Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate biochemical changes (cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL, LDL, glucose, and plasma protein) on striped catfish Pangasianodon hypophthalmus broodstock induced with PMSG hormone and turmeric addition. An observation was also done to blood glycogen content. The striped catfish broodstock was fed on commercial feed without any addition (control) and with turmeric addition (HKu). In control treatment, there was a decreasing on cholesterol, meanwhile, the triglyceride (TG) value was increased. The HDL concentration was decreased in 2nd sampling and increased in 4th sampling. In 1st until 4th sampling, glucose was quite stable, while LDL was on extremely low concentration. In HKu treatment, the cholesterol value was higher than the control treatment. The TG concentration also higher than control in 3rd sampling and decreased in 4th sampling. The HDL concentration was increased and higher than the control treatment, while LDL concentration was lower. The liver glycogen content on the control and HKu treatment were 0.015 (mg/100 mL) and 0.181 (mg/100 mL) respectively; while in the flesh of the control and HKu treatment were 0.76 (mg/100 mL) and 1.19 (mg/100 mL) respectively; and in the gonad of control and HKu treatment were 0.10 (mg/100 mL) and 0.70 (mg/100 mL) respectively. It was shown that the glycogen content in the liver, flesh, and gonad on experimental fish was higher than control treatment. Keywords : biochemistry, hormone, turmeric, channel catfish, reproduction  ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perubahan biokimia (kolesterol, trigliserida, HDL, LDL, glukosa dan protein plasma) induk ikan patin Pangasianodon hypophthalmus yang diberi perlakuan hormon PMSG dan kunyit (HKu). Pengamatan juga dilakukan terhadap glikogen dalam darah induk patin. Induk ikan patin diberi pakan tanpa penambahan kunyit (kontrol) dan pakan yang diberi HKu. Hasil penelitian pada kontrol menunjukkan adanya penurunan kolesterol, sedangkan pada TG mengalami peningkatan. HDL menurun pada sampling ke‒2 dan meningkat pada sampling ke‒4. Sementara itu, pada LDL rendah sekali dan pada glukosa terlihat stabil dari sampling ke‒1 sampai ke‒4. Pada perlakuan HKu terlihat bahwa pada kolesterol menghasilkan nilai lebih tinggi dibanding kontrol. Pada TG terlihat juga nilai lebih tinggi dibanding kontrol pada sampling ke‒3 dan menurun pada sampling ke‒4. Konsentrasi HDL meningkat dan lebih tinggi dibanding kontrol, sedangkan nilai LDL lebih rendah. Data yang diperoleh pada kadar glikogen hati perlakuan kontrol adalah 0,015 (mg/100 mL) dan HKu 0,181 (mg/100 mL); sedangkan pada daging kontrol sebesar 0,76 (mg/100 mL) dan HKu 1,19 (mg/100 mL); serta gonad kontrol 0,10 (mg/100 mL) dan HKu 0,70 (mg/100 mL). Hal ini menunjukkan kadar glikogen pada hati, daging, dan gonad ikan yang diberi perlakuan bernilai lebih tinggi dibanding kontrol.           Kata kunci : biokimia, hormon, kunyit, ikan patin, reproduksi

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study was conducted to evaluate the digestibility of biofloc meal collected from catfish culture as a feed raw material for Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei diet. A basal feed with 43% crude protein content was used as a control diet and mixed with 2% of binders and 0.5 % of Cr2O3 as a marker for digestibility. The experimental diets were made by mixing 67.5% of the basal diet with 30% of biofloc meal, 2% of binders and 0.5 % of Cr2O3. Nine units of glass tanks (90 cm ×40 cm× 35 cm) filled with 100 L seawater were used as the experimental culture units. White shrimp with an average body weight of 5.61 ± 0.09 g was randomly distributed to each experimental tank at a density of 20 shrimp/tank. The feed was offered at a level of 5% shrimp biomass per day at a frequency of four times a day. The results showed that the dry matter digestibility of feed with 30% biofloc meal in shrimp were similar to that of the reference diet. However, protein and fat digestibility of feed containing biofloc meal were