Abstract

Tele-exercise delivers remote physical activity programs via digital platforms, enhancing accessibility and adherence, making it a promising strategy to address obesity among workers. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of tele-exercise programs on body fat percentage, lipid profile, mental health measures and Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) gene expression measured via venipuncture & RT-PCR in obese office employees. A total of 33 overweight or obese employees (male/female, 18-45 years old, Body Mass Index (BMI) 23-30 kg/m2) were randomly assigned to the strength (SE) group, strength-cardio (SC) group, and control (CT) group. The strength exercise protocol included core training, circuit training, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Tabata training; cardio exercise includes low-high impact aerobic exercises. Each group was given nutrition education, whereas the two intervention groups participated in tele-exercise three times/week for twelve weeks. Tele-exercise was delivered via ZOOM application. Mental health indicators were measured using the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-42) questionnaire. Compliance levels between intervention groups did not differ significantly (p>0.05). There was a significant reduction in bodyweight in the SC group (p=0.046). Blood High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) levels increased only in the SC group (0.50 mg/dL), but decreased in the SE group and CT group. SIRT1 gene expression increased in SE and CT groups (2.39- and 5.33-fold, respectively), whereas a significant decrease was observed in the SC group (p=0.043). Only the SE group showed a significant reduction in stress level (p=0.03), with a decrease of 30.9%. Strength exercise intervention improves total cholesterol level by -19.09 mg/dL.

Limited knowledge and skills among patients and family caregivers in performing home wound care remain major contributors to delayed healing and complications. This community service activity aimed to strengthen a home-based wound care education model for the management of chronic wounds in the community as a strategy to prevent complications. A community-based participatory approach was applied through structured education and home-based wound care assistance. The target participants were patients with chronic wounds and their family members as primary caregivers. The intervention included wound care education, demonstrations and hands-on practice, as well as regular home visits for ongoing assistance. Evaluation was conducted through observation of wound healing progress and monitoring of wound care practices during the assistance period. Throughout the series of visits, consistent wound healing progress was observed, characterized by improved granulation tissue, reduced exudate, decreased wound size, and progressive epithelialization without signs of complications. In addition, patients and family caregivers demonstrated improved skills and greater independence in performing wound care at home. Strengthening the home-based wound care education model effectively supports chronic wound healing and prevents complications in community settings. This model has the potential to be replicated and integrated into community nursing and primary healthcare services Keywords: Chronic Wounds, Home-Based Wound Care, Health Education, Community Nursing, Community Service.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of brand image and servicescape on repurchase intention, with hospital reliability as an intervening variable. The background of this study is based on visit data showing a decline in the number of repeat patient visits at Sumber Waras Hospital as well as increasing competition among hospitals that demands improvement in service quality and trust-based marketing strategies. This study is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. Data were obtained through the distribution of questionnaires to 150 respondents who were outpatient consumers of executive polyclinic at Sumber Waras Hospital, Jakarta. The data obtained were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with the assistance of AMOS. The results of the study show that brand image and servicescape have an influence on reliability and repurchase intention. Reliability has an influence on repurchase intention. In addition, reliability can also act as mediating variable between brand image and servicescape. These findings indicate that the better the hospital’s brand image, the better the condition of the physical service environments, and the more reliable the services provided, the higher the consumers’ intention to reuse the services. The practical implication of this study is the importance for the management of Sumber Waras Hospital to strengthen the hospital’s positive brand image, improve the comfort of the physical environment (servicescape), and maintain consistency in providing the best services in order to create consumers repurchase intention that can increase patient loyalty.

