Abstract

Background;; Infectious diseases suffered by many people include Enterobacter infection from E.coli and skin infections due to S. aureus. One of the plants that have antibacterial properties is papaya like seeds and skin. Objekctives; The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of papaya skin and Seed (Carica papaya L.) extracts against S. aureus and E.coli. Method; The study used experimental method. The extraction used was maceration with ethanol 80%, 60% solvent. 40% and 20%. Antibacterial Activity Test using disc diffusion method and phytochemical screening test on papaya skin extract (Carica papaya L). Result; The results of screening tests on papaya skin extract (Carica papaya L) were positive for alkaloids, saponins, tannins, flavonoids and steroids. The results obtained at 60% ethanol showed that the combined extract of papaya skin and seeds (Carica papaya L) on S. aureus with concentrations (20:80) - (80:20) was 11.9 mm - 15.6 mm. In E. coli with a concentration (20:80) - (80:20) of 9.7 mm - 14.9 mm. Conclusion; The conclusions from the results of research on the combination of papaya skin and papaya seeds (Carica papaya L) of various concentrations inhibited S.aureus bacteria more than E.coli bacteria.

Abstract

Background; Mangosteen leaves (Garcinia mangostana L.) have secondary metabolites, namely phenolics, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and triterpenoids. Phenolics are one of the largest groups of compounds found in mangosteen leaves which have several pharmacological and therapeutic functions, one of which is anti-cancer. Objectives; To determine the total phenol content and profile of secondary metabolites and the type of phenolic extract of mangosteen leaves. Method; Using UV-Vis spectrophotometer Folin-Ciocalteu method with the gallic acid standard. Profile of secondary metabolites and phenolic types using LCMS. Results; Based on the research that has been done, the total phenolic content is obtained where the highest concentration is in the ethanol extract 96% (290.90 mg GAE/g extract or 29.08%), then ethyl acetate extract (161.07 mg GAE/g extract or 16, 10%). Identification of LCMS, detected 15 compounds, including 6 phenolic compounds. Phenolic compounds found were gallic acid, amarogentin, oleuropein glucoside, mandelic acid, vanillic acid, and gentisic acid.. Conclusion; Phenolic compounds can act as antioxidants by protecting body cells from damage caused by free radicals such as degenerative diseases, one of which is cancer due to free radical induction.

Abstract

Fermentasi kombucha bunga telang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antibakteri Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memformulasi sediaan sabun cuci tangan cair probiotik fermentasi kombucha bunga telang dan menguji aktivitas antibakteri sabun cuci tangan probiotik fermentasi kombucha bunga telang terhadap bakteri Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Bunga telang difermentasi dengan scoby selama 1 bulan. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Pseudomonas aeruginosa dilakukan dengan metode difusi cakram. Pengujian Rata-rata diameter zona hambat dari masing-masing sabun diolah menggunakan ANOVA satu jalur dan uji lanjut analisis pos hoc. Hasil ANOVA satu jalur telah terbukti bahwa masing-masing sediaan sabun cuci tangan kombucha bunga telang berpotensi dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Pseudomonasa aeruginosa dengan nilai F tabel lebih kecil daripada F hitung yang ditetapkan yaitu 0,05 sehingga dapat dilanjutkan melalui analisis pos hoc dimana sabun cuci tangan kombucha bunga telang pada konsentrasi 40% berbeda nyata dengan konsentrasi 20% dan 30% sebagai antibakteri P. aeruginosa. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa larutan fermentasi kombucha bunga telang dapat dibuat formulasi dan sediaan sabun cuci tangan probiotik dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri P. aeruginosa. Nilai rata-rata zona hambat pada masing-masing sabun adalah 2,83 mm (20%), 5,11 mm (30%), dan 8,66 mm (40%).

