Abstract

This study was aimed to evaluate the influence of corncob hydrolysis on its crude fiber content, digestibility level, and utilization in the red Nile tilapia diet. This study was performed in two steps, namely hydrolysis and digestibility test. The first study step was enzymatic hydrolysis using 0.4 g/kg cocktail enzyme, followed by chemical hydrolysis using hydrochloric acid (HCl) at different treatments, i.e. concentration, incubation period, and ratio. The second step was designed using a completely randomized design with five treatments, i.e. Rd (reference diet), TJt15% (15% unhydrolyzed corncob), TJt30% (30% unhydrolyzed corncob), TJh15% (15% corncob hydrolysis), and TJh30% (30% corncob hydrolysis). The average weight of tilapia was 15.86 ± 0.19 g/fish. The hydrolyzed corncob meal used for the second study step from the hydrolysis production could reduce 57.53% of crude fiber, 38.15% of NDF fiber fraction, 6.43% of ADF fiber fraction, and 61.96% of hemicellulose. The digestibility test results showed that the hydrolyzed corn cob diet obtained a higher digestibility level, digestive enzyme activity, and blood plasma protein than the unhydrolyzed corncob diet (P<0.05). This study concludes that the corncob hydrolysis eliminates the crude fiber content, fiber fraction contents (NDF, ADF, and hemicellulose), and improves the digestibility level of red Nile tilapia. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh hidrolisis tongkol jagung terhadap kandungan serat kasar, kecernaan, dan pemanfaatannya dalam pakan ikan nila merah. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua tahap, yaitu hidrolisis bahan dan uji kecernaan. Penelitian tahap pertama yaitu hidrolisis secara enzimatik menggunakan koktail enzim 0,4 g/kg dan dilanjutkan dengan hidrolisis kimiawi menggunakan asam klorida (HCl) dengan perlakuan yang berbeda yaitu konsentrasi, lama waktu inkubasi, dan rasio. Penelitian tahap kedua dirancang dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan lima perlakuan yaitu Rd, TJt15% (tongkol jagung tidak dihidrolisis 15%), TJt30% (tongkol jagung tidak dihidrolisis 30%), TJh15% (tongkol jagung dihidrolisis 15%), dan TJh30% (tongkol jagung dihidrolisis 30%). Ikan uji dengan bobot rata-rata sebesar 15,86±0,19 g/ekor. Hidrolisis tepung tongkol jagung dengan konsentrasi HCl 0.1 N, lama waktu inkubasi 8 jam, dan dengan rasio 1:4 yang digunakan untuk penelitian selanjutnya. Hidrolisis terhadap tepung tongkol jagung dapat menurunkan serat kasar 57,53%, fraksi serat NDF 38,15%, ADF 6,43%, dan hemiselulosa 61,96%. Hasil penelitian uji kecernaan menunjukkan bahwan pakan yang mengandung tongkol jagung terhidrolisis menghasilkan nilai kecernaan, aktivitas enzim pencernaan dan protein plasma darah yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan yang tidak dihidrolisis (P<0.05). Kesimpulanya, hidrolisis tongkol jagung menggunakan asam klorida (HCl) 0,1 N, lama waktu inkubasi 8 jam, dan rasio 1:4 dapat menurunkan serat kasar, fraksi serat (NDF, ADF, dan hemiselulosa), serta meningkatkan nilai kecernaan pakan ikan nila merah. Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of organic selenium supplementation on diet with different protein levels on the growth performance and protein utilization of African catfish juvenile. A randomized 2×3 factorial design with two dietary protein levels (27% and 32%) and three dietary selenium (Se) supplementation levels (0 mg/kg, 3 mg/kg, and 6 mg/kg diet) in triplicates were applied in the study. African catfish juvenile with an initial average body weight and body length of 27.00 ± 0.14 g and 15.0 ± 0.5 cm, respectively, was reared in 18 units of aquarium (141 L) at a density of 142 fish/m3 for a rearing period of 40 days. Increasing organic Se supplementation level up to 6 mg/kg at high protein feed resulted in higher fish growth and final biomass, lower FCR, and higher protein utilization efficiency than those of other treatments. Furthermore, supplementation of organic Se also resulted in lower lipid and higher Se concentrations in the fish body as well as higher blood protein level compared to those of the control. In conclusion, the result of this study suggested that dietary supplementation of organic Se up to 6 mg/kg could enhance the growth and protein utilization in African catfish fed with both low and high protein diet. