Abstract

This study aims to produce textbooks based on pop up science to train students' critical thinking skills in fifth grade elementary school, to describe the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of pop-up science-based textbooks to practice critical thinking skills on the material "System Digestion in Humans ". This research is a development research that refers to the development model of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation (ADDIE). Lesson plan with science-based textbooks pop up are then validated by experts. The results of the validation of the experts stated that the lesson plan with science-based textbooks pop up are valid for used. Furthermore, it was tested on the fifth grade students of Kandangan I / 121 state elementary school at Surabaya with One Group Pretest-Postest Design. The results of a limited scale trial showed that  (1) learning tools with science based pop-up textbooks that are developed in valid categories, (2) lesson plan that are developed practically based on the implementation of lesson plans that are categorized very well and student activities that are relevant to learning, (3) lesson plan which developed are effective based on the results of students' critical thinking skills tests which show that N-Gain 9 students are in the middle category, 6 students are in the high category, and the results of the paired samples t-test with Ho are rejected and the positive response given by the students . It can be concluded that the lesson plans with science-based textbooks pop up are appropriate for training the thinking skills of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an analog compression tester measuring instrument into a digital compression tester as a measurement tool that can provide effectiveness and efficiency to users. This research is a research and development or R&D. This research was conducted in several steps, namely: problem identification, information gathering, product design, product manufacture, expert validation, product revision, testing, final production. The development of analog compression tester was first validated by material experts, media experts, and 15 students, and 5 students for field trials. The subjects of this study were vocational students at Taman Karya Madya Teknik Kebumen. Data collection techniques used in this study using instruments in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis technique of this research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative descriptive percentage. The results of the development of digital compression tester designs are: 1) the tools and materials used are electric drill, grinding, cutter, goggles, gloves, masks, ruler, acetaminine welding, screwdriver, scissors, digital dial pressure gauge, hose, spark plugs, clamps , and nepel, 2) the manufacturing process that starts from the cutting process, the hole drilling process, the welding process and the process of connecting between components, 3) the workings of digital compression tester design that is reading the pressure or compression of the machine displayed on the monitor digitally using dial pressure digital gauge, 4) the test results obtained from the validation results from: a) material experts at 89% or Eligible; b) media experts at 85% or reasonable; c) response of field trial students in terms of ease of use and reading of 90% or feasible. Thus, the conclusion that the digital compression tester measuring instrument declared feasible to use for measurement.

Abstract

Penilaian yang sesuai tuntutan Kurikulum 2013 adalah penilaian autentik pada siswa, salah satunya adalah penilaian portofolio, Guru kesulitan membuat instrumen penilaian portofolio. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan instrumen penilaian portofolio dengan memberikan tugas-tugas dan melihat perkembangan tugas yang dibuat siswa pada laporan praktikum uji urin dan artikel gangguan kesehatan dan pola hidup sehat. Penelitian ini menggunakan model Research dan Development yang mengacu pada model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahap, yaitu Analysis (analisis), Design (perancangan), Develop (pengembangan), Implementation (implementasi) dan Evaluation (Evaluasi). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli – Agustus 2017. Intrumen penilaian portofolio pada laporan dan artikel yang dikembangkan telah divalidasi dinyatakan valid. Perolehan Data laporan dan artikel di Analisis melalui validitas empiris menggunakan Korelasi Pearson (r ≥ 0,444), Reliabilitas menggunakan Alpha – Cronbach (r ≥ 0,444), Keefektifan penggunaan instrumen portofolio dinyatakan efektif  ≥ 75%, dan Analisis Gain Score dan Uji t untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil penyusunan laporan dan artikel pada proses pembimbingan. Lembar angket respons guru dianalisis menggunakan skala likert. Hasil penelitian Instrumen Penilaian Portofolio yang dikembangkan valid, reliabel dan efektif dan respon  siswa dan guru biologi sebesar  95% dengan kategori sangat positif, Skor rata – rata yang diperoleh diuji menggunakan N-gain sebesar 0,82 memenuhi kriteria tinggi dan uji t (α=0,05) menunjukan perbedaan siginifikan antara pembimbingan produk ke - 1 dan ke – 2. Penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa instrumen penilaian portofolio pada materi Sistem Ekskresi kelas XI layak digunakan dan efektif dalam pelaksanaannya sesuai dengan tuntutan penilaian Kurikulum 2013.

