Abstract

Indonesia's extraodinary plant biodiversity remains underutilised in microbial bioprospecting, despite its vast potential to support sustainable biotechnological innovation. This study aims to explore and characterise endophytic microorganisms associated with selected Indonesian medicinal plants, focusing on their genetic and functional traits relevant to bioactive compound production. Addressing a gap in integrative profiling, the study adopts a qualitative literature-based methodology, synthesising findings from over 30 peer-reviewed, Scopus-indexed studies published between 2015 and 2024. These studies involve next-generation sequencing, biosynthetic gene cluster (BGC) analysis, and in vitro functional assays. Notably, endophytes isolated from plants such as Curcuma longa, Andrographis paniculata, and Phyllanthus niruri harbour diverse and unique BGCs, including non-ribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPS) and polyketide synthases (PKS), which are linked to antimicrobial, enzymatic, and plant growth-promoting activities. The originality of this study lies in its interdisciplinary synthesis bridging microbial ecology, genomics, and biotechnology, contributing to the theoretical advancement of microbial symbiosis and offering practical implications for natural product development, sustainable agriculture, and Indonesia's emerging bioeconomy

Abstract

Mining activities in Mandailing Natal Regency, particularly in Kota Nopan, Huta Bargot, and Batang Natal Districts, play a significant role in the local economy while simultaneously generating complex legal, environmental, and social problems. Despite the existence of comprehensive national regulations such as the Mineral and Coal Mining Law and regional bylaws, enforcement remains weak, as indicated by the persistence of illegal mining (PETI), environmental degradation, and conflicts of interest among various stakeholders. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of mining law enforcement by employing a juridical-empirical approach that combines the review of statutory regulations, secondary data, and field observations in three sample districts. The findings reveal that law enforcement is far from optimal due to structural constraints, including limited institutional capacity and inconsistent implementation, as well as cultural and economic factors, such as the community’s dependence on mining as a primary livelihood. Moreover, political and economic interests often weaken oversight and create selective enforcement, further widening the gap between regulation and practice. The study emphasizes that law enforcement in the mining sector should not rely solely on repressive measures but must be integrated with community empowerment, sustainable livelihood alternatives, and the strengthening of institutional governance. Therefore, reforming regional regulations, improving inter-agency coordination, enhancing law enforcement capacity, and ensuring active community participation are crucial steps to build legal, fair, and sustainable mining governance in Mandailing Natal.

Abstract

Antimicrobial resistance is one of the major challenges in modern healthcare that requires strong managerial attention and a supportive organizational culture. This study aims to analyze the influence of strategic management planning and organizational culture on healthcare workers’ compliance in the implementation of the Antimicrobial Resistance Control Program (PPRA) at RSUD Sayang Cianjur. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. A total of 100 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results indicate that strategic management planning has a positive and significant influence on healthcare workers’ compliance. Similarly, organizational culture also shows a positive and significant influence. Simultaneously, both variables explain 83.2% of the variance in healthcare workers’ compliance. These findings highlight the importance of synergy between managerial approaches and the development of organizational culture in supporting the successful implementation of the PPRA. This study contributes both theoretically and practically to hospital management in designing system-based interventions supported by a strong and professional work culture

Abstract

The process of processing corn leaf disease data using the VGG 19 architecture based on deep learning is to analyze corn leaf diseases that result in low yields. In describing the values to be managed in this study, a digital image dataset of corn leaf diseases consisting of 5 classes with 3923 images per class was used. The objectives of this study are to enable easy prediction of corn leaf disease and to treat the disease. It also aims to enable pattern recognition of corn leaf disease based on digital images using the VGG19 architecture model. The results of corn leaf disease classification obtained from the VGG19-based model show excellent performance in identifying various plant health conditions. With an overall accuracy of 97.96%, this model successfully distinguishes between five disease classes, namely Common Rust, Grey Leaf Spot, Healthy, Northern Leaf Blight, and Northern Leaf Spot. This figure reflects the effectiveness of the model in recognizing the distinctive visual patterns of each disease, which is very important for effective crop management.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of green building practices in the framework of sustainable construction in infrastructure projects in Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document studies on several projects that have applied green building principles. The results show that the application of principles such as energy efficiency, water conservation, and the use of environmentally friendly materials has begun to be carried out, albeit with varying levels of application. Green buildings are proven to provide long-term economic and environmental benefits, including energy savings and reduced carbon emissions. However, challenges are still faced, such as a lack of understanding of industry players, limited experts, and uneven supporting policies. This study recommends strengthening policies, sustainable education, and the use of technology and regulatory incentives to accelerate the adoption of green buildings. The results of this study make an important contribution in encouraging the transformation of the construction sector towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly direction.

Abstract

This thesis discusses the rights of workers in bankruptcy situations which have been regulated in the Manpower Law and the Bankruptcy Law, but their implementation still faces obstacles, especially related to the priority order of payments when compared to other creditors. Constitutional Court Decision Number 67/PUU-XI/2013 confirms that the obligation to pay wages to workers must take priority over all other types of creditors, including separatist creditors. This study aims to answer two problem formulations: (1) Are workers who experience termination of employment (PHK) due to the company going bankrupt in their position as preferred creditors entitled to other wages that have not been paid? and (2) How is the mechanism for payment of workers' rights to other wages that have not been paid compared to other creditors in the bankruptcy process. The research method used is normative juridical with a statutory, conceptual, and comparative approach. The results of the study show that workers who experience termination of employment (PHK) due to the company going bankrupt have the position of preferred creditors as regulated in Article 95 paragraph (4) of the Manpower Law and Article 39 paragraph (2) of Law Number 37 of 2004 concerning Bankruptcy and PKPU. This position gives priority rights to workers for payment of wages, including other wages that have not been paid. Thus, workers are entitled to other wages even though the company is in a state of bankruptcy, as long as it is recognized in the list of receivables. In the bankruptcy process, the mechanism for payment of workers' rights takes priority over concurrent creditors, but does not necessarily exclude separatist creditors (holders of property security rights). The order of payment begins with the settlement of bankruptcy costs, then workers' rights, only after that the remaining bankruptcy assets are used to pay separatist and concurrent creditors. With this mechanism, workers obtain legal protection for their wage rights, although in practice there are often obstacles due to the limited value of the available bankruptcy assets.

Abstract

Objective: This research aims to analyze the factors that influence the decision to purchase second-hand clothing (thrifting) through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach that focuses on psychological, social, economic, and environmental aspects to provide a more holistic understanding of the thrifting phenomenon in Indonesia. Method: This research was conducted using the SLR approach based on the guidelines of Kitchenham and Charters (2007). A total of 20 journals published in the last 5 years with a focus on second-hand clothing purchasing decisions were selected through an online searching on Google Scholar. The research involved the stages of planning, implementation, and reporting, with article selection based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The results showed that second-hand clothing purchasing decisions were influenced by environmental awareness, social media trends, lifestyle orientation, and product quality and affordable price factors. Social media has become an important platform in driving consumer interest in thrifting, while sustainability aspects are increasingly becoming a major consideration in purchasing. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in the application of the SLR approach to explore second-hand clothing purchasing decisions with a primary focus on the Indonesian context. This research provides theoretical contributions on the integration of psychological, social, and environmental factors, while also offering strategic insights for thrifting entrepreneurs in Indonesia to develop evidence-based marketing strategies. This research is expected to be a primary reference in the literature on sustainable consumerism.