considerably higher than those of the reference diet. Feeding shrimp with 30% biofloc meal diet resulted in higher survival and specific growth rate and lower feed conversion ratio than those of the control. The digestibility of bioflocs dry matter, protein and lipid in Pacific white shrimp obtained in this study were 54.9%, 76.3% and 79.3%, respectively.Keywords: biofloc, digestibility, catfish, shrimp  ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi kecernaan tepung bioflok yang diambil dari media pemeliharaan ikan lele sebagai bahan pakan udang vaname Litopenaeus vannamei. Pakan yang mengandung kadar protein 43% digunakan sebagai pakan control dan dicampur dengan 2% binder dan 0.5% Cr2O3 sebagai marker untuk kecernaan. Pakan perlakuan dibuat dengan mencampurkan 67.5% pakan control dengan 30% tepung bioflok, 2% binder dan 0.5% Cr2O3. Penelitian menggunakan sembilan unit akuarium (90 cm ×40 cm ×35 cm) yang diisi 100 L air laut. Udang vaname dengan bobot rata-rata 5.61 ± 0.09 g ditebar secara acak pada setiap akuarium perlakuan pada kepadatan 20 ekor/akuarium. Pakan diberikan dengan tingkat pemberian pakan 5% biomassa per hari sebanyak empat kali sehari. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kecernaan pakan dengan 30% tepung bioflok tidak berbeda nyata dengan pakan acuan. Namun kecernaan protein dan lemak pakan yang mengandung tepung bioflok terlihat lebih tinggi daripada pakan kontrol. Pemberian pakan dengan tepung bioflok sebanyak 30% juga menghasilkan tingkat kelangsungan hidup, laju pertumbuhan spesifik udang dan rasio konversi pakan yang lebih baik daripada udang yang diberi pakan kontrol. Kecernaan bahan, protein dan lemak tepung bioflok pada udang yang didapat dalam penelitian masing-masing adalah 54.9%, 76.3% dan 79.3%.Kata-kata kunci: bioflok, ikan lele, kecernaan, udang

Abstract

ABSTRACT Carotenoids were known as pigment sources, the precursor of vitamin A, potential antioxidant and can improve the health status of fish. Furthermore, there are also studies that reveal the role of carotenoids in bone formation and metabolism. This study was conducted to determine the effect of different carotenoids at two different doses in the feed on growth, pigmentation, vitamin A conversion, blood profile, antioxidant activity, and calcium bone of the rainbow fish. Twenty-one aquariums with a volume of 20 L each stocked with 20 fish (1.08 ± 0.03 g of body weight and 4.56 ± 0.07 cm of body length). The experiment applied seven experimental diets (in triplicates) consisted of three types of carotenoids were astaxanthin (AS), canthaxanthin (CS), and lutein (LS) and two doses (130 and 260 mg/kg), i.e. AS-130, AS-260, CS-130, CS-260, LS-130, LS-260 and basal (without carotenoids) as the control. The fish were fed for 56 days of experimental period. The results showed that carotenoid diets were able to increase growth, total carotenoids, percentages of chromatophores, vitamin A conversion, erythrocyte, leukocytes, packed cell volume (PCV), neutrophils, and hemoglobin (Hb) compared to the control. Fish fed dietary astaxanthin at a level of 260 mg/kg was superior compared to other diets. Dietary carotenoids were also capable of decreasing the endogenous antioxidant activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malonyl dialdehyde (MDA) and increased the calcium level in fish bone than basal diet. Keywords: carotenoids, growth, health status, Melanotaenia parva, pigmentation  ABSTRAK Karotenoid diketahui sebagai sumber pigmen, prekursor vitamin A, antioksidan potensial dan dapat meningkatkan status kesehatan ikan. Selain itu, karotenoid juga memiliki peran dalam formasi dan metabolism tulang. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh jenis dan dosis karotenoid yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan, pigmentasi, konversi vitamin A, gambaran darah, aktifitas antioksidan dan kalsium tulang ikan rainbow Kurumoi. Sebanyak 20 ekor ikan (bobot tubuh rata-rata 1,08 ± 0,03 g dan panjang total rata-rata 4,56 ± 0,07 cm) dan diberi makan pakan yang mengandung karotenoid. Pakan uji terdiri atas tiga jenis karotenoid dengan tiga ulangan yaitu astaksantin (AS), cantaksantin (CS), dan lutein (LS) dan dua dosis (130 dan 260 mg/kg) dikodekan dengan AS-130, AS-260, CS-130, CS-260, LS-130, LS-260 dan basal (tanpa karotenoid) sebagai kontrol. Ikan diberi makan selama 56 hari pemeliharaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karotenoid dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan, total karotenoid, persentase kromatofora, konversi vitamin A, eritrosit, leukosit, hematokrit, neutrofil, dan hemoglobin dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Ikan yang diberi pakan mengandung astaksantin 200 mg/kg lebih baik dibandingkan denga pakan uji lainnya. Pakan yang mengandung karotenoid juga mampu menurunkan antioksidan endogenus superoxide dismutase (SOD) dan malonyl dialdehyde (MDA), serta meningkatkan kalsium tulang ikan dibandingkan pakan kontrol. Keywords: Melanotaenia parva, karotenoid, pertumbuhan, pigmentasi, status kesehatan.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe study proposed to discover the optimum protein content and energy-protein ratio in practical diet for snakehead, Channa striata. The experiment applied complete randomized design, consisted of six treatments with four replications on each treatment. The treatments were: A (32.5%; 11.82 kcal GE/g), B (32.5%; 13.32 kcal GE/g), C (37.17%; 10.64 kcal GE/g), D (37.33%; 12.07 kcal GE/g), E (43.08%; 10.02 kcal GE/g), and F (42.88%; 10.66 kcal GE/g). Snakehead with average weight of 6.21 ± 0.03 g were reared for 8 weeks. The treatments showed significant results. Increased protein dietary level had increased the growth rate and treatment with high energy-protein ratio at the same protein dietary level provided better growth performance. However, increased energy-protein ratio at E and F treatments caused a decline in growth performance. The improvement of energy-protein dietary ratio had positive correlation with the level of lipid and protein content in fish body. Similar finding was found in liver and muscle glycogen. The results also showed that the increament of energy-protein dietary ratio was significantly and positively correlated with cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL, glucose, and albumin, yet it had no significant effect on LDL. It can be concluded that excellent growth performance was achieved by protein dietary level of 37.33% and energy-protein ratio of 12.07 kcal GE/g.Keywords: energy-protein ratio, growth, snakehead ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh kadar protein dan rasio energi-protein pakan buatan yang optimum bagi performa pertumbuhan ikan gabus. Penelitian ini mengaplikasikan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 6 perlakuan, yaitu: A (32,78%;11,82  kkal GE/g), B (32,56%;13,32 kkal GE/g), C (37,17%:10,64 kkal GE/g), D (37,33%:12,07 kkal GE/g), E (43,08%:10,02 kkal GE/g), dan F (42,88%:10,66 kkal GE/g) dan masing-masing terdiri 4 ulangan. Bobot rata-rata ikan gabus yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu 6,21 ± 0,03 g dan dipelihara selama 8 minggu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kadar protein pakan meningkatkan laju pertumbuhan, dan perlakuan dengan rasio energi-protein tinggi pada level protein pakan yang sama memberikan kinerja pertumbuhan yang lebih baik. Namun demikian, pada perlakuan E dan F, peningkatan rasio energi-protein menyebabkan penurunan kinerja pertumbuhan. Peningkatan rasio energi-protein pakan berkorelasi positif terhadap kadar lemak dan protein tubuh ikan. Hal yang sama juga terjadi pada glikogen hati dan otot. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan rasio energi-protein pakan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) dan  berkorelasi positif terhadap kolesterol, trigliserida, HDL, dan albumin, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap LDL  (P>0.05). Kesimpulan yang didapat adalah kinerja pertumbuhan optimal dihasilkan oleh kadar protein pakan 37,33% dan rasio energi protein pakan 12,07 kkal GE/g.Kata kunci: albumin, energi, ikan gabus, pertumbuhan, protein

