasi dalam pembelajaran untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa salah satunya dengan mengembangkan flipbook interaktif. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan flipbook interaktif pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia yang dapat melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas XI SMA berdasarkan kelayakan penyajian, isi, bahasa, penilaian interaktif dan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian pengembangan dengan model 4D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate) tetapi hanya dilakukan sampai pada tahap develop (pengembangan). Tahap pengembangan dilaksanakan di Jurusan Biologi dan Laboratorium IsDB FMIPA Universitas Negeri Surabaya yang menghasilkan Flipbook Interaktif Materi Sistem Pernapasan Manusia dan divalidasi oleh dua validator yaitu dosen ahli pendidikan dan dosen ahli materi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai validasi atau kelayakan yang diperoleh dari dosen ahli berdasarkan aspek kelayakan isi, penyajian, kebahasaan, nilai interaktif dan berpikir kritis yang diambil modusnya dengan nilai 4 (sangat baik) kemudian dipresentasekan menunjukkan skor 100% dengan kategori sangat valid. Dengan demikian flipbook interaktif yang dikembangkan sangat layak untuk diujicobakan pada peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Abstract

In the learning process needed a good strategy to achieve learning goals. One of them is the use of media so that the learning process runs well. The development of the times has brought the world of education more advanced because of the floating technology and information. Android is very popular and many people use it among the people. Many Android applications have been developed for education. In biology, there are a lot of material and need to help overcome material that is still abstract or unclear. A strategy is needed to overcome this, one of which is the use of Android application media. Literature study that have been published say that Android application media can significantly improve students' understanding. The media is also very effective because it has the characteristics of being flexible to use anytime and anywhere, interactive and communicative that can attract students, and make it easier to understand the material so that knowledge is more concrete and can support student learning outcomes. The effectiveness of android applications can be seen from the results of media user satisfaction and can be seen in research that has used applications. This can be seen from the completeness of the learning outcomes of students reaching ≥75%. Keywords: learning media, Android aplication, biology material, learning process, learning goals.

Abstract

Abstract This research is motivated by the low percentage of daily assessment of plant tissue structure and function material of 37.8%. The daily assessment problem that has been tested to students has never been analysis, therefore researchers aim to describe the quality of the problem, improve the problem and obtain better quality questions in the daily assessment made by teachers of plant tissue structure and function materials at SMAN 20 Surabaya school year 2020/2021. This research is descriptive research with qualitative and quantitative methods. Data collection techniques are carried out through interview techniques, studies, and tests using the instrument sheet daily assessment made by teachers 25 multiple choice questions and 4 essays, problem improvement sheets, latticework made by teachers, and student answer sheets. The subjects of this study were 30 students from grade XI IPA 3 SMAN 20 Surabaya.The results showed the reliability value of the teacher's problem was 0.64, the difficulty level showed 2 difficult questions (8%), 9 medium questions (35%), 7 easy questions (28%) and 7 very easy questions (28%). the differentiating index shows 8 very good questions (32%), 6 good questions (24%), 4 questions are enough (16%) ; distractors show 3 very good questions (12%), 2 good questions (8%), 6 questions are enough (24%), 5 questions are bad (20%), and 9 questions are very bad (36%). Daily assessment questions of function material and plant tissue structure made by teachers can be concluded to have low reliability, low difficulty level, good difference index, and bad distractor. Improvement item can be concluded to have high reliability, medium difficulty level, highly good difference index, highly good distractor. Keywords: Study of item question , Daily assessment, Plant tissue structure and function Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya persentase penilaian harian struktur jaringan tanaman dan fungsi bahan sebesar 37,8%. Soal asesmen sehari-hari yang diujikan kepada siswa belum pernah dianalisis, oleh karena itu peneliti bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kualitas soal, memperbaiki masalah dan mendapatkan soal yang lebih berkualitas dalam asesmen harian yang dilakukan oleh guru materi struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan di SMAN. 20 Surabaya tahun pelajaran 2020/2021. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik wawancara, pembelajaran, dan tes dengan menggunakan instrumen lembar penilaian harian yang dibuat guru sebanyak 25 soal pilihan ganda dan 4 karangan, lembar perbaikan masalah, kisi-kisi yang dibuat oleh guru, dan lembar jawaban siswa. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 30 siswa kelas XI IPA 3 SMAN 20 Surabaya, Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai reliabilitas soal guru sebesar 0,64, tingkat kesulitan menunjukkan 2 soal sulit (8%), 9 soal sedang (35%), 7 pertanyaan mudah (28%) dan 7 pertanyaan sangat mudah (28%). indeks pembeda menunjukkan 8 pertanyaan sangat baik (32%), 6 pertanyaan baik (24%), 4 pertanyaan cukup (16%); distraktor menunjukkan 3 pertanyaan sangat baik (12%), 2 pertanyaan baik (8%), 6 pertanyaan cukup (24%), 5 pertanyaan buruk (20%), dan 9 pertanyaan sangat buruk (36%). Soal penilaian harian materi fungsi dan struktur jaringan tanaman yang dibuat oleh guru dapat disimpulkan memiliki reliabilitas rendah, tingkat kesulitan rendah, indeks selisih baik, dan distraktor buruk. Item perbaikan dapat disimpulkan memiliki reliabilitas tinggi, tingkat kesulitan sedang, indeks selisih sangat baik, distraktor sangat baik. Abstract

