Abstract

Smallholder oil palm farming is the main livelihood in Batanghari District, although its productivity has not shown maximum results. Maximum productivity achieved, it is necessary for farmers to do their business efficiently. This study aims to analyze technical efficiency and socio-economic factors that affect the technical efficiency of smallholder oil palm farming in Batanghari District. The research sample was determined using the multistage sampling method, which was used to sample farmers using simple random sampling. The number of respondents was 100 farmers. The stochastic frontier production function was used for data analysis. The results showed that the average technical efficiency of oil palm farming was 0,89 and had reached efficiency. However, this level can still be increased by 0,11 to achieve the highest level of technical efficiency. The technical efficiency of farming is affected by socio-economic factors, namely farming experience, distance from home to the farm, and the existence of partnerships. Based on the study's results, the technical efficiency of oil palm cultivation can be improved by utilizing production parameters precisely and accurately and increasing farmers' resources to achieve maximum production. For sustainable agricultural development, further research is needed to analyze the economic efficiency of oil palm farming so that the overall picture of both technical and economic efficiency can be seen.

Abstract

Indonesia trades ten groups of wood in the Asia-Pacific region. Many forest industry problems occur during trade. Competition and interdependence in trade are research objectives. The research secondary data source is taken from UN Comtrade 2011-2021 and analyzed using the Export Similarity Index (ESI), Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Trade Complementarity Index (TCI), and Intra-Industry Trade (IIT) methods. The research results show that the wood export trade between Indonesia and competing countries competes weakly with each other in the six partner countries. Indonesia is competitive in the products SITC 245 (fuel wood (excluding wood waste) and wood charcoal), SITC 248 (wood, simply worked, and railway sleepers of wood), SITC 251 (pulp and waste paper), SITC 634 (veneers, plywood, particle board, and other wood, worked, n.e.s.), SITC 635 (wood manufactures, n.e.s.), and SITC 641 (paper and paperboard). On the other hand, Indonesia and partner countries almost complement each other as trading partners in terms of exports and imports of wood. However, the integration of Indonesian wood trade with partner countries is considered weak. Products SITC 248 (wood, simply worked, and railway sleepers of wood), SITC 251 (pulp and waste paper), SITC 641 (paper and paperboard), and SITC 642 (paper and paperboard, cut to size or shape, and articles of paper or paperboard) are several product industries that have led to intra-industry trade. Policy recommendations are to utilize resources optimally, develop the wood processing industry to produce finished wood products, and improve the quality and standards of wood products in accordance with policies in trade cooperation.

Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT The rubber commodity in Ogan Ilir Regency plays an important role in increasing family income, but currently the income of rubber farmers is still relatively low because farmers are still traditional in their marketing, causing the prices received by farmers to be low. The aim of this research is to determine the existing rubber marketing channels in Ogan Ilir. Sampling was carried out randomly. 75 samples were used in this research, with a population of rubber farmers, namely 236 farmers in Tanjung Batu District and 254 in Payaraman District. Locations were chosen purposively based on the same considerations, namely the subdistricts and villages that produce the largest rubber production. Data collection uses cross-section data. Rubber marketing efficiency is analyzed using marketing margin, farmer's share, profit to cost ratio and the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model. The research results show that rubber farmers in Ogan Ilir Regency use three marketing channel patterns. The most efficient marketing channel is marketing channel 1, namely (1) farmer-UPPB-factory and marketing channel 2 is an inefficient channel Keywords : marketing channel efficiency; rubber; UPPB.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze behavioral patterns and experiences of purchasing multivitamins after the COVID-19 pandemic and analyze the level of consumer knowledge regarding multivitamins. The research results show that there has been a decrease in the consumption and purchase of multivitamins after the Covid-19 pandemic. However, respondents are still accustomed to taking multivitamins from the last year until now. Many respondents buy multivitamins through pharmacies and e-commerce. Sources of information about multivitamins are mostly obtained from professionals and friends/relatives. Instagram and TikTok are social media that are sources of information search. The availability of information and packaging labels was considered by respondents to be very important when purchasing multivitamins. Most respondents trust and are satisfied with the multivitamins they have purchased and intend to purchase again. The level of knowledge of respondents regarding multivitamins is good. It needs to be explained that multivitamins are not a type of medicine that can cure disease and cannot be consumed long-term.
