Abstract

Communication and metacognition ability of students in SMK N 11 Semarang is still low. Students have difficulties in presenting ideas with math language also their awareness of thinking is still low so that it difficult math problem solving .This study aims to know the effectiveness of blended learning use on communication and metacognition of students. The subject of the research is students class X AN 2 of SMK N 11 semarang 2018 / 2019 .The research uses qualitative and quantitative methods . Data is collected from filling out the questionnaires of metacognition and conducting metacognition ; also math communication test. The results show that ( 1 ) The awareness of metacognisi importance being masticated, students tend to be less optimal in using their experiences and knowledge to address the math issues . ( 2 ) Blended learning is significant on raising the awareness of metacognition .The majority of students having high metacognition because they tend to use their knowledge and experiences to finish math problems in high category . ( 3 ) Math communication ability of students on the linear equation system with two variables includes solved by average 80,1 .In terms of the indicators , the average of expressing math ideas (making math models) is 88,2 , the ability to count and understand is 79,2. Interpret and describe relations with math models or make inferences is 72;9.

Abstract

Low ability of mathematical problem solving among students affected by the quality of learning devices that teachers use in the classroom. The purpose of this study to produce devices cooperative learning STAD with metacognitive approach contain of muwashofat to improve math problem-solving ability and attitudes itqon of students in Islamic elementary school valid, practical, and effective. The type of research is the development by a modification of the 4D model, with phase define, design, and develop. The learning devices consist of syllabus, lesson plan, worksheet students, texbooks, and math problem-solving ability test. This study results as follows: (1) assessment from the experts validation the mathematics learning devices are valid; (2) the data analysis of the experiment for the practicality criteria is practical, because it meets the following criteria: (a) implementation of learning device is very good; (b) the students response is positive, and (c) the teachers response is positive; (3) the results of qualified for the effectiveness criteria: (a) problem solving ability test results has achieved minimum criteria (b) the average math problem solving ability of students experimental class is better than the control class, and (c) there is an increase in math problem-solving ability and attitudes itqon. For this reason, it can be conclude that the development of learning devices cooperative learning STAD with metacognitive approach contain of muwashofat are valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the existing forms of ethnomatematics in the Palue society and to analyze its relation to mathematical concepts in elementary school. In this study, qualitative data were obtained through observation of the community's activity and arterfak used in the activity. The other data were also obtained through interviews with the Palue community. The data are analyzed theoretically using theories relating to the relationship of ethnomatematics with the concepts of mathematics in elementary school. The results show that the ethnomatematic forms that exist in the Palue society culture include forms of artifacts used in traditional ceremonies, dances, livelihoods, tenun ikat activities and traditional games. These social activities have a certain relationship to mathematical concepts in elementary schools, namely the concept of numeral operations, two deminsion concept (square, rectangle, triangle, circle, rhombus, and kite), geometry concept (tubes, shperis, and cones) as well as concepts of the measurement (measurement of the length, mass, and time). Based on this matter, it can be concluded that Palue society in Palue culture contained elements of ethnomatematics that can be integrated in the mathematics learning in elementary school.

Abstract

This study has the purpose of analyzing the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning model based on ethnomathematics with Selotigo batik motifs in improving students' problem-solving abilities. This study was true experimental design research. The sampling technique was done using random cluster sampling. The sample in this study was Public Elementary School Sidorejo Lor 07 Salatiga as an experimental class and Public Elementary School Sidorejo Lor 03 Salatiga as a control class with a total of 74 students. The data collection was done through observation, documentation, and test method. The data analysis was done using One-Sample t-test, Proportion Test, and Independent Sample t-test. The results showed that the PBL model based on ethnomathematics was effective in improving students' problem-solving abilities. This result was indicated by the average score of students' problem-solving ability in the learning using PBL model based on ethnomathematics which was above the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) with KKM of problem-solving abilities of 75, the proportion of students completeness of problem-solving abilities in PBL model based on ethnomathematics was above 75% of the classical completeness, the average problem-solving ability of students in the PBL learning model based on ethnomathematics is better than the average problem-solving ability of students in the PBL model. Based on the result, it can be concluded that problem-solving in a PBL model based on ethnomathematics is effective in improving the problem-solving ability of students.