Abstract

Nelumbo nucifera is an aquatic plant that thrives in muddy and soggy soil, particularly in swampy environments. Nelumbo nucifera is utilized in traditional medicine for various purposes, including the management of diarrhea, tissue inflammation, and homeostasis. The flowers and leaves of Nelumbo nucifera contain many secondary metabolite chemicals, including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and antioxidants. The objective of this study is to ascertain the feasibility of formulating a cream scrub using the ethanol extract of Nelumbo nucifera flowers and leaves. Additionally, the study attempts to discover if concentrations of 3%, 5%, and 7% of this extract can effectively moisturize the skin. This research technique is based on experimentation, involving the creation of simplicia, the production of extracts, the formulation of body scrub preparations using ethanol extracts of Nelumbo nucifera flowers and leaves, and the subsequent evaluation of these body scrub preparations. This study found that the moisture content of Nelumbo nucifera flower ethanol extract cream increased by 41.2% in F1, 46.5% in F2, and 52.9% in F3. The humidity percentage values for Nelumbo nucifera leaf extract cream were obtained as follows: F1 at 38.8%, F2 at 44.4%, and F3 at 47.7%. The ethanol extract derived from the flowers and leaves of Nelumbo nucifera can be prepared and used as a cream scrub. A cream scrub containing Nelumbo nucifera flower and leaf extract at concentrations of 3%, 5%, and 7% can effectively moisturize the skin.

Abstract

Vegetable waste that is widely distributed in the Cilegon Banten coconut market contains pathogenic bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella thypi, and Escherichia coli. These pathogenic bacteria have the potential to cause extraordinary events (KLB), especially food poisoning. The appeal for vegetable waste managers at the Cilegon Banten coconut market to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria is to adopt a clean lifestyle by diligently washing hands with antibacterial hand washing soap after disposal of widely exposed vegetable waste along with a mixture of other infectious waste. Hand washing soap with the active ingredient telang flower kombucha in this study correlated positively in inhibiting the growth of four pathogenic bacteria. Research results have proven that hand washing soap at a concentration of 40% is the best antibacterial treatment.

Abstract

Body odor is a significant problem and is often encountered in some individuals characterized by excessive odor. A deodorant spray made from basil leaf (Ocimum Basilicum L.) extract is a product used to treat body odor caused by Staphylococcus Aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria. The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy of deodorant spray and basil leaf extract on bacterial activity, as well as the optimal dose of deodorant spray for lowering the activity of these bacteria. Method the research was conducted experimentally, testing antibacterial activity using agar diffusion. The results of the deodorant spray preparation test showed that the preparation was homogeneous, organoleptically brown in color, had a distinctive smell, and had a liquid texture; the pH test results met the requirements for deodorant spray 4.5-6.5. The average diameter of the inhibition zones produced from each preparation were Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria, positive control 7 mm, negative control 10.1 mm; formula 5% 12.3 mm; formula 10% 13.3 mm; formula 15% 12.7 mm maximum concentration in inhibiting bacteria is formula 10% by 13.3 mm, while the bacteria Staphylococcus Aureus positive control 13 mm, negative control 11.2 mm, 5% formula 13.1 mm; formula 10% 13.4 mm; 15% formula 13.9 mm maximum concentration in inhibiting bacteria is 15% formula 13.9 mm. Based on the inhibitory zone created by 10% basil leaf ethanol extract, Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria had a 13.3 mm clean zone and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria had a 26.5 mm clean zone.

Abstract

Gerakan tanah merupakan perpindahan masa tanah secara alami, longsor terjadi dalam waktu singkat dan dengan volume besar. Pengangkutan masa tanah terjadi sekaligus, sehingga tingkat kerusakan yang ditimbulkan besar. Dalam geologi ada beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi gerakan tanah, yaitu : kelerengan, litologi, air, vegetasi dan lain-lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk zonasi kerentanan gerakan tanah dengan menggunakan metode Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Dari penelitian yang dilakukan, zona kerentanan gerakan tanah di lokasi penelitian terbagi menjadi 5, yaitu : zona kerentanan sangat tinggi, zona kerentanan tinggi, zona kerentanan sedang, zona kerentanan aman dan zona kerentanan sangat aman. Semakin tinggi zona kerentanan maka semakin berbahaya untuk dijadikan sebagai tempat tinggal atau perkebunan untuk masyarakat.

Abstract

Gynura procumbens is a diuretic plant that has been used traditionally to cure kidney stones. In order to determine the calcium levels in the rats' kidneys, the anti-nephrolithiasis activity of male white rats was tested in this study.This research method was carried out experimentally in a laboratory which included sampling, plant identification, making simplicia, making ethanol extract of sambung nyawa leaves, characteristics of simplicia, phytochemical screening, administering animal test preparations, then the data was analyzed using the Anova test. Oral administration of succulent leaf extract is done at three different doses: 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg bw. A positive control is provided with Batugin elixir, which is 0.54 mL/125 g BW and induced at a volume of 7.5 mL/125 g BW/day using ethylene glycol 0.75% and ammonium chloride 2%. The study's findings demonstrated that, with a kidney stone inhibitor percentage of 31.71%, the ethanol extract of Sambung Nyawa leaves at a dose of 200 mg/kg BW was more successful in preventing the formation of kidney stones than doses of 50 mg/kg BW and 100 mg/kg BW. This proves that the ethanol extract from Sambung Nyawa leaves can be an alternative way to prevent kidney stones. The conclusion is that the ethanol extract of Gynura procumbens L. leaves has antinephrolithiasis activity in male white rats, especially at a dose of 200 mg/kg BW. It also reduced calcium oxalate levels in mice induced by ethylene glycol and ammonium chloride.

