Abstract

Learning mathematics is possible because of problems in learning facts, concepts, operations and principles. Students who need help teaching mathematics often make mistakes in counting. This research aims to analyze the difficulties experienced by students in fractional material with the types of intelligent thinking, feeling and sensing in learning mathematics. This research approach uses a qualitative approach to document study and interviews. The sample in this study was fourth-grade elementary school students. The sampling technique used is random sampling. Primary data and secondary data are the source of data in this study. The instrument used is in the form of interview sheets and questions regarding fractional material in mathematics lessons. Data analysis was carried out based on the Miles and Huberman model. Based on the results of the STIFIn test, it was found that the Feeling, Sensing and Thinking students were superior in mastering the concept of fractions to the Instinct and Intuiting students. Furthermore, students' strategies in developing fractional problem-solving strategies are comparing fractions with other simple standard fractions, comparing fractions based on the denominator and quantifier, and making fraction representations in the form of flat structures to understand and compare fractions.

Abstract

Students' negative attitude is a problem that interferes with the science learning process in public and private schools. Students' negative attitude in learning science is a complex problem to solve. The negative attitude shown is that students are disobedient when given assignments and dislike them. It will have an impact on low student learning outcomes. This study aims to determine students' attitudes towards science subjects by comparing private and public schools. The type of research used is a descriptive mixed method. The instrument of this type of quantitative research is in the form of a questionnaire, while the qualitative instrument is an interview sheet for students and teachers of science subjects. The number of samples was 236 students using the purposive sampling technique, while the qualitative samples were eight students and two science teachers. The quantitative analysis technique used is descriptive statistics, and the qualitative analysis technique summarizes the results of the interviews. The result is that students' attitudes towards science subjects in public and private junior high schools are already promising. Based on student attitudes, public schools are categorized as having slightly better attitudes than private schools. The results of interviews with students and teachers can also be revealed that most students have positive attitudes towards science, students who are not positive with actions such as teachers, are active alone when learning activities take place, disturb friends, etc. are at least harmful. Attitudes must be changed in students. The results show that public junior high school students have slightly more positive attitudes than private students.

Abstract

The success of education in a country automatically also shows the progress of a country. In essence, education itself is a conscious effort to develop personality and within oneself. School is a place where education is held for the purpose of national education. However, not all schools can achieve the expected goals. Like a school that has priority on certain subjects. One of them is Madrasah Tsanawiyah which dominates subjects with religion. So the importance of this study aims to determine the differences and the relationship between the interests and skills of students in learning mathematics with flat side space material. This study uses quantitative methods with associative and comparative types. The sampling technique used in this study used simple random sampling. From the results of the T test and the correlation obtained, it was found that there were differences in the process skills and interests of students with regard to the material build flat side space. This is evidenced by the value of sig (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05. So can be concluded that student interest affects the process skills of students at MTsN (Madrasah Tsanawiyah) and there is a significant relationship between students' interest and process skills in mathematics with flat-sided geometry. There are limitations in this study where this study only measures students' skills, interests have not been tested with other variables such as attitudes, motivation and others.

Abstract

Character education is everything the teacher does to influence the character of students. The teacher helps shape student behavior by giving examples, how to speak or deliver good material, and various other related things. This study aims to explore character values in physics learning in the materials of momentum, impulse, and collision. The method used is qualitative with a type of documentation study research. The instrument used by researchers is to collect books, both softbooks/hardbooks, as well as related literature. This research shows the results that in class X there are several characters that are not applied by students during the learning process, this is because in the learning process students are not directed to these character values, of course it will have a negative impact on students because it will affect the student learning process. as well as social moments in the student's environment. The research recommendation is that it is hoped that in the future the character values of students will be more refined so that they can build and produce a better generation. The urgency of this research is that during learning the teacher can add characters that are not yet in the teacher's book so that character education for students can fulfill character values.