Abstract Lack of conceptual comprehension can lead students to form a wrong concept. Students’ conceptual comprehension that is different from the actual concept is called a misconception. Biological topic that is prone to misconception is cell bioprocess because the topic is abstract and complete. This research aims to describe the profile of students’ misconceptions using the three-tier diagnostic test, to describe the factors that cause misconceptions, and to offer solutions that overcome students’ misconceptions in cell bioprocess topic. The data collection methods were carried out by providing a three-tier diagnostic test through google form and interviewing through google meet and social media. The research subjects were 60 students of the 11th grade MIPA in SMA Negeri 1 Kamal. The data of diagnostic test were processed and grouped according to the category of students’ conceptual comprehension, besides the interviews data were analyzed by generalizations based on interviews’ answers. The results showed that 76% misconception occurred in cell bioprocess with 79.40% misconception in membrane transport, 74.30% misconception in protein synthesis, and 71.80% misconception in cell reproduction. Factors that cause misconceptions are students' low mastery of the concepts, the use of complicated terms and incomplete information in textbooks, also the lack of interaction between teachers and students. Students’ misconceptions can be reduced through the application of interactive models or media that assist in constructing conceptual comprehension correctly. Further studies of the development and implementation of digital-based learning media in cell bioprocess topic including membrane transport, cell reproduction, and protein synthesis sub-topic should be done near the future to reduce students’ misconceptions. Abstract

One of the obstacles that occur in the learning process is a misconception, inappropriate understanding of concepts. The misconceptions experienced by each student in one class can be different from one another and are caused by various causes. This study aims to describe the profile of misconceptions experienced by students and the causes of misconceptions in students. This research is descriptive quantitative. The research stage began with the making of a diagnostic test instrument (Four-Tier diagnostic test) which was then validated by a material and education expert. Then, the instrument was tested on grade XII student to collect the data. The data were analyzed descriptively. The target of this research was students of MAN 2 Gresik with a total of 60 students. The results showed the profile of students' misconceptions on Genetic Substance material consisting of the concepts of RNA, DNA, chromosomes, DNA & chromosome gene relationships, protein synthesis, and DNA replication with the category of understanding the concept amounted to 6.1%, 39.9% understand some concepts, 41.8% students experience misconceptions, and 12.2% do not understand concepts. The factors that cause misconceptions consist of students, textbooks, learning media, and teaching methods. Further studies of the development and implementation of digital-based learning media on genetic substance material, should be done near the future to reduce student misconceptions. Abstract

Science literacy is very closely related to the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 which demands graduates of quality, able to compete globally and master the development of technology-based on information literacy. The quality of teaching materials such as books needs to be improved and developed in line with advances in information and communication technology. One effort that can be done to develop learning resources in the form of printed books is to package them in the form of electronic books. The purpose of this research was to develop an electronic book on Immune system materials to upskill students’ scientific literacy. This research was constructed as a development study using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) but in this research we didn’t include a Disseminate step. Development stage was held in Biology Department of FMIPA Universitas Negeri Surabaya which produced Immune System e-book. Then, the developed electronic book was being assessed by two validators based on its construction requirements, technical requirements, and didactic requirements which include the scientific literacy aspects. Meanwhile the readability assessed by Fry Graphs. This Immune System e-book have 4 features, wish that it will help the students understanding and upskill the students scientific literacy. The results of the e-book’s validity based on its construction requirements, technical requirements, and didactic requirements were 3.9, 4, and 3.75 respectively. These results are categorized as valid and the e-book can be used in class without any significant revision. The readability assessments showed that the passages are suited for 9th‑grade, 10th grade, and 13th grade students. Even though the results are all in a difficult reading category which suits for high school students, revision needed to be done so that the passage in the e-book will specifically suits for 11th grade students. Abstract