Ethical approval was granted by the institutional ethics committee, and informed consent was obtained from all participants. Results:The main outcome was the implementation of post-surgical PCC. Findings indicated that Clinical Leadership, Clinical Competence, and Work Engagement significantly influenced PCC implementation when analyzed simultaneously. Clinical Leadership and Clinical Competence had a positive and significant effect on Work Engagement. Furthermore, Clinical Competence and Work Engagement directly improved PCC implementation, while Clinical Leadership did not show a direct significant effect. Work Engagement acted as a key mediator linking Clinical Leadership and Clinical Competence with PCC implementation. Conclusion:This study highlights the critical role of Work Engagement in enhancing the influence of Clinical Leadership and Competence on PCC implementation. Strengthening leadership, developing clinical skills, and fostering engagement among nurses can improve post-surgical care. Future research should adopt longitudinal designs and explore additional factors to deepen understanding and advance healthcare leadership knowledge.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition that requires comprehensive and long-term management, including non-pharmacological interventions that support patients’ quality of life. Rubber ball foot exercise represents a simple, low-cost physical activity designed to enhance peripheral circulation and strengthen lower extremity function. This study aims to explore the lived experiences of individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus who participated in a structured rubber ball foot exercise intervention. Employing a qualitative approach through Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), the study provides an in-depth understanding of participants’ perceptions, emotions, and reflections throughout the intervention process. Findings reveal that the exercise not only offers physiological benefits but also fosters self-confidence, hope, and social connectedness, serving as a meaningful space for psychosocial recovery. Despite practical challenges in home implementation such as limited space, family dynamics, and lack of structured reminders participants demonstrated notable adaptive strategies, including visual cues, family involvement, and spatial modifications. These responses highlight the importance of context-sensitive and participatory design in enhancing program adherence and sustainability. From an economic perspective, the intervention’s affordability, accessibility, and potential for independent practice underscore its relevance for resource-limited settings. Its integration into national programs such as Prolanis and Posbindu PTM may strengthen primary healthcare systems and promote community engagement in chronic disease prevention. Given its clinical efficacy, social relevance, and cost-efficiency, rubber ball foot exercise holds strategic potential as a sustainable, community-based intervention for non-communicable disease control.

Abstract

Introduction: Parental feeding practices significantly influence children’s eating habits and growth. In Indonesian urban settings, shifting diets and lifestyles have created a double burden of malnutrition. This study examined the relationship between parental feeding practices and the nutritional status of preschool children in West Jakarta, Indonesia. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 255 caregiver–child pairs (children aged 3-6 years) recruited from early childhood education centres in West Jakarta. Caregivers completed the Indonesian-adapted Child Feeding Questionnaire (CFQ), which classified feeding approaches as responsive or non-responsive. Children’s weight and height were measured, and nutritional status classified using WHO growth standards. Descriptive statistics were applied, followed by chi-square tests to examine associations between feeding practices and sociodemographic characteristics. Spearman’s rank correlation assessed the relationship between feeding practices and nutritional status. Multivariable multinomial logistic regression estimated adjusted associations controlling for maternal education, household income, recent illness, and participation in growth and development screening. Results: Among caregivers, 143 (56.1%) reported responsive feeding, while 112 (43.9%) used non-responsive feeding. Higher maternal education and household income were significantly associated with responsive feeding (p < 0.05), whereas recent illness was associated with non-responsive feeding. Feeding practices showed a weak but significant correlation with nutritional status (r = 0.123; 95% CI: 0.001-0.242 p = 0.04), explaining 1.5% of the variance. However, after adjustment, feeding practices were not independently associated with nutritional status. Recent illness increased the odds of undernutrition (aOR = 3.16; 95% CI: 1.61-6.21), while participation in growth and development screening demonstrated protective associations against undernutrition and overnutrition. Conclusion: Responsive feeding showed a modest association with nutritional status in bivariate analysis, while child health status and preventive service engagement emerged as stronger independent correlates. Integrating responsive feeding education into pediatric and community nursing practice may support family-centered strategies addressing determinants of child nutrition in urban settings.

Abstract

Hypertension is a major global health concern due to its often asymptomatic progression and its association with serious complications such as stroke, heart failure, and kidney disease. This study aimed to develop a functional food product, CelGar jelly, formulated from celery (Apium graveolens L.) and garlic (Allium sativum L.), which are traditionally recognized for their potential antihypertensive properties. Three types of tests were conducted to evaluate the product. A hedonic (sensory) test involving 20 untrained panelists assessed consumer acceptance based on color, aroma, taste, and texture using a five-point hedonic scale. Laboratory analysis was performed to determine the moisture and ash content to ensure compliance with food quality standards. In addition, a functional test using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design involved 12 respondents with hypertension to evaluate changes in blood pressure before and after the intervention. The results showed that CelGar jelly was generally acceptable to panelists, and the laboratory analysis confirmed that its moisture and ash content met the Indonesian National Standard for jelly candy. The functional test indicated a statistically significant reduction in systolic blood pressure, while no significant change was observed in diastolic blood pressure. These findings suggest that CelGar jelly has potential as a functional food product supporting blood pressure management, although further studies with larger samples are needed to confirm its health benefits
