Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of positive attitude (X1), social support (X2), and ease of form completion (X3) on Patient Safety Incident (PSI) reporting behavior (Y), with reporting intention (Z) as a mediating variable. Using a causal associative approach with a cross-sectional design, data were collected through questionnaires from 150 inpatient nurses selected via purposive sampling. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed to examine variable relationships. Key findings reveal: (1) positive attitude, social support, and ease of form completion significantly affect both reporting intention and PSI reporting behavior; (2) reporting intention partially mediates the relationship between the three independent variables and reporting behavior; (3) social support and ease of form completion exhibit the strongest direct effects on reporting behavior. The study highlights that strengthening patient safety culture requires integrating psychological (attitude), social (support), and technical (system usability) factors. Practical implications suggest hospital management should develop policies fostering positive attitudes through training, enhance social support via team collaboration, and streamline technology-based PSI reporting systems. These measures are expected to improve reporting transparency and accuracy, ultimately advancing patient safety service quality.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Peer Mentoring, Screen Time, Anak Prasekolah, Edukasi Non-Digital.  ABSTRACT Excessive screen time among preschool children is a common problem in urban areas. In RW 001 RT 02, Kramat Subdistrict, Central Jakarta, 75% of children aged 3-6 years were reported to have screen time exceeding on hour per day. This condition may hinder children’s cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral development, particularly when adequate non-digital activities are not available at home or within the community. This community service program aimed to reduce screen time among preschool children by providing community based non-digital educational activities through the empowerment of mosque-based adolescents as peer mentors. The program was implemented through five stages: (1) coordination and socialization, (2) training of adolescent peer mentors, (3) development of non-digital educational media, (4) implementation of educational play sessions, and (5) monitoring and evaluation. A total of 12 adolescents participated in the training and developed three types of non-digital educational media, including busy books, sensory play materials, and storytelling cards. Twelve mosque-based adolescents were trained as peer mentors, and three educational play sessions involved eight preschool children. Following the intervention, 30% of the participating children experienced a reduction in screen time to less than two hours per day. The program also enhanced adolescents skills in child facilitation, strengthened non-digital play activities, and established a youth forum to support program sustainability. The community-based peer mentoring model represents an effective and innovative approach to facilitating non-digital educational activities and reducing screen time among preschool children. Keywords: Peer Mentoring, Screen Time, Preschool Children, Non-Digital Education.

Abstract

Background: The treatment compliance of rifampicin-resistant tuberculosis (TB RO) patients in Indonesia remains suboptimal, with a therapy success rate of only 51%. Various psychosocial determinants such as perceived respect from healthcare providers, effective communication, and family support are believed to influence patients’ adherence, with motivation serving as a potential psychological mediator. Objective: This study aimed to examine the effects of respect, effective communication, and family support on treatment compliance among TB RO patients, with motivation as an intervening variable. Method: A quantitative approach using a cross-sectional design was applied. The study population comprised 116 TB RO patients treated at Tangerang City Hospital, and 90 respondents were selected using Slovin’s formula with simple random sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using SmartPLS 4. Results: Respect from healthcare providers did not significantly affect treatment compliance (T=0.533; p=0.594). Effective communication showed no direct influence on compliance, but had a significant indirect effect through motivation (T=3.349; p=0.001). Family support had a significant direct effect on compliance (T=2.058; p=0.040) and also influenced compliance indirectly via motivation. Motivation acted as a mediator between effective communication and family support with compliance, but did not mediate the effect of respect. Conclusion: Family support emerged as the most influential factor in improving treatment compliance among TB RO patients. Strengthening patients’ motivation through enhanced respect and effective communication from healthcare providers is recommended to improve adherence outcomes

Abstract

Introduction: Neurosurgical services in Class B hospitals present a high level of complexity due to limitations in technology, facilities, and human resources. This study aims to explore the subjective experiences of neurosurgical medical teams, comprising neurosurgeons, nurses, anesthetists, medical equipment technicians, and operating room managers, in interpreting their roles, confronting challenges, and developing adaptive strategies to support excellent healthcare services at a Class B hospital. Methods: Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed thematically following Colaizzi’s method. Results: The findings indicate that service excellence in neurosurgical care within a resource-limited hospital is maintained through the dynamic interaction between professional meaning-making, persistent multidimensional challenges, and adaptive resilience strategies. While individual and team-level adaptations effectively sustain daily performance, limited systemic support poses challenges to long-term sustainability. Conclusion: Overall, the study highlights that the success of excellent neurosurgical services in Class B hospitals depends more on personal resilience and team cohesion than on systemic support alone. Recommendation: It recommends systemic improvements in management, human resource policies, integrated communication systems, and sustainable psychosocial support to ensure the continuity of high-quality services amid structural limitations