Abstract

ABSTRACT Ornamental fish is non consumption fish which is an important source of Indonesian foreign exchange. The objective of this study is to analyze the productivity of bronze corydoras Corydoras aeneus ornamental fish through increased stocking density with biofloc technology. The average weight of the experimental corydoras was 0.61 ‒0.72 g with 2.32‒2.40 cm standard length. This study used a randomized design method with biofloc technology treatment in 3000, 4500, and 6000 fish/m2 stocking densities. The results showed that the daily length and weight-growth rate among treatments were not significantly different (P>0.05), while survival rate and the number of fish production on all treatments were significantly different (P<0.05). The water quality during the rearing period, such as temperature, pH, alkalinity, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate, were in a tolerable range for corydoras culture. The total suspended solids tended to be higher due to higher stocking density. The best productivity using biofloc technology obtained from 6000 fish/m2 stocking density. Keywords: Biofloc technology, Corydoras aeneus, growth rate, stocking density, survival rate. ABSTRAK Ikan hias merupakan produk perikanan non konsumsi yang menjadi sumber devisa Indonesia yang cukup penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis produktivitas ikan hias koridoras melalui peningkatan padat tebar dengan teknologi bioflok. Ikan yang digunakan adalah ikan hias koridoras (Corydoras aeneus) berbobot 0,61‒0,72 g dan panjang baku 2,32‒2,40 cm. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan perlakuan teknologi bioflok pada padat tebar 3000, 4500, dan 6000 ekor/m2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa laju pertumbuhan harian panjang dan bobot antar perlakuan tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05), sedangkan kelangsungan hidup dan jumlah produksi ikan pada semua perlakuan berbeda nyata (P<0,05). Nilai kualitas air selama pemeliharaan yakni suhu, pH, alkalinitas, amonia, nitrit, dan nitrat yang berada pada kisaran yang cukup baik untuk budidaya ikan. Total padatan tersuspensi cenderung tinggi akibat dari semakin tinggi padat tebar. Produktivitas terbaik pada budidaya ikan koridoras dengan teknologi bioflok adalah pada padat tebar 6000 ekor/m2. Kata kunci:  Corydoras aeneus, kelangsungan hidup, padat tebar, pertumbuhan, teknologi bioflok

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the optimum dose of melastoma Melastoma malabathricum leaf extract that can inhibit the gonad development of Nile tilapia and increase its growth rate. This study used a completely randomized design containing five extract dose treatments (0, 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 g/kg diet doses) and three replications. The undifferentiated Nile tilapia larvae (7 days post hatching) were randomly distributed (n=30) to fifteen aquaria (100×50×50 cm3) and maintained for 112 days using a common recirculation system. The results showed that all dose treatments were not significantly different (P>0.05) in gonadosomatic index values of the D84 and D98 samplings. However, the 1 g/kg diet (D112) was significantly different (P<0.05) in all dose treatments. The final histological results (D112) showed that the 1 g/kg diet obtained the highest inhibition level of the testis and ovary developments, which were still in stage II compared to 0.5 g/kg diet (stage III) and control (stage IV and V). The highest average weight, absolute growth rate, and specific growth rate were obtained in the 1 g/kg diet dose which was significantly different (P<0.05) compared to the control. The percentage of males increased significantly (P<0.05) following the increased dose treatment fed to the fish (4 g/kg diet) with 80.12±4.67%, but the survival rate significantly decreased (P<0.05) compared to the control. The administration of 1 g/kg diet dose obtained the best dose and potential as an inhibiting agent for gonad development in Nile tilapia. Keywords: Melastoma malabathricum, gonad inhibition, cytosterol, Oreochromis niloticus ABSTRAK Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan dosis optimum ekstrak daun melastoma Melastoma malabathricum yang dapat menghambat perkembangan gonad ikan nila sehingga meningkatkan laju pertumbuhan somatik dan mengevaluasi efektivitasnya sebagai agen seks reversal alami. