Abstract

The decline in global and national economic growth encourages investors to be more careful in making investment decisions, especially in the sharia capital market. This research aims to form an optimal sharia stock portfolio in the IDX Shariah Growth index using the Sharia-Compliant Capital Asset Pricing Model (SCAPM) method as a development of CAPM in accordance with sharia principles. This research is an applied research with a quantitative approach using secondary data in the form of the monthly closing price of IDX Shariah Growth shares for the period December 2022 to May 2025 as well as sukuk yield level data from the Ministry of Finance. The analysis is carried out by applying SCAPM to estimate expected returns, risks, and form an optimal portfolio, with the help of Microsoft Excel. The results of the study show that of the 30 stocks listed in the IDX Shariah Growth index, there are 10 stocks that meet the criteria as optimal stocks and can form an efficient portfolio. Among several portfolio alternatives, the portfolio with the highest number of returned stocks is chosen as the optimal portfolio because it produces the highest returns with still acceptable risk, as indicated by the highest Sharpe ratio value as well as performance above model expectations.

Abstract

Increasing rice production is the main pillar in realizing national food self-sufficiency. South Sulawesi Province, especially Sidenreng Rappang Regency (Sidrap), plays a strategic role as one of Indonesia's food barns. This paper aims to analyze the performance of the Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) in downstreaming rice cultivation technology and its impact on farmer productivity. Through the case study method, it was found that BPP plays a crucial role as a bridge of innovation between research institutions and farmers. The technology downstream strategy implemented includes the use of new superior varieties (VUB), legowo row planting system, balanced fertilization, and Integrated Pest Control (PHT). The results of the analysis show that despite the constraints in the form of capital limitations and resistance to changes in traditional methods, the intensive performance of extension workers through field assistance is able to significantly increase the efficiency of farming and production yields. In conclusion, strengthening the function of BPP and accelerating the adoption of mechanization technology is the main key in maintaining the sustainability of food self-sufficiency in South Sulawesi.

Abstract

Persistent deficits in students’ conceptual understanding of science, particularly within Indonesian secondary education, underscore the urgent need for evidence-based instructional interventions that transcend conventional, transmission-oriented pedagogical practice. This study examined whether the implementation of the Anticipation Guide (AG) strategy produces a significantly greater improvement in seventh-grade students’ conceptual understanding of science compared to conventional lecture-based instruction. A quasi-experimental nonequivalent pretest–posttest control group design was adopted. Fifty-two seventh-grade students from SMP Negeri 1 Geyer were assigned to an experimental class (n = 26; AG-based instruction) and a control class (n = 26; conventional lecture-based instruction). Both classes studied the topic of Earth and the Solar System over four 80-minute sessions. Conceptual understanding was assessed using a validated 25-item multiple-choice instrument with a KR-20 reliability coefficient of 0.78. The Shapiro–Wilk test confirmed non-normal score distributions; accordingly, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test was employed for inferential analysis. Normalized Gain (N-Gain) scores were computed to quantify the practical magnitude of pre-to-post improvement. The experimental class demonstrated a statistically significant pre-to-post improvement (Z = −4.489, p < 0.001; N-Gain = 0.436, Moderate category) alongside a pronounced reduction in score variance (34.46 → 10.15). No significant improvement was observed in the control class (Z = −1.003, p = 0.317; N-Gain = 0.012, Low category). The AG strategy, by activating prior knowledge, scaffolding evidence-based evaluation of scientific texts, and reinforcing conceptual consolidation through post-reading reflection, constitutes a significantly more effective instructional approach than conventional direct instruction for promoting conceptual understanding in secondary science education. The study contributes empirical evidence to the limited body of research on reading-based epistemic strategies in under-resourced secondary school contexts.
