Indonesia is a tropical country on the equator and is always in the sun all day long. The sun is an aspect that has a significant impact on human health. The purpose of conducting this literature review is to provide information to readers regarding the effect of sun exposure on levels of the hormone serotonin. The method used in this writing is a literature review article (LRA) with library sources obtained through the Publish Or Perish data base which was published from 2010 to 2022 with the topic Effects of Sun Exposure on Serotonin Levels. This literature review uses keywords including exposure, sun, vitamin D, hormones, and serotonin. The journal results from the search obtained 67 journals which included inclusion, namely 57 journals then were selected with topic relevance, there were only 10 journals. Based on the results of the literature review of the article, it was found that sunlight affects human health, one of which is stimulating the formation of the hormones serotonin and Vitamin D.

Abstract

Abstract:Indonesia is one of the tropical countries with year-round sunshine. This certainly allows Indonesians to be regularly exposed to the sun during daytime activities outside the home. Exposure to the sun has a significant impact on humans. To date, research on the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency, particularly in humans, has been rare. The purpose of  this literature review is to provide the reader with information on the effects of sun exposure on parathyroid hormone levels. The method used to write this document is the literary criticism method. (LRA) with references taken from published or revoked (POP) databases published between 2010 and 2022. In this literature review, the keywords used include including sun, hormones, activity, vitamin D, parathyroid glands. Based on literature from a variety of research findings, it was found that sun exposure affects parathyroid hormone levels. Because vitamin D in sunlight is in the  form of 1,25(OH)2D, it works with parathyroid hormone and calcitonin to maintain normal plasma calcium levels.

Abstract

Abstract

Blood is 90% of the fluids that make up the human body. Blood cells are divided into erythrocytes, leukocytes, and platelets. To determine blood levels in a person's body can be done by measuring the hematocrit level. The hematocrit value in the body can be influenced by external factors such as routine physical exercise while internal factors such as fulfilling a balanced nutritional intake. This study aims to determine differences in hematocrit and platelet levels of biology students and sports students. This research is a quantitative descriptive. Subjects in this study were individuals who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The samples used were 15 biology students and 15 sports students. Analysis of the data obtained from the hematology analyzer examination was then carried out using the RStudio program for further statistical tests, namely the t-test with α = 0.05 with a 95% confidence interval. Based on the results of data analysis on hematocrit levels of biology and sports students, it was found that p<0.0002. While the platelet levels of biology students with sports students obtained p<0.0097. So it can be concluded that there are significant differences in the hematocrit and platelet levels of biology students and sports students. Keywords: Blood, Hematocrit, Hematology, Platelets, t-test

Abstract

Rumah Sakit Hewan Sumatera Barat merupakan salah satu wadah yang disediakan oleh Dinas Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Laboratorium klinik menjadi salah satu laboratorium tempat pemeriksaan kimia darah.

Abstract

AbstractSanitation and environmental health are complex problems facing Indonesia today. If these problems are not addressed immediately, this will certainly have an impact on sanitation and environmental health in the settlements themselves, such as the emergence of germs. So this literature review aims to describe the description and handling strategies of slums settlements in Batang Arau Village, Padang City regarding sanitation and environmental health. The method used is qualitative and literature review. The results of the study show that the settlements in Batang Arau Village, Padang City have mild, medium, and large slums sanitation categories. The environment street and drinking water supply are in the low category. The medium category includes buildings, waste water management, and solid waste management. While environmental drainage and fire protection are included in the large category. The handling strategy that can be taken to deal with these slums settlements are to carry out a socialization program in the form of the Kotaku Program, create an environment-based slums settlement concept, carry out a community empowerment/ human resources (HR) strategy, carry out sustainable slums management, and carry out area management plans settlement. If this strategy is carried out, it will reduce slum settlements in the PadangCity. Keywords: Batang Arau Village, environmental health, slums, sanitation, handling strategies