Eco Campus is a national environmental management system and award scheme for the higher education sector for addressing key issues of environment. One of the education institutions at university level that was planned to implement an eco- campus is the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) especially at the Faculty of Mathematics and Science (FMIPA). However, to create such goal, it was important to begin with how to make the students have responsible environmental behavior (REB). Related to such problem, the pre experimental research has been conducted to promote three of responsible environmental behavior of students in Biology department of international class 2012, comprised of; eco-management action, persuasion, and economic/consumer action using the implementation of environmental education program. As a lifelong study, the environmental education was aimed to show that interdependency between humanity and the environment was needed to improve the human environment sustainability for the present and the future generations. This study was conducted using variety of data sources; observation, interview, questionnaire and test. Based on the data analyses descriptively and the discussion result, it was known that the ability of the lecturer to manage the learning activities for each category was good. Then, the implementation of environmental education program can promote three categories of responsible environmental behaviors of students. Moreover, the environmental education implemented in the current research has positive impact on students’ cognitive learning outcomes of environmental knowledge subject, especially the strategies for sustainable development topic, based on the UNESA grade standard.Eko-kampus adalah sebuah sistem manajemen lingkungan nasional dan skema penghargaan untuk sektor pendidikan tinggi untuk mengatasi permasalahan utama lingkungan. Salah satu lembaga pendidikan di tingkat universitas yang telah mencanangkan eko-kampus adalah Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) khususnya di Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA). Namun demikian, untuk mewujudkan tujuan tersebut, hal terpenting yang harus dipertimbangkan adalah bagaimana cara membentuk sikap mahasiswa memiliki perilaku yang bertanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan (REB).Terkait dengan permasalahan tersebut, penelitian pra-eksperimen telah dilakukan untuk mendorong terwujudnya tiga aspek perilaku yang bertanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan pada mahasiswa jurusan Biologi kelas internasional 2012, meliputi, tindakan eko-manajemen, persuasi, dan tindakan konsumen/ekonomi, melalui penerapan program pendidikan lingkungan. Sebagai pendidikan seumur hidup, pendidikan lingkungan bertujuan untuk menunjukkan bahwa saling ketergantungan antara manus ia dan lingkungan diperlukan untuk meningkatkan kelestarian lingkungan hidup manusia untuk saat ini dan generasi yang akan datang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan berbagai teknik pengumpulan data meliputi, observasi, wawancara, angket dan tes. Berdasarkan analisis data secara deskriptif dan hasil pembahasan, diketahui bahwa kemampuan pengajar dalam mengelola aktivitas pembelajaran untuk setiap langkah pengajaran adalah baik. Kemudian, pelaksanaan program pendidikan lingkungan dapat mendorong tiga aspek perilaku yang bertanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan pada mahasiswa. Selain itu, pendidikan lingkungan yang telah diterapkan dalam penelitian ini memiliki dampak positif terhadap hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa pada mata kuliah pengetahuan lingkungan, terutama pada materi strategi untuk pembangunan berkelanjutan, berdasarkan pada standar penilaian UNESA.

Abstract

This study aims to produce LKPD based on communication and collaboration with CORE learning model a decent to improve learning outcomes and Train Communication Skills on students in the subject matter of the Nervous System in Humans. This research have used 4D development model that has been tested on students in class XI IPA 4, XI IPA 5, and XI IPA 6 in SMAN 18 Surabaya with research design one group pretest and posttest design. Research data has been obtained through the method of validation, observation, test, and questionnaire. The results are analyzed descriptively quantitative and qualitative. The results showed that: (a) LKPD with CORE learning model and learning tools developed categorized as valid; (b) the implementation of learning activities is very good; (c) student learning outcomes on the knowledge aspect increases with high criteria; (d) the students provide very positive response to the learning that has been implemented. Based on the analysis and discussion, it is concluded that LKPD with CORE learning model is suitable to be used to improve student learning outcomes on high school students.