Abstract

Antioksidan adalah zat yang memiliki kemampuan untuk memperlambat, mencegah, atau menghilangkan kerusakan oksidatif terhadap molekul target seperti protein, lipid, dan deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Antioksidan memainkan peran penting dalam menetralkan dan menghancurkan radikal bebas. Beberapa tanaman diketahui dapat berperan sebagai antioksidan, salah satunya adalah tanaman asam kandis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol daun asam kandis serta kandungan senyawa kimia ekstrak etanol daun asam kandis. Studi eksperimental ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sifat antioksidan ekstrak daun asam kandis (Garcinia xanthochymus) dalam pelarut etanol, dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode ABTS. Hasil analisis nilai IC50 menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun asam kandis memiliki nilai IC50 sebesar 31,32 μg/mL pada metode ABTS yang artinya memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dalam kategori sangat kuat (IC50. < 50 mcg/ml). Pada vitamin c sebagai pembanding dengan metode ABTS memiliki nilai IC50 sebesar 48,81 μg/mL yang artinya memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dalam kategori sangat kuat. Hal ini menunjukkan sampel ekstrak etanol daun asam kandis Garcinia xanthocymus memiliki potensi untuk menjadi alternatif sebagai penggunaan aktivitas antioksidan alami. kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah Ekstrak etanol daun asam kandis menunjukkan adanya aktivitas antioksidan berdasarkan pengujian dengan metode pemerangkapan radikal bebas ABTS dengan nilai IC50 adalah 31,32 μg/ml kategori sangat kuat.

Abstract

Tumbuhan ara (Ficus racemosa L.) sangat memiliki khasiat sebagai antidiare, antiinflamasi, antioksidan dan lain sebagainya. Antioksidan dalam krim berfungsi sebagai pelembab untuk melindungi kulit dari radikal bebas dengan cara membentuk lapisan lemak tipis di permukaan kulit dan memperlambat kerusakan akibat proses oksidasi. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk membuat formulasi dari sediaan krim pelembab dengan menggunakan  ekstrak etanol buah ara (Ficus racemosa L.) sebagai pelembab alami kulit dan menentukan konsentrasi terbaik yang memenuhi persyaratan standar Farmakope Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimental. pembuatan ekstrak buah ara dilakukan dengan cara maserasi, konsentrasi ekstrak buah ara ditambahkan ke dalam sediaan formulasi krim 10%, 20% dan 30%. Pengujian sediaan meliputi uji organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, daya sebar, tipe krim, viskositas, iritasi, hedonik dan stabilitas. Analisis data menggunakan uji anova. Hasil menunjukkan sediaan krim pelembab memenuhi syarat evaluasi fisik sediaan yaitu memiliki tekstur semi solid, dengan aroma pewangi krim, warna pada setiap formula berbeda beda, F0 berwarna putih, formula F1 (10%) coklat muda, F2 (20%) coklat pekat, F3 (30%) Coklat hitam. Semua sediaan homogen dan tidak mengiritasi kulit. Memiliki pH berkisar 5-6,3, daya sebar 5-6,7 cm dengan viskositas 9326-13918 Cs, uji stabilitas dengan metode cycling test selama 12 hari memiliki stabilitas yang baik. Hasil rata-rata persentase peningkatan kelembaban pada F0 (17,77%), F1 (35,57%), F2 (49,87%), F3 (51,93%) dan kontrol positif (56,5%). Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji anova menunjukkan ada perbedaan yang signifikan dari ketiga konsentrasi yang diuji. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan sediaan krim pelembab yang diformulasikan dapat melembabkan kulit secara alami, dan disetiap minggunya terjadi peningkatan kelembaban kulit. dan konsentrasi terbaik sediaan krim pelembab yaitu F3 dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 30%.
