Abstract

ABSTRACT The rubber commodity in Ogan Ilir Regency plays an important role in increasing family income, but currently the income of rubber farmers is still relatively low because farmers are still traditional in their marketing, causing the prices received by farmers to be low. The aim of this research is to determine the existing rubber marketing channels in Ogan Ilir. Sampling was carried out randomly. 75 samples were used in this research, with a population of rubber farmers, namely 236 farmers in Tanjung Batu District and 254 in Payaraman District. Locations were chosen purposively based on the same considerations, namely the subdistricts and villages that produce the largest rubber production. Data collection uses cross-section data. Rubber marketing efficiency is analyzed using marketing margin, farmer's share, profit to cost ratio and the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model. The research results show that rubber farmers in Ogan Ilir Regency use three marketing channel patterns. The most efficient marketing channel is marketing channel 1, namely (1) farmer-UPPB-factory and marketing channel 2 is an inefficient channel Keywords : marketing channel efficiency; rubber; UPPB.

Abstract

People's Business Credit (KUR) is a credit scheme intended for farmers since 2000. The availability of credit for business actors is used to increase capital. However, not all credit obtained can be categorized as effective. Credit is effective if farmers can receive benefits from the disbursement and use of credit to meet farming activities, and one of which is increasing productivity.. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of KUR for sugarcane farmers in West Java Province. This research uses a quantitative descriptive analysis method using scoring. The results showed that the average score of timely credit effectiveness was 103%.. The timeliness score is greater than 100%, meaning that the average credit is on time. Credit is already available before farmers start farming, so that on average, all farming activities can be carried out on time, except for the procurement of fertilizer and cultivation costs. The average accuracy of the amount of credit with the realization of expenditure is 85%, below 100%. This means that credit for the procurement of inputs and farming activities is still not effective, especially for the amount of fertilizer and herbicides. The level of effectiveness of sugarcane farmer credit is at a score of 87.3% to 106.1%, with an average farmer credit effectiveness rate of 94%.  This means that, on average, farmers have credit that is ineffective. Most farmers are late in receiving credit disbursements, and the amount of credit received is less than their farming needs.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the world’s largest producers of essential oils; however, its export competitiveness in the Chinese market has fluctuated over time. This study aims to analyze the level and dynamics of Indonesia’s essential oil export competitiveness compared to other major exporting countries in the Chinese market. The research uses secondary time-series data from 2011 to 2023 obtained from Trade Map. Competitiveness is assessed using the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) and Dynamic Revealed Comparative Advantage (DRCA) methods. The findings reveal that Indonesia generally demonstrates strong competitiveness, except in 2011 when it was weak and in 2022 when it was moderate. Based on DRCA, Indonesia was classified as a “rising star” in 2011–2013 and 2017–2019, a “falling star” in 2013–2015, a “lost opportunity” in 2019–2021, and experienced a decline to the “lagging retreat” position in 2015–2017 and 2021–2023. These fluctuations are influenced by unstable production, limited product innovation, and quality standards that do not fully align with market requirements. To strengthen its competitiveness, Indonesia must enhance product quality, adopt technological innovations, and foster collaboration among stakeholders.