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap yang terdiri atas lima perlakuan (dosis 0; 0,5; 1,0; 2,0; dan 4,0 g/kg pakan) dan tiga ulangan. Larva ikan nila sebelum kelamin terdiferensiasi (7 hari pascatetas) secara acak (n=30) dimasukkan ke dalam 15 buah akuarium (100×50×50 cm3) dan dipelihara selama 112 hari pada sistem resirkulasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa semua perlakuan tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) terhadap nilai GSI pada sampling D84 dan D98. Namun, perlakuan 1 g/kg pakan pada sampling D112 berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dengan semua perlakuan. Hasil histologi terakhir (D112) menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan 1 g/kg pakan mengindikasikan penghambatan perkembangan testis dan ovari yang paling besar yang masing-masing berada pada TKG II, dibandingkan dengan perlakuan 0,5 g/kg pakan (TKG III), dan dibandingkan dengan kontrol (TKG IV dan TKG V). Pengamatan terhadap bobot rata-rata, laju pertumbuhan mutlak, dan laju pertumbuhan harian tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan 1 g/kg pakan yang berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Persentase jantan meningkat secara signifikan (P<0,05) seiring meningkatnya konsentrasi ekstrak yang mencapai 80,12±4,67% pada perlakuan 4 g/kg pakan, namun tingkat kelangsungan hidup menurun secara signifikan (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Pada keseluruhan parameter, pemberian ekstrak 1 g/kg pakan merupakan dosis terbaik dan potensial sebagai agen penghambat perkembangan gonad pada ikan nila. Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to determine the optimum level of organic selenium supplementation in improving the growth performance of Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus fed with diet containing low protein level. Basal diet was formulated to contain 28% protein with three different levels of organic selenium supplementation, namely 0 (control), 3, and 6 mg Se/kg feed. Furthermore, to evaluate selenium function on protein utilization and sparring effect, a diet with 30% of protein content was also used as a comparison. In this regard, this study was conducted using a completely randomized experimental design with four treatments and three replications. Nile tilapia with an average body weight of 8.05 ± 0.25 g were reared in the 100×50×50 cm3 aquarium at a density of 15 fish/aquarium. The experimental fish were reared for 60 days and fed three times daily to apparent satiation levels. Dietary supplementation of organic Se resulted in higher fish biomass, lower feed conversion ratio, higher protein retention and daily growth rate compared to the control diets with 28% and 30% protein levels. In conclusion, dietary supplementation of organic Se at 3 mg organic Se/kg feed could significantly increase protein utilization and improve the growth performance of Nile tilapia. Keywords: tilapia, protein sparing effect, organic selenium, feed ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan tingkat suplementasi selenium organic pada pakan untuk meningkatkan kinerja pertumbuhan ikan nila Oreochromis niloticus. Pakan basal diformulasikan mengandung 28% protein dengan tiga tingkat selenium organik yaitu 0 (kontrol), 3, dan 6 mg Se/kg pakan. Selanjutnya untuk mengevaluasi penggunaan selenium pada pemanfaatan protein dan efek sparring, pakan dengan 30% protein juga ditambahkan sebagai perlakuan pembanding. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Ikan nila dengan bobot rata-rata adalah 8.05 ± 0.25 g dipelihara dalam akuarium 100 × 50 × 50 cm3 dengan kepadatan 15 ikan/akuarium. Ikan dipelihara selama 60 hari dan diberi pakan tiga kali sehari secara at satiation. Pemberian pakan dengan suplementasi Se organic menghasilkan biomassa ikan yang lebih tinggi, rasio konversi pakan yang lebih rendah, retensi protein dan laju pertumbuhan harian yang lebih tinggi daripada perlakuan control dengan kadar protein 28% dan 30%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa suplemtasi pakan ikan nila dengan 3 mg Se organik/kg pakan dapat meningkatkan pemanfaatan protein pakan dan kinerja pertumbuhan ikan Nila. Abstract