Abstract

Protists topic contained many concepts that required a sample from the environment in order the students can understand the concepts easily. The student worksheet neede in learning proceses because of there was a topic, practical guides, items with examples of problems in the environment that could help students to understand the topic. Literacy of science was the ability of students to the problems of science related to the environment. Student worksheet based literacy of science was wished to help the students in guiding the practical as well as to collected data experimental results. This research was aimed to produce student worksheet based literacy of science and describe validity, practicality, and effectiveness of student worksheet based literacy of science on the topic Protists in an effort to improve learning outcomes for grade X senior high school. Student worksheet was developed using 3-D models (define, design, develope). The subjects were 20 students of grade X MIA 6 in SMAN 2 Sidoarjo. The validity of student activity sheet obtained based on the validation of two lecturers and teachers of biology SMAN 2 Sidoarjo. Practicality was obtained based on implementation to learning and student response. The effectiveness was obtained based on the results of student learning. The study of the validity indicated the percentage of student activity sheet based literacy of science were 97.63% so as to obtain very valid category. The results showed the percentage implementation  practicality of learning were 97.73%, so included in the category of very practical, while the percentage of students response to student worksheet based literacy of science is 93.5% with the category of very practical use in study. The results indicated the effectiveness of learning outcomes were the percentage of 82.81% so included in the category complete. So that, it could conclude that the developed worksheet was valid, practical and effective.Keywords:  Student worksheet, Science Literacy, Learning Outcomes, Protists.

Abstract

Animalia Kingdom is one of biology topics in grade X  that use observation activity in its learning. Teaching materials that contain student activities by making observations are needed to create active and effective learning. This research aimed to produce Observation Student Worksheet in English Version Invertebrates Materials for Grade X Based on Scientific Approach as well as describe its validity, practicality, and effectivity. The development of student worksheet was conducted at Biology Department, The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Universitas Negeri Surabaya used 4D Model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) and for the Disseminate stage not done. The trial was implemented in SMA Negeri 1 Bojonegoro using one group pretest and postest design.  The data of student worksheet validity, practicality, and effectivity was analyzed descriptive qualitatively. Based on validation result, student worksheet was valid (score 3.79). Based on learning effectiveness, student worksheet was practical (score 94.07%), students also give positive response to the worksheet (90.67%). The student worksheet was effective, based on the study result (80% of students can master the lesson). Based on the data obtained and analyzed, student worksheet was feasible to use in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness.   Key word: observation, student worksheet, scientific approach, invertebrates.

Abstract

Sistem pertahanan tubuh merupakan materi yang bersifat abstrak serta memiliki banyak konsep dan istilah.Untuk memudahkan siswa dalam memahami konsep dan istilah secara sederhana dan menyenangkan dalam pembelajaran yaitu dengan menggunakan permainan teka-teki silang (TTS) berbasis macromedia flash. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran teka-teki silang berbasis flash materi sistem pertahanan tubuh yang layak. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah ASSURE yang terdiri dari enam tahap pengembangan yaitu Analyze learner, State objective, Select methods, media, and materials, Utilize media and materials, Require learner participation dan Evaluate and revise. Uji coba dilakukan terbatas pada 25 siswa di SMA Wachid Hasjim Sidoarjo. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode validasi dan metode angket. Analisis data hasil validasi menggunakan kriteria skor skala likert dan dinyatakan layak jika rata-rata skor penilaiannya ≥75%. Analisis respons siswa diukur dengan skala guttman, media dikatakan layak jika mendapat skor ≥71%. Hasil validasi masuk dalam kategori valid dengan mendapatkan persentase sebesar 83,4%. Sedangkan respons siswa yang masuk dalam kategori layak dengan mendapatkan persentase kelayakan 78,8%. Berdasarkan hasil validasi dan respons siswa media flash materi sistem pertahanan tubuh untuk kelas XI SMA layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Abstract

The nervous system is a part of biology lesson contain various physiological mechanisms that allow students  misconceptions. The purpose of this research was describing student’s misconception profile and the cause of misconception using three-tier multiple choice diagnostic test. The type of the reseach was descriptive research with quantitative analysis. The research subjects were 60 students of XI IPA 1, IPA 2, and IPA 3 of SMA Negeri 16, biology teacher, and the learning material. Three-tier test was used for analysing student misconceptions of nervous system materials. The results of the research showed that the students' misconception profile was 41.14% on the eight topics of the nervous system submaterial with the highest misconception on the topic of neuron types and the function was 47.50%. Misconceptions were caused by the students, teacher, learning book, context, and learning method. Keywords : misconception, three-tier test, nervous system.

