Abstract

Economic growth in Aceh Province, Indonesia, is expected to fluctuate due to the unstable growth rates of both oil and gas and non-oil and gas exports. This study aims to investigate the impact of these exports on economic growth in Aceh Province. Utilizing secondary data from the Statistics of Aceh Province (BPS Aceh), the study employed the panel regression method, specifically the random effect model, analyzing data from 23 districts/cities in Aceh Province over the period 2011-2022. Estimation results indicate that oil and gas export growth have a negative effect, while non-oil and gas export growth exerts a positive effect on economic growth in Aceh Province, both of which show robust statistical significance. Based on these empirical findings, it is suggested that there should be cooperation between the government and investors in Aceh Province to maximize the processing of oil and gas commodities for export, as well as to improve the quality of non-oil and gas commodities exported so that, in the future, the demand for non-oil and gas exports can remain stable, fostering sustainable provincial economic growth.

Abstract

The government continues to address poverty through various policies including food security initiatives, but the poverty rate in Aceh is still relatively high when compared to other provinces in Indonesia. Given this urgency, this study aims to estimate the short-term and long-term effects of food prices on poverty rates in Aceh using an Error Correction Model (ECM) supplemented by observations of long-term equilibrium or cointegration relationships. The secondary data used is the period 2014Q1 - 2022Q4. The estimation results show that in the short and long run, food prices have a significant effect and are positively related to the poverty rate in Aceh. The imbalance between the actual poverty rate and the desired poverty rate will be adjusted over 3.32 quarters. Therefore, the Aceh Government's measures and policies in alleviating poverty need to be revisited by consistently improving the quality of human resources, quantity, and sustainability of agricultural production.

Abstract

This study examines the roles of foreign investment, financial sector development, domestic savings, and exchange rates on per capita income in 25 Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries. A panel data regression model is applied to annual data from 2010 to 2022. The results indicate that foreign investment and domestic savings positively influence financial sector development, while the exchange rate has no significant effect. Additionally, both foreign investment and savings positively impact economic growth, whereas the exchange rate and financial sector have a negative effect. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the governments of the OIC-25 countries enhance the attractiveness of foreign investment through policies that foster a conducive investment climate and increase awareness and incentives for domestic savings. This approach would strengthen the financial sector and boost per capita income growth. The study suggests that while foreign investment and domestic savings can drive financial sector development and economic growth, exchange rate fluctuations and inefficient financial sector management can hinder increases in per capita income.

During the transition season, there are lots of mosquitoes around, some of which contain the dengue virus which can transmit dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) which is transmitted through the bite of the Aedesaegypti mosquito. Students understand and are able to explain the purpose of community service activities. The initial survey was carried out at 09.00 – 10.00 WIT, Saturday 20 July February 2024. Providing socialization there were 4 pots of periwinkle plants in class VI.B and 18 pots of periwinkle plants in the yard of class VI B.SDN.07 Rejang Lebong. Abstract

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) conducted the 2019 National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK), and the results showed that while conventional financial literacy is at 67.1%, Sharia financial literacy among Indonesian students is still significantly lower at 31.5%. This study looked at how undergraduate students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Syiah Kuala, in the even semester of the 2022–2023 academic year, perceived their level of Sharia financial literacy about their gender, grade point average (GPA), financial education in postsecondary institutions, and parental financial education. With 97 respondents in total, probability sampling using a straightforward random sample technique was used for primary data. Multiple linear regression analysis results showed that although other variables showed no discernible influence, financial education in higher education had a significant and favorable impact, appearing as the major factor determining Sharia financial literacy. As such, it is advised that teachers incorporate Sharia financial education into their curricula to improve students' comprehension, which may then be reflected in their grade point average. Furthermore, in addition to pupils' learning efforts, parents are encouraged to offer further support in educating their children about Sharia money. Keywords: Sharia Financial Literacy, Gender, Grade Point Average, Financial Learning, Financial Education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of employment opportunities in mediating the effects of human capital and wages on poverty across provinces in Indonesia. This study uses secondary annual data from 34 provinces spanning 2015 to 2022 (panel data). The study employs panel data regression analysis for model estimation, with path analysis and the Sobel test used to assess the mediating role. The findings indicate that human capital has a significant negative direct and indirect impact on poverty through employment opportunities. In contrast, wages do not directly affect poverty but have a significant indirect effect through employment opportunities. Employment opportunities negatively influence poverty and act as a partial mediator between human capital and poverty and a complete mediator in the relationship between wages and poverty. Based on these results, it is recommended that policies aimed at enhancing human capital and increasing employment opportunities be implemented concurrently to reduce short- and long-term poverty. Additionally, it is advised that the government prioritize increasing the minimum wage to strengthen the impact of employment opportunities in alleviating poverty over time. Policies that simultaneously target improvements in human capital, employment opportunities, and minimum wages are crucial for significantly reducing poverty across Indonesia's 34 provinces.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between oil and gas exports, macroeconomic variables (such as inflation and population), and Indonesia's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). Specifically, it focuses on seven Indonesian provinces that are the largest oil and gas producers: Aceh, North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Riau, East Java, East Kalimantan, and Papua. Utilizing panel regression analysis, the study analyzes annual data from 2010 to 2022, sourced from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the respective BPS offices of each province. The findings reveal that oil and gas exports, and total population positively influence GRDP. At the same time, inflation negatively impacts GRDP, particularly in the leading oil and gas-producing regions. Based on these results, the study suggests that the government should consider offering fiscal incentives, such as tax reductions or import duty exemptions. It aims to attract domestic and foreign investment in exploration and production. Furthermore, it advocates for advancements in oil and gas processing technologies to enhance the quality and quantity of oil and gas exports, focusing on finished goods rather than relying solely on raw products.