ABSTRACT Clarias gariepinus rearing is mostly done with intensive systems that use a lot of commercial feed. The price of raw material for the feed lipid source which is currently the main source of fatty acids in freshwater fish feed continues to increase and compete with human needs. Rubber seed oil (RSO) is considered feasible to be an alternative. This study aimed to evaluate the use of heated RSO as alternative lipid source in C gariepinus feed. The results of this study indicated that heating could reduce HCN levels in RSO by 95%. Even after heated RSO was inserted into the feed formulation there is still HCN in feed, however it did not affect the survival rate of C. gariepinus statistically. Heated RSO based feed shows a specific growth rate that was higher than non-heating RSO-based feed. Feeding with heated RSO also did not affect nutrient retention in C. gariepinus. This also followed by blood profile, blood chemistry and body fatty acids profile, MDA levels and SOD levels which were almost same as treatment feed using fish oil and corn oil. From these results, it can be concluded that heating can reduce 95% HCN content in RSO and can be used as a lipid source in C. gariepinus feed. Keywords: Aquaculture, essential fatty acids, growth performance, HCN, rubber seed oil. ABSTRAK Budidaya ikan lele Clarias gariepinus dengan sistem intensif menggunakan banyak pakan buatan. Harga bahan baku untuk sumber lemak pakan terus meningkat dan bersaing dengan kebutuhan manusia. Minyak biji karet (MBK) layak menjadi alternatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi penggunaan MBK yang dipanaskan sebagai sumber lemak alternatif dalam pakan ikan lele. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan proses pemanasan dapat mengurangi kadar HCN pada MBK hingga 95%. Walaupun masih terdapat sejumlah kecil HCN pada pakan berbasis MBK yang dipanaskan, tetapi tidak memengaruhi tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan lele (p>0,05). Pakan berbasis MBK proses pemanasan menunjukkan laju pertumbuhan spesifik yang lebih tinggi dari pakan berbasis MBK yang tidak dipanaskan. Pemberian pakan berbasis MBK proses pemanasan juga tidak memengaruhi retensi nutrisi ikan lele. Demikian pula parameter profil darah, kimia darah, profil asam lemak tubuh, kadar MDA dan kadar SOD hampir sama dengan pakan perlakuan berbasis minyak ikan dan minyak jagung. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan MBK proses pemanasan dapat mengurangi 95% kandungan HCN dan dapat digunakan sebagai sumber lemak dalam pakan ikan lele. Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to determine the optimum level of Zinc (Zn) enrichment in Artemia sp. nauplii as a live feed to improve bone formation and growth of climbing perch Anabas testudinieus larvae. The study consisted of four different Zn enrichment levels (0.0, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.15 mg/mL) in Artemia sp.nauplii. The enrichment was performed for 12 hours with the nauplii density of 1 ind/mL. Climbing perch larvae with an average initial length of 1.65 ± 0.15 mm were fed four times daily with the enriched nauplii. For the first 5 days, all larvae were fed with rotifer followed by feeding with enriched Artemia nauplii ad libitum. The results showed that the application of Artemia sp. enrichment at 0.1 mg Zn/mL influenced the bone formation, increased the growth, and improved the fish survival of climbing perch larvae. Feeding with 0.1 mg/mL Zn enriched Artemia nauplii could be recommended as a strategy to improve the bone formation and growth performance of climbing perch larvae. Keywords: Anabas