Abstract

Lembar kegiatan peserta didik berbasis Problem Based Learning berisi kegiatan yang terintegrasi dengan sintaks model Problem Based Learning sehingga dapat digunakan untuk melatihkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik dan cocok dalam pembelajaran Sistem Peredaran Darah, karena memiliki karakteristik materi yang mencakup permasalahan-permasalahan yang autentik yang dekat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan validitas lembar kegiatan peserta didik berbasis Problem Based Learning pada materi sistem peredaran darah untuk melatihkan keterampilan proses. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Validitas LKPD ditinjau berdasarkan telaah dan validasi para ahli. Validitas LKPD diukur berdasarkan validitas penyajian (teknik), validitas kebahasaan (konstruk), dan validitas isi. Hasil validasi LKPD memperoleh modus keseluruhan kategori sangat valid. Dengan demikian, LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning yang dikembangkan dinyatakan layak berdasarkan validitasnya dan dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Abstract

Dewasa ini, telah terjadi pergeseran pola belajar siswa. Siswa hanya termotivasi untuk mengerjakan soal-soal dengan cepat, tanpa sepenuhnya memahami konsep yang diujikan sehingga dapat berakibat pada miskonsepsi siswa. Miskonsepsi banyak ditemukan pada sejumlah materi pelajaran Biologi, salah satunya yaitu pada materi Sistem Gerak Manusia. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil miskonsepsi siswa pada materi Sistem Gerak Manusia dan penyebabnya. Subyek yang digunakan merupakan 35 siswa kelas XI MIA 1 dan 32 siswa kelas XI MIA 5 di SMA Negeri 21 Surabaya. Data diperoleh melalui teknik tes pada kedua kelas uji dan wawancara terhadap tiga orang siswa dengan nilai miskonsepsi tertinggi pada masing-masing kelas uji. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes diagnostik True-False Item yang disertai pilihan alasan dan Certainty of Response Index (CRI) yang dilengkapi dengan panduan pelaksanaan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil miskonsepsi siswa pada materi Sistem Gerak Manusia sebesar 32% pada kelas XI MIA 1 dan 30% pada kelas XI MIA 5. Miskonsepsi tertinggi terjadi pada pokok bahasan tentang struktur otot (54%) dan mekanisme relaksasi otot (56%). Kesimpulan dari penelitan ini adalah miskonsepsi yang terjadi pada kedua kelas uji termasuk pada kategori rendah. Faktor penyebab miskonsepsi pada siswa adalah faktor yang berasal dari siswa, guru, buku ajar dan cara mengajar. Kata Kunci: Certainty of Response Index,  miskonsepsi, Sistem Gerak Manusia.

Abstract

Peserta didik pada umumnya mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami istilah ilmiah yang terdapat pada materi fungi. Pemahaman yang kurang tersebut menyebabkan peserta didik kesulitan dalam mengingat istilah serta konsep yang telah diberikan sebelumnya. Pembelajaran mengenai istilah ilmiah dapat melalui permainan kosakata, salah satunya adalah Teka-Teki Silang (TTS). TTS mampu mengurangi rasa bosan peserta didik dan meningkatan daya ingat, sehingga kualitas belajar diharapkan meningkat. Kemampuan mengingat adalah kemampuan dasar dalam kognitif yang berhubungan dengan kemampuan kognitif lainnya yang seharusnya dikuasai oleh peserta didik. Jenis penelitian  ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah menghasilkan media TTS  untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengingat peserta didik berdasarkan kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan menggunakan metode ASSURE. Kegiatan ujicoba dilakukan secara terbatas pada 20 peserta didik kelas X MIA 5 SMA Hangtuah 2 Sidoarjo. Hasil penelitian TTS fungi ini memperoleh skor validasi sebesar 3,8 (Sangat valid), hasil aktivitas siswa dengan persentase sebesar 97% (sangat praktis) dan dengan  skor hasil belajar sebesar 100% (sangat efektif), respon positif 98% (sangat efektif), dan keterampilan komunikasi 3,85% (sangat efektif). Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa TTS pada materi fungi dinyatakan valid, praktis dan efektif serta layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran di sekolah .