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh suplementasi selenium organik pada pakan dengan kadar protein yang berbeda terhadap kinerja pertumbuhan dan pemanfaatan protein pakan ikan lele Clarias gariepenus. Penelitian didesain menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial 2×3 dengan dua tingkat protein pakan (27% dan 32%) dan tiga tingkat suplementasi selenium (Se) pakan (0 mg/kg, 3 mg/kg, dan 6 mg/kg diet) sebanyak tiga ulangan. Ikan lele yang digunakan memiliki bobot awal rata-rata dan panjang tubuh 27 ± 0.14 g dan 15.0 ± 0.5 cm, dipelihara dalam 18 unit akuarium (141 L) dengan kepadatan 142 ekor/m3 selama 40 hari pemeliharaan. Peningkatan suplementasi Se organik hingga 6 mg/kg pada ikan yang diberi pakan protein tinggi menghasilkan kinerja pertumbuhan ikan dan biomassa akhir yang lebih tinggi, FCR yang lebih rendah, dan efisiensi pemanfaatan protein pakan yang lebih tinggi daripada perlakuan lain. Selain itu, suplementasi Se organik juga menghasilkan kadar lemak yang lebih rendah dan konsentrasi Se tubuh yang lebih tinggi serta kadar protein darah yang lebih tinggi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu suplementasi Se organik pada pakan hingga 6 mg/kg dapat meningkatkan kinerja pertumbuhan dan pemanfaatan protein pakan pada ikan lele yang diberi pakan dengan kadar protein rendah dan tinggi. Abstract

ABSTRACT Tilapia gonads mature quickly before reaching market size, caused by a diverting of feed energy from growth to reproduction. As a result, somatic growth is disrupted to achieve market size, the operational costs are high, and the rearing period is longer. This study aims to evaluate the ability of karamunting leaf extracts to inhibit the development of tilapia gonads. This study used a complete randomized design with four treatments and three replications, namely 0 mg/kg, 25 mg/kg, 50 mg/kg, and 100 mg/kg of karamunting leaf extract. Tilapia fish weighed 13–14 g were kept in an aquarium measuring 100×60×50 cm with a stocking density of 20 fish/ aquarium. Fish were fed twice a day at 8 a.m and 5 p.m in at satiation. Sampling was carried out at the beginning of the study, on day 30th and day 60th. On day 30th the result showed that the best dose in inhibiting the development of fish gonad was 100 mg/kg of karamunting leaf extract that was 1.15 ± 0.19% and the daily growth rate was increased at 2.22 ± 0.06%. On day 60th, the best dose in inhibiting gonad development was 25 mg/kg of karamunting leaf extract, which was 2.49 ± 1.24% and the daily growth rate was increased amount 3.26 ± 0.06%. Keywords: extract, karamunting leaves, gonad development, tilapia ABSTRAK Gonad ikan nila cepat berkembang sebelum mencapai ukuran pasar, menyebabkan pengalihan energi pakan dari pertumbuhan ke reproduksi. Akibatnya, pertumbuhan somatik terganggu sehingga untuk mencapai ukuran pasar biaya operasional tinggi dan masa pemeliharaan lebih lama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi ekstrak daun karamunting dalam menghambat perkembangan gonad ikan nila. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan; yaitu 0 mg/kg, 25 mg/kg, 50 mg/kg, dan 100 mg/kg ekstrak daun karamunting. Ikan nila berukuran 13–14 g dipelihara di akuarium berukuran 100×60×50 cm dengan padat tebar 20 ikan/akuarium. Ikan diberi makan dua kali sehari pada jam 8 pagi dan 5 sore dengan at satiation. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada awal penelitian, hari ke-30 dan hari ke-60. Hasil pada hari ke-30 menunjukan bahwa dosis terbaik dalam menghambat perkembangan gonad pada ikan uji adalah 100 mg/kg ekstrak daun karamunting yaitu 1.15 ± 0.19% dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan harian 2.22 ± 0.06%. Pada hari ke-60 dosis terbaik dalam menghambat perkembangan gonad adalah 25 mg/kg ekstrak daun karamunting yaitu 2.49 ± 1.24% dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan harian 3.26 ± 0.06%. Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the dietary supplementation of α-lipoic acid (ALA) on the growth performance, antioxidative capacity, and protein-sparring effect of striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) fingerling. The striped catfish (individual weight of 1.4 ± 0.0 g) were stocked in 25 cages at 2x1x1.5 m size in a 200-m pond at 50 fish. Fish were fed formulated diets with ALA supplementation, namely: diet A (27% protein: 390 kcal), diet B (27% protein: 390 kcal +ALA 8 g/kg), diet C (27% protein: 400 kcal), diet D (27% protein: 400 kcal +ALA 8 g/kg), and diet E (30% protein: 390 kcal). Feeding was performed until apparent satiation for 60 days. The ALA supplementation significantly produced higher final individual weight, specific growth rate, and protein efficiency ratio, followed by a lower feed conversion ratio on the 27:390+ALA diet treatment (P<0.05) than other diet treatments. The highest liver performance based on superoxide dismutase enzyme activity and glycogen contents was obtained from the 27:390+ALA diet treatment. The malondialdehyde, triglycerides, and lipid accumulation in the liver on the 27:390+ALA diet treatment were lower than other diet treatments (P<0.05). Therefore, the best growth performance and physiological status in striped catfish was obtained from 27:390+ALA diet treatment.

Abstract

Phytoadditives have been acknowledged to have some beneficial effects on metabolic processes and health of some aquaculture species. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of dietary citral on carbohydrate utilization, growth and health performance of vannamei shrimp P. vannamei. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four dietary treatments with different citral doses (0, 50, 75, and 100 mg citral/kg feed) in triplicates. Shrimp were reared for 60 days using fiber containers (50×50×80cm) of 30 shrimp/container. The frequency of feeding is given four times a day. Dietary citral supplementation of 100 mg/kg resulted in higher shrimp growth and feed utilization efficiency than those of the control. The level of amylase enzyme, post-prandial blood glucose, muscle, and liver glycogen were higher in the treatments with dietary citral than those of the controls. The shrimp immune response was also higher in the shrimp fed with dietary citral diets as shown by the higher total hemocyte count, respiratory burst, and phenoloxidase activity compared to those of the control. At the same time, antioxidant capacity in the hepatopancreas as indicated by superoxide dismutase and malondialdehyde level were also improved in shrimp with citral treatment. It can be concluded that dietary citral could increase the utilization carbohydrate, growth performance and health of shrimp at a concentration 75 mg/kg. Keywords: citral, carbohydrate, growth, health, P. vannamei ABSTRAK Secara umum telah diketahui bahwa fitoaditif memiliki pengaruh yang menguntungkan pada proses metabolisme dan kesehatan beberapa spesies akuakultur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penambahan citral pada pakan terhadap pemanfaatan karbohidrat, kinerja pertumbuhan dan kesehatan udang vanname. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dosis citral yang berbeda (0, 50, 75, dan 100 mg citral/kg pakan) dengan tiga ulangan. Udang vanname dipelihara selama 60 hari menggunakan wadah bak fiber (50×50×80cm) sebanyak 30ekor/wadah. Frekuensi pemberian pakan diberikan sebanyak empat kali sehari. Penambahan citral 100 mg/kg menghasilkan pertumbuhan udang yang lebih tinggi dan efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan dibandingkan kontrol. Tingkat enzim amilase, glukosa hemolim post-prandial, glikogen otot, dan glikogen hati lebih tinggi pada perlakuan penambahan citral dibandingkan kontrol. Respon imun udang juga lebih tinggi pada udang yang diberi penambahan citral seperti yang ditunjukkan oleh jumlah total hemosit, respiratory burst, dan aktivitas fenoloksidase yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Pada saat yang sama, aktivitas antioksidan dalam hepatopankreas udang yang ditunjukkan oleh Superoksida dismutase dan Malondialdehida juga meningkat pada udang dengan perlakuan citral. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan citral dapat meningkatkan pemanfaatan karbohidrat, pertumbuhan dan kesehatan udang pada konsentrasi 75. Abstract

Selenium is an essential micromineral that the body needs in modest amounts (0.2–12 mg/kg), yet it has important effects on the antioxidant defense, immune system, and digestive performance of aquatic species. This study aimed to analyze the growth of catfish (Clarias gariepinus) supplemented with feed additives containing selenium peptide through the coating method on feed. There were four different treatments, namely K (feed without feed additive), and feed with additive supplementation: A (3 g/kg feed), B (6 g/kg feed), and C (9 g/kg feed). A total of 15 catfish at an initial weight of 21.80 ± 0.29 g were reared in a 90×40×45 cm3 aquarium filled with water at a