Abstract

One of the factors for the success of human resource management in an organization is employee performance. Organizations can be said to be successful when the performance of the organization's employees is good. The results of nursing audits are still low in one room, namely below 90%, the high rate of turnover that occurs in nurses every year, the influence of self-efficacy on the performance of nurses, and the level of clinical nurse IV are still small. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the effect of Self Efficacy and Career Development on Employee Engagement and Nurse Performance at Dharmais Cancer Hospital. The research sample consisted of 200 respondents. The design of this research is explanatory research of causality (explanatory research). The data analysis technique used the Three-Box Method and SEM (Structural Equation Model) with the AMOS 24 program. Abstract

Chemistry laboratories are inherently high-risk environments where poor Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) can contribute to Sick Building Syndrome (SBS)—a condition marked by symptoms such as headaches, respiratory irritation, and reduced concentration, which negatively affect user productivity and well-being. Ensuring optimal air circulation is critical to maintaining thermal comfort, air quality, and compliance with occupational health and safety standards. This study adopts a mixed-method approach using a sequential exploratory design to investigate user comfort perceptions in chemistry laboratories. Data were collected through surveys of 50 respondents from five educational institutions to capture the Voice of Customer (VoC) regarding environmental comfort. Qualitative findings were enriched through benchmarking and further analyzed using the House of Quality (HoQ) method to identify air circulation deficiencies and prioritize improvements. The analysis revealed that educational laboratories underperform in temperature control, humidity regulation, and air freshness when compared to industrial and training laboratories. Key factors affecting comfort include air circulation pathways (score = 42) and air regulation mechanisms (score = 36), followed by circulation points (score = 21) and air conditioning systems (score = 11). The proposed solution involves integrating cassette-type air conditioners with a Louver Fresh Air (LFA) system to enhance thermal stability and ensure fresh air exchange. These improvements are vital for preventing SBS, enhancing user well-being, and supporting effective laboratory-based learning.

Limited knowledge and skills among patients and family caregivers in performing home wound care remain major contributors to delayed healing and complications. This community service activity aimed to strengthen a home-based wound care education model for the management of chronic wounds in the community as a strategy to prevent complications. A community-based participatory approach was applied through structured education and home-based wound care assistance. The target participants were patients with chronic wounds and their family members as primary caregivers. The intervention included wound care education, demonstrations and hands-on practice, as well as regular home visits for ongoing assistance. Evaluation was conducted through observation of wound healing progress and monitoring of wound care practices during the assistance period. Throughout the series of visits, consistent wound healing progress was observed, characterized by improved granulation tissue, reduced exudate, decreased wound size, and progressive epithelialization without signs of complications. In addition, patients and family caregivers demonstrated improved skills and greater independence in performing wound care at home. Strengthening the home-based wound care education model effectively supports chronic wound healing and prevents complications in community settings. This model has the potential to be replicated and integrated into community nursing and primary healthcare services Keywords: Chronic Wounds, Home-Based Wound Care, Health Education, Community Nursing, Community Service.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition that requires comprehensive and long-term management, including non-pharmacological interventions that support patients’ quality of life. Rubber ball foot exercise represents a simple, low-cost physical activity designed to enhance peripheral circulation and strengthen lower extremity function. This study aims to explore the lived experiences of individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus who participated in a structured rubber ball foot exercise intervention. Employing a qualitative approach through Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), the study provides an in-depth understanding of participants’ perceptions, emotions, and reflections throughout the intervention process. Findings reveal that the exercise not only offers physiological benefits but also fosters self-confidence, hope, and social connectedness, serving as a meaningful space for psychosocial recovery. Despite practical challenges in home implementation such as limited space, family dynamics, and lack of structured reminders participants demonstrated notable adaptive strategies, including visual cues, family involvement, and spatial modifications. These responses highlight the importance of context-sensitive and participatory design in enhancing program adherence and sustainability. From an economic perspective, the intervention’s affordability, accessibility, and potential for independent practice underscore its relevance for resource-limited settings. Its integration into national programs such as Prolanis and Posbindu PTM may strengthen primary healthcare systems and promote community engagement in chronic disease prevention. Given its clinical efficacy, social relevance, and cost-efficiency, rubber ball foot exercise holds strategic potential as a sustainable, community-based intervention for non-communicable disease control.

Abstract

Introduction: Parental feeding practices significantly influence children’s eating habits and growth. In Indonesian urban settings, shifting diets and lifestyles have created a double burden of malnutrition. This study examined the relationship between parental feeding practices and the nutritional status of preschool children in West Jakarta, Indonesia. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 255 caregiver–child pairs (children aged 3-6 years) recruited from early childhood education centres in West Jakarta. Caregivers completed the Indonesian-adapted Child Feeding Questionnaire (CFQ), which classified feeding approaches as responsive or non-responsive. Children’s weight and height were measured, and nutritional status classified using WHO growth standards. Descriptive statistics were applied, followed by chi-square tests to examine associations between feeding practices and sociodemographic characteristics. Spearman’s rank correlation assessed the relationship between feeding practices and nutritional status. Multivariable multinomial logistic regression estimated adjusted associations controlling for maternal education, household income, recent illness, and participation in growth and development screening. Results: Among caregivers, 143 (56.1%) reported responsive feeding, while 112 (43.9%) used non-responsive feeding. Higher maternal education and household income were significantly associated with responsive feeding (p < 0.05), whereas recent illness was associated with non-responsive feeding. Feeding practices showed a weak but significant correlation with nutritional status (r = 0.123; 95% CI: 0.001-0.242 p = 0.04), explaining 1.5% of the variance. However, after adjustment, feeding practices were not independently associated with nutritional status. Recent illness increased the odds of undernutrition (aOR = 3.16; 95% CI: 1.61-6.21), while participation in growth and development screening demonstrated protective associations against undernutrition and overnutrition. Conclusion: Responsive feeding showed a modest association with nutritional status in bivariate analysis, while child health status and preventive service engagement emerged as stronger independent correlates. Integrating responsive feeding education into pediatric and community nursing practice may support family-centered strategies addressing determinants of child nutrition in urban settings.