testudineus, Artemia sp., climbing perch, live feed, zinc ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan dosis optimum pengayaan seng (Zn) pada naupli Artemia sp. terhadap pembentukan tulang dan peningkatan pertumbuhan larva ikan betok. Penelitian dilakukan selama 18 hari dengan empat dosis pengayaan Zn yang berbeda (0, 0,05, 0,1, dan 0,15 mg/mL) pada naupli Artemia. Pengayaan dilakukan selama 12 jam dengan kepadatan naupli 1 ind/mL. Larva ikan betok dengan ukuran panjang awal rata-rata 1.65 ± 0.15 mm diberi pakan naupli yang diperkaya sebanyak 4 kali sehari. Pada lima hari pertama, semua larva diberi pakan rotifer, diikuti dengan pemberian naupli Artemia yang diperkaya secara ad libitum. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa pengayaan naupli Artemia sp. dengan Zn 0,1 mg/mL berpengaruh terhadap pembentukan tulang belakang dan dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan serta meningkatkan kelangsungan hidup larva ikan betok. Pemberian naupli Artemia dengan Zn sebanyak 0.1 mg Zn/mL dapat direkomendasikan untuk perbaikan pembentukan tulang dan pertumbuhan larva ikan betok. Abstract

This study was aimed to evaluate the use of corn steep powder (CSP) as a plant protein source in Oreochromis niloticus diet. A commercial feed with 28% protein content and 368 kcal/g energy was used as reference diet, while the test feed consisting of various CSP content, namely 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% and feed containing soybean meal (SBM) at the level of 20% and 30%. Tilapia were used in the trial with the initial body weight of 6.44 ± 0.29 g, and reared for thirty days in the aquarium at the density of fifteen and fed 3 times daily at a satiation level. All diets were supplied by 0.5% of Cr2O3 as an indicator for digestibility measurement. This study applied the completely randomized design experimental method containing six diet treatments and four replications. The result showed that CSP contains 40.27% protein, 26.10% lactic acid, and minerals. CSP is low in crude fiber and anti-nutritional factors. This study results that increasing the level of CSP significantly decreased feed acidity (P <0.05) compared to the control. The addition of CSP 20% increased feed digestibility including protein, lipid, energy, and dry matter digestibility. CSP 20% treatment increased final body weight, specific growth rate and reduced feed conversion ratio significantly (P<0.05) compare to other treatments. In conclusion, CSP can be used up to 20% to improve the growth performance of tilapia. Pakan komersial dengan kadar protein 28% dan energi 368 kkal/g digunakan sebagai pakan acuan, sementara pakan uji terdiri atas pakan dengan kandungan CSP sebanyak 0% (CSP0), 10% (CSP10), 20% (CSP20) dan 30% (CSP30) serta pakan dengan kandungan tepung bungkil kedelai (SBM) pada level 20% (SBM20) dan 30% (SBM30) sebagai pembanding. Penambahan Cr2O3 0,5 % diberikan sebagai indikator untuk mengukur kecernaan. Ikan nila dengan bobot tubuh rata-rata 6.44 ± 0.29 dipelihara dalam akuarium (95×45×45 cm3) yang diisi air 100 L dengan kepadatan 15 ekor per akuarium dan diberi pakan tiga kali sehari secara at satiation selama 30 hari masa pemeliharaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain rancangan acak lengkap dengan enam perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa CSP mengandung protein sebesar 40,27%, asam laktat 26,10%, beberapa mineral dan indeks asam amino esensial 0,90. CSP juga rendah serat kasar dan zat antinutrisi. Peningkatan dosis CSP menurunkan pH pakan secara signifikan (P<0.05) dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Penambahan CSP sampai level 20% meningkatkan nilai kecernaan total, kecernaan bahan, kecernaan protein, kecernaan lemak dan kecernaan energi. Di samping itu, perlakuan CSP 20% meningkatkan bobot akhir, laju pertumbuhan harian dan rasio konversi pakan yang signifikan (P<0,05) dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian CSP 20% dapat meningkatkan kinerja pertumbuhan ikan nila. Kata kunci: corn steep powder, kecernaan pakan, pertumbuhan, ikan nila