volume of 108 L, for 45 days. Fish were fed three times a day at satiation. Water quality management was carried out by the use of simple filtration in the container and water replacement to ensure optimum water quality values for catfish growth. The results showed that the final biomass of catfish fed with selenium peptide was significantly different (p<0.05) from catfish fed without selenium peptide, with a value of 1147,50 g and 96,67% of survival rate. Based on this study, the best dose of feed additive in catfish feed was 3 g/kg of feed. Keywords: Clarias gariepinus, growth, selenium peptide ABSTRAK Selenium adalah mikromineral esensial yang dibutuhkan tubuh dalam jumlah sedikit (0,2–12 mg/kg), akan tetapi sangat berperan dalam sistem anti-oksidatif, imunitas, dan kinerja pencernaan pada organisme akuatik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pertumbuhan ikan lele (Clarias gariepinus) yang ditambahkan dengan feed additive mengandung selenium peptida melalui metode coating pada pakan. Terdapat empat perlakuan berbeda, yaitu K (pakan tanpa selenium peptida), dan pakan dengan suplementasi feed additive: A (3 g/kg pakan), B (6 g/kg pakan), dan C (9 g/kg pakan). Ikan lele ukuran 21,80 ± 0,29 g sebanyak 15 ekor dipelihara dalam akuarium berukuran 90×40×45 cm3 dengan total volume air 108 L, selama 45 hari. Ikan diberi pakan tiga kali sehari secara at satiation. Pengelolaan kualitas air dilakukan dengan filtrasi sederhana serta penggantian air untuk memastikan kualitas air optimal untuk pertumbuhan ikan lele. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan biomassa akhir ikan lele dengan suplementasi selenium peptida pada pakan berbeda nyata (p<0,05) dibandingkan dengan kontrol dengan nilai bobot sebesar 1147,50 g dan kelangsungan hidup 96,67%. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, dosis terbaik feed additive yang mengandung selenium peptida adalah 3 g/kg pakan pada ikan lele. Kata kunci: Clarias gariepinus, pertumbuhan, selenium peptida

Abstract

Micro minerals play a crucial role in the physiological processes of fish, acting as enzyme cofactors and stabilizing enzyme and protein structures. One of the essential micro minerals needed in the body is zinc (Zn). Zinc is utilized for various physiological processes, including the maintenance of enzymatic processes within the fish's body. The aim of this literature review is to analyze the optimal level of zinc supplementation in feed to enhance the growth performance of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), based on the reported findings of conducted research. The literature sources were obtained from accredited national journals, international journals, research outcomes, theses, and dissertations over the past 20 years. The results of this literature review indicate that zinc supplementation in feed can have a positive impact on overall fish growth by increasing digestive enzyme activity, particularly protease enzymes. The level of zinc supplementation in fish is influenced by several factors including, fish size, feed consumption quantity, and duration of maintenance. The optimal dietary zinc intake for Nile tilapia growth is reported to be in the range of 20–50 mg/kg. Keywords: growth, literature study, Nile tilapia, zinc ABSTRAK Mikro mineral memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam fisiologi tubuh ikan yang berfungsi sebagai kofaktor enzim dan menjadi penstabil struktur enzim maupun protein. Salah satu mikro mineral yang memiliki fungsi penting dan diperlukan dalam tubuh adalah unsur seng (Zn). Unsur Zn digunakan untuk proses fisiologis termasuk pemeliharaan proses enzimatik dalam tubuh ikan. Tujuan studi pustaka ini adalah menganalisis tingkat suplementasi Zn yang optimum dalam pakan untuk meningkatkan performa pertumbuhan ikan nila Oreochromis niloticus berdasarkan laporan hasil-hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan. Sumber pustaka didapatkan dari jurnal nasional terakreditasi, jurnal internasional, hasil penelitian, tesis, dan disertasi pada kurun waktu 20 tahun terakhir. Hasil studi pustaka ini menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi Zn dalam pakan dapat memberikan pengaruh positif pada pertumbuhan ikan secara umum melalui peningkatan aktivitas enzim pencernaan terutama enzim protease. Tingkat suplementasi Zn pada ikan dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor diantaranya, ukuran ikan, jumlah konsumsi pakan, dan lama pemeliharaan. Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the growth performance and carbohydrate metabolism of Pacific whiteleg shrimp after feeding with different cinnamaldehyde concentrations and protein-energy ratios. The study used a completely randomized design with six treatments in triplicates. The treatments were S003213; treatment S053213; treatment S052814; treatment S102814; treatment S052815; and treatment S102815. The study was conducted for 56 days in a 76 L volume aquarium using shrimps with 1.38 ± 0.01 g at 200 individuals/m3. The results showed that the S053213 treatment was significantly different (P<0.05) compared to other treatments for the specific growth rate (SGR). Hexokinase (hk) and phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (pepck) produced by the S053213 treatment were significantly different (P<0.05) from the S003213 treatment. The S052815 and S102815 treatments produced higher protein retention (PR) and protein efficiency ratio (PER) compared to other treatments (P<0.05) and also produced the same final average weight (FW) as the S003213 treatment. This research shows that vannamei fed by 0.10% supplementation dose of cinnamaldehyde with a decreased feed protein up to 28% and C/P ratio 14 and 15 are able to utilize feed as well as protein 32% without cinnamaldehyde. The addition of cinnamaldehyde with a higher C/P ratio requires a higher dose of cinnamaldehyde than the optimal dose. Keywords: Carbohydrate metabolism, cinnamaldehyde, growth, feed energy ratio, Pacific whiteleg shrimp ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja pertumbuhan dan metabolisme karbohidrat udang vaname Litopenaeus vannamei yang diberikan kadar sinamaldehid pada protein dan rasio energi pakan berbeda. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan enam perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Adapun perlakuan terdiri dari perlakuan kontrol S003213; perlakuan S053213; perlakuan S052814; perlakuan S102814; perlakuan S052815; dan perlakuan S102815. Penelitian dilakukan selama 56 hari pemeliharaan pada akuarium volume 76 L menggunakan udang vaname berukuran 1,38 ± 0,01 g dengan kepadatan 200 individuals/m3. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan S053213 berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya untuk parameter laju pertumbuhan spesifik (SGR). Parameter heksokinase (hk) dan phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (pepck) yang tertinggi dihasilkan oleh perlakuan S053213 dan berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dengan perlakuan S003213. Pada perlakuan S052815 dan S102815 menghasilkan retensi protein (PR) dan rasio efisiensi protein (PER) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya (P<0,05) serta menghasilkan bobot rata-rata akhir (FW) sama dengan perlakuan S003213. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa udang vaname yang diberikan suplementasi sinamaldehid sebesar 0,10% dengan protein pakan 28% dan rasio C/P menjadi 14 dan 15 mampu pemanfaatan protein pakan yang sama dengan protein pakan 32% tanpa suplementasi sinamaldehid. Penambahan sinamaldehid dengan rasio C/P yang lebih tinggi membutuhkan dosis sinamaldehid yang lebih tinggi dari dosis optimal. Abstract

This research evaluated the effect of taurine-enriched rotifers on the survival and growth of milkfish larvae. Twenty-five fertilized milkfish eggs were placed in a 250 L cylindrical fiber tank. This study used a completely randomized design with four treatments and five replications. Three days old larvae were given rotifers enriched with taurine at 0, 25, 50, or 75 mg/L. Larvae were cultured until they were 18 days old. The results showed that the taurine content in rotifers was higher in rotifer at 50 mg/L treatment, then decreased at the 75 mg/L treatment. Taurine content in the milkfish larvae aligned with taurine levels in rotifers. Furthermore, the taurine content in rotifers affected milkfish larvae' survival and body length. The highest larval survival and growth was obtained in the 50 mg/L taurine treatment. Thus, it can be concluded that taurine at 50 mg/L is the optimal rotifer enrichment dose for milkfish larvae. Keywords: growth, milkfish larvae, notochord, survival rate, taurine ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh pemberian rotifera yang diperkaya taurin terhadap kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan larva ikan bandeng. Dua puluh lima butir telur ikan bandeng yang telah dibuahi ditempatkan pada tangki fiber berbentuk silinder berukuran 250 L. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Larva berumur tiga hari setelah menetas diberi rotifer yang diperkaya taurin dengan dosis 0, 25, 50, atau 75 mg/L. Larva dipelihara hingga berumur 18 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan taurin pada rotifer tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan rotifer 50 mg/L, kemudian menurun pada perlakuan rotifer 75 mg/L. Kandungan taurin pada larva ikan bandeng sebanding dengan kandungan taurin pada rotifer. Kandungan taurin pada rotifer berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup dan panjang tubuh larva ikan bandeng. Kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan larva tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan dosis 50 mg/L. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian taurin 50 mg/L pada pengayaan rotifer merupakan dosis yang optimal untuk diberikan pada larva ikan bandeng. Abstract

Feed is a crucial factor in tilapia farming because it contributes 92% of the total production cost. This study aims to evaluate the digestibility and utilization of carbohydrates in low-protein feed supplemented with NSP enzymes and organic chromium. The research method employed a factorial completely randomized design with treatments of organic chromium (0, 1, 2) and NSP enzymes (0, 1). The study used 18 aquariums, each measuring 50×40×35 cm. The fish used were tilapia with an average weight of 33.09 ± 0.06 g per fish. The feed used was commercial feed supplemented with organic chromium and NSP enzymes. The study focused on digestibility performance, digestive enzyme activity, growth performance, and antioxidant status. The results showed that the treatments E1C1 and E0C2 resulted in better total digestibility, energy digestibility, and protein digestibility compared to the control and other treatments. Lipase, protease, and amylase enzymes in tilapia fed with the E1C1 treatment showed significantly higher results (P<0.05) compared to the control. Growth performance in tilapia fed with NSP enzymes and organic chromium did not show significant differences from the control (P>0.05). However, antioxidant status, specifically SOD and GPx, was significantly higher in the E0C1 treatment compared to the control (P<0.05). The conclusion of this study is that the addition of NSP enzymes and organic chromium to low-protein feed can improve digestibility and optimize carbohydrate utilization, with the best results achieved with the E1C1 treatment. Keywords: antioxidant, digestive enzymes, Nile tilapia, nutrient digestibility ABSTRAK Pakan menjadi factor krusial dalam usaha budidaya ikan nila karena memiliki kontribusi sebesar 92% dari total biaya produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kecernaan dan kemampuanpemanfaatan karbohidrat pada pakan protein rendah yang diberienzim NSP dan kromium organik. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial dengan perlakuan kromium organic (0,1,2) dan enzim NSP (0,1). Wadah yang digunakan merupakan aquarium yang berukuran 50×40×35 cm sebanyak 18 unit. Ikan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ikan nila dengan bobot rata-rata 33,09 ± 0,06 g/ekor. Pakan yang digunakan merupakan pakan komersial yang diberi penambahan kromium organik dan enzim NSP. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada kinerja kecernaan, aktivitas enzim pencernaan, kinerja Pertumbuhan serta status Antioksidan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan E1C1 dan E0C2 menghasilkan nilai kecernaan total, kecernaan energi dan kecernaan protein yang lebih baik dibanding perlakuan kontrol dan perlakuan lainnya. Enzim lipase, protease dan amilase pada ikan nila yang diberipakan perlakuan E1C1 menunjukkan hasil yang lebih tinggi secarasignifikan (P<0,05) terhadap kontrol. Kinerja pertumbuhan pada ikan nila yang diberienzim NSP dan kromium organik menghasilkan nilai yang tidak signifikan dengan kontrol (P>0,05). Walaupun demikian, status antioksidan yang dihasilkan yaitu SOD dan GPx pada perlakuan E0C1 menghasilkan nilai yang lebih tinggi secara signifikan terhadap kontrol (P<0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penambahan enzim NSP dan kromium organik pada pakan rendah protein mampu meningkatkan kinerja kecernaan dan memanfaatkan karbohidrat dengan optimal.
