Abstract

Growth and biochemical content of medicinal crops are influenced by agroecosystems characteristics . The objective of this research was to determine the optimum shading level and type of fertilizer as sources of nutrition on the growth, yield, and andrographolide content of sambiloto. The experiment used Split Plot Design with basic design of Randomized Complete Block Design arranged with two treatment factors, with three replications. The first factor as the main plot was shading levels, namely without shading, 25% shading, 50% shading, and 75% shading. The second factor as the sub plot was sources of nutrition reprented by type of fertilizer, namely NPK fertilizer, cow stable fertilizer, and compost fertilizer. The result of research indicated that shading level and the kind of nutrition influenced some growth and yield variables such as number of leaves, number of branches, plant height, plant dry weight and simplisia weight, and andrographolide content. Interaction of shading level at 25% and straw compost fertilizer performed best in growth characteristics, while the highest andrographolide content resulted from the treatment combination of 50% shading level and straw compost fertilizer. Keywords: fertilizer, nutrition, shading, andrographolide, Andrographis paniculata

Abstract

Waste management in a number of areas in the country is still limited and is still a problem for the environment. One way to manage waste wisely is by using it as a medium for cultivating BSF fly maggots (black soldier flies). That's why the Regular Community Service Team at Muhammadiyah University, Enrekang, Bone-bone Village Command Post, Baraka District, Enrekang Regency is cultivating BSF fly maggots in Bone-bone village. The aim of this program is to empower Bone-bone village residents to manage organic waste by cultivating BSF fly maggots into animal feed. The implementation method is by conducting training and at the same time practicing with the local Bone-bone village community and making BSF fly cages directly. The result of this activity is that animal feed is produced in the form of BSF fly maggots and organic fertilizer in packaged form ready to be marketed. The evaluation results also show that there is positive enthusiasm from residents to carry out the same cultivation.

Abstract

The study's main goal is to thoroughly investigate how the Takalar Sugar Factory impacts the creation of business opportunities within the community, as well as to assess the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from the community's perspective. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, gathering data through observation, interviews, and documentation of a research object. The data will then be analyzed by conducting conclusive interviews with both the community and the factory's workforce, drawing conclusions based on past and present conditions. The findings from the research on the community and the factory's workforce reveal that opening grocery and culinary stalls presents the most promising opportunity to boost community income. This is especially beneficial for workers, as evidenced by the implementation of CSR programs. However, some individuals are unaware of these programs due to insufficient company outreach regarding CSR initiatives and potential business opportunities. The sugar cane crop produced by the factory has a daily milling production target, requiring extensive networks for quick consumer marketing. This presents an opportunity for the community to participate in sugar distribution to consumers.

To see it’s the effectiveness of implementation as an effort to develop KIH, it is necessary to evaluate the implementation of KIH. Type of research Evaluation with an evaluation model used to find CIPP which aims to find the Context, Inputs, Processes, and Products of KIH. The technique of collecting data was using study documentation, in-depth interview, observation, and active participation, using a research protocol. Data analysis by data validity and classifying data according to focus and research questions, combining data in the form of matrices or tables and triangulation strategies to describe the results of the analysis and research findings. The results of the evaluation, objectives, process, and implementation of the KIH as a whole have been carried out, but not all activities are by the implementation guidelines that have been set. The focus of activities is not appropriate and requires improvement by evaluation standards, namely the formulation of objectives, setting targets, infrastructure, and the KIH implementation team of facilitators. Recommendations for the implementing team should come from Interprofessional Collaboration (IPC), in the process of implementing the KIH it is expected and suitable with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), the need to develop KIH model that is needed for high-risk pregnant women.