Abstract

This research is conducted based on the unavailibility of the planning, process, and evaluation of learning which refers to the higher-order thinking skills as literacy needed to facilitate in twenty-first century science teaching and learning.  The purpose of the research is to develop a model of guided discovery learning through participatory biomonitoring activities to improve students' higher-order thinking skills on water pollution materials. The type of this research is development research which implemented in a grade VII at SMP Negeri 1 Deket Lamongan. The development of learning on package in the research carried out using 4-D model of Thiagarajan, wich consist of stages of development, namely: define, design, develop, without using disseminate stage. The result data from this research are: (1) the valid learning syllabus, lesson plans, student teaching materials, student worksheets, tests and assessment instruments, (2) the legibility of teaching materials and student worksheets show the excellent category, (3) feasibility of lesson plan syntax was considered good and reliable, (4) the understanding of the learning concept has been completed individually, classically, and indicators, (5) higher-order thinking skills of students’ can improved (6) the students’ activity showed successful and reliable, and (7) the students’ response to the learning activities were interested in they  feel something new, easy and interesting in using the model in teaching learning process. Based on the findings of this research it can be concluded that the matterial learning development of guided discovery models through participatory biomonitoring activities has feasibility, practically, and effectiveness of the good category  to use in and it could improve students higher-order thinking skills in the material of water pollution. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi belum tersedianya perencanaan, proses, dan evaluasi pembelajaran yang merujuk pada keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi sebagai literasi yang perlu dilatihkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran sains abad dua puluh satu. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran model guided discovery berbasis kegiatan biomonitoring partisipatif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa pada materi pencemaran air. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian pengembangan yang diimplementasikan di kelas VII di SMPN 1 Deket Lamongan. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Model 4-D dari Thiagarajan, yang terdiri dari tahap-tahap: define, design, develop, tanpa menggunakan tahap disseminate. Data hasil penelitian adalah: (1) Silabus Pembelajaran, RPP, Materi Ajar Siswa, LKS, dan Instrumen Penilaian Tes memperoleh kategori valid, (2)  Pemahaman siswa terhadap Materi Ajar Siswa dan LKS menunjukkan kategori sangat baik, (3) keterlaksanaan  sintaks pada RPP dinilai baik dan reliabel, (4) secara individual dan indikator, hasil belajar pemahaman konsep telah tuntas, (5) keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa meningkat (6) aktivitas siswa dinyatakan baik dan reliabel, dan (7) respon siswa terhadap komponen-komponen pembelajaran adalah merasa ketertarikan, merasakan kebaharuan, kemudahan dan menyatakan keberminatan terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran.  Berdasarkan temuan pada penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran model guided discovery berbasis kegiatan biomonitoring partisipatif memiliki kelayakan, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas yang baik sehingga dapat digunakan dan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa pada materi pencemaran air.

Abstract

This research development aims to determine the quality (validity, practicality, and effectiveness) of Physics Learning Material using Scientific Approach to Practice Students's Critical Thinking Skills in subject of fluid for student class XI Senior High School State 1 Batu Sopang. This research was implemented in two phases, namely the development of devices to follow the Morrison, Ross, Kalman, & Kemp’s design, continued implementation of the learning in the classroom using Pre- and Post-Design from Prunckun. The results showed that the developed device has a valid, practical, and effective. Valid visible from the validator assessment of the lesson plan RPP; student worksheets; students books achievement test; learning outcomes assessment instruments knowledge, performance, attitude, and critical thinking skills. Practical seen from the percentage feasibility study stage is 100 %; scores feasibility study in class XI-IA-1 is 3.71; XI-IA-2 3.72; and XI-IA-3 3.67; activities that support the scientific approach more dominant in learning and irrelevant activity has decreased every meeting; students responded positively to the process of learning and using a scientific approach that has been developed. Effective seen from individual mastery of knowledge learning outcomes of students of class XI-IA-1 is 88.00%; XI-IA-2 92.00%; XI- IA-3  87.00%; individual mastery of performance and attitude learning outcomes of students each class is 100 %; all students to increase critical thinking skills. Obstacles encountered in this study is times less efficient in guiding the students carry out experiments and practice critical thinking skills. The research showed that the physics learning material using scientific approach has valid, practical, and effective to improve learning outcomes and practice critical thinking skills. Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas (validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan) perangkat pembelajaran fisika melalui pendekatan saintifik untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dan melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada materi fluida untuk siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Batu Sopang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua tahap, yaitu pengembangan perangkat mengikuti rancangan Morrison, Ross, Kalman, & Kemp, dilanjutkan implementasi perangkat pembelajaran di kelas menggunakan Pre- and Post-Design dari Prunckun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat yang dikembangkan telah valid, praktis, dan efektif. Valid terlihat dari penilaian validator terhadap RPP; LKS; buku siswa; instrumen penilaian hasil belajar pengetahuan, keterampilan, sikap, dan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Praktis terlihat dari persentase keterlaksanaan tahapan pembelajaran sebesar 100%; skor keterlaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas XI-IA-1 sebesar 3,71; XI-IA-2 3,72; dan XI-IA-3 3,67; aktivitas yang mendukung pendekatan saintifik lebih dominan dalam pembelajaran dan aktivitas tidak relevan mengalami penurunan setiap pertemuan; siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap perangkat dan proses pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan saintifik yang telah dikembangkan. Efektif terlihat dari ketuntasan individual hasil belajar pengetahuan siswa kelas XI-IA-1 sebesar 88,00%; XI-IA-2 92,00%; XI-IA-3 87,00%; ketuntasan individual hasil belajar keterampilan dan sikap siswa setiap kelas sebesar 100%; semua siswa mengalami peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Kendala yang dihadapi dalam penelitian ini adalah kurang efisien waktu dalam membimbing siswa melaksanakan eksperimen dan melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran fisika menggunakan pendekatan saintifik telah valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dan melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.
