Abstract

This research aims to explore the development and transformation of Muhammadiyah thought from puritanism to cosmopolitanism. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research model. The source of data for this research is by searching for books and scientific articles in online journals with the help of the Publish or Perish application and Google Scholar. After the data is found, it is filtered and classified according to the theme discussed. Furthermore, the author will present the results of the research in the form of narratives and graphs, making it easier to understand the discussion. The results of this research can be concluded, that Muhammadiyah as a modernist Islamic movement, is rooted in the spirit of puritanism which emphasises the purification of Islamic teachings based on sacred texts and practices of the salaf generation. Over time, the organisation underwent a transformation towards cosmopolitanism, which integrates inclusive, adaptive, and universal values. This shift was influenced by globalisation, the dynamics of science, and contextual needs, which encouraged Muhammadiyah to combine puritanism with tajdid (renewal). Through the concept of Islam Berkemajuan, Muhammadiyah carries the vision of universal humanitarian solidarity, dialogue between civilizations, and active participation in global issues. This transformation reflects a shift from a doctrine-based movement to one that contributes significantly to the welfare of humanity, maintaining relevance at the national level, while expanding its influence on the global stage.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman yang lebih detail tentang pemikiran Haidar Nasir sebagai Tokoh Muhammadiyah tentang Islam berkemajuan dimana konsep Islam berkemajuan ini menjadi core value yang dikembangkan oleh organisasi Muhammadiyah saat ini untuk menjawab perubahan sekaligus tantangan zaman. Islam berkemajuan ini dibangun dari semangat keberislaman yang dapat memberikan kebermanfaatan untuk semua umat, dan dapat beradaptasi dengan perkembangan teknologi dan ilmu pengetahuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yang dianalisis dengan penelitian keperpustakaan dengan cara mengumpulkan data dari berbagai sumber buku, jurnal dan artikel ilmiah yang mempunyai relevansi dengan topik penelitian. Selanjutnya data-data temuan dianalisa secara deskriptif yang mencakup analisis literatur tentang pemikiran Islam berkemajuan menurut Haidar Nasir sehingga dapat membantu pembaca untuk memahami bahwa konsep Islam berkemajuan itu perlu dikembangkan dan diaplikasikan dalam masyarakat. Hasil dari penelitian ini menjelaskan Islam berkemajuan ini merupakan suatu konsep kebaharuan dalam mengaplikasikan ajaran Islam dalam kehidupan beragama dan bermasyarakat. Haidar Nasir menekankan bahwa untuk menjadi agama yang dapat memberikan manfaat kepada semua umat maka harus ada sebuah pemikiran yang lebih progresif dan inklusif dalam pelaksanaan ajaran Islam sehingga dapat beradaptasi dengan perubahan yang terjadi.

Abstract

Kepala sekolah memiliki tanggungjawab terhadap berbagai arah pengembangan yang diharapkan di sekolah tanpa terkecuali moderasi beragama peserta didik. Moderasi beragama di madrasah dibutuhkan untuk menciptakan suasana kenyamanan bagi warga madrasah dalam menjalankan agamanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan pengaruh peranan kepala madrasah dan strategi guru terhadap penguatan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama. Penelitian adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode ex post facto. Penelitian ini menganalisis tiga variabel dengan variabel bebas sebanyak dua buah dan variabel terikatnya satu. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh warga MTs Negeri 2 Kota Sawahluto, sedangkan sampel terdiri dari 10 orang guru dan 30 orang siswa dari tingkatan kelas yang berbeda-beda. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan form observasi lingkungan madrasah dan angket yaitu angket peranan kepala madrasah, strategi guru dan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama. Analisis data terdiri dari analisis data deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial. Pada analisis statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan uji regresi sederhana dan uji korelasi berganda. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa peranan kepala madrasah dan strategi guru berpengaruh terhadap penguatan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama. Pengaruh peran kepala madrasah terhadap penguatan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Kota Sawahlunto mempunyai nilai product moment sebesar 0,008 dengan tingkat korelasi sebesar 0,885 yang menunjukkan korelasi yang sangat tinggi. Pengaruh strategi guru terhadap penguatan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Kota Sawahlunto mempunyai nilai product moment sebesar 0,025 dengan tingkat korelasi sebesar 0,741 yang menunjukkan korelasi yang tinggi. Selain itu, peran kepala madrasah dan strategi guru sama-sama memberikan pengaruh terhadap penguatan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Kota Sawahlunto. Pengaruh ini diperlihatkan dari hasil uji ganda dengan nilai sebesar 0,032 0,05 yang menunjukkan hubungan antara variabel simultan dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,762 yang berarti hubungan antar variabel kuat.

Abstract

The development of an Islamic Education curriculum requires a strong philosophical foundation so that it does not become limited to technical-administrative aspects. This article aims to explain the relationship between foundational philosophy, institutional vision and mission, and their implementation in designing the Islamic Religious Education curriculum. This study employs a qualitative method with a content analysis approach using various literature sources that discuss educational policy, curriculum theory, and implementation practices in Islamic educational institutions. The analysis indicates that the philosophy of Islamic education serves as the basis for formulating learning objectives oriented toward Tauhid values and character formation. The vision and mission function as a bridge between philosophical values and the operational direction of the curriculum. In addition, the development of curriculum components such as objectives, content, methods, and evaluation requires principles of relevance, flexibility, continuity, efficiency, and effectiveness. The review of practices in Madrasah Aliyah and Vocational High Schools suggests differences in implementation emphasis according to each institution’s context. These findings indicate that the alignment between foundational philosophy, vision and mission, and curriculum structure is essential for producing a more adaptive and contextually relevant Islamic Religious Education curriculum.

Abstract

The capacity of teachers is part of the requirements to realize the educational goals that have been set, it can be affirmed that if teachers do not have adequate capacity then the expectation to realize the goals of education is very minimal. Therefore, this activity is designed to provide information to teachers in the PDM Kuantan Singingi environment about strategies that can be done to realize themselves as teachers who have the capacity. This devotional activity involves various parties in accordance with their respective tupoksi. The result of this activity is that through the day seminar activities pai and ISMUBA teachers have comprehensive knowledge related to strategies to increase capacity as teachers. This is said because the material submitted relates to the necessity of a teacher to have conceptual and practical knowledge related to learning methods, teaching materials, utilization of information technology and evaluation of learning.

Abstract

Konsep Islam Berkemajuan yang diperkenalkan oleh Haedar Nashir merupakan sebuah paradigma keagamaan yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai dasar Islam dengan tuntutan perkembangan kontemporer melalui dimensi tauhid, pencerahan, ilmu pengetahuan, keadilan sosial, dan moderasi beragama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan gagasan Haedar Nashir mengenai Islam Berkemajuan serta menguraikan implikasinya bagi pengembangan pendidikan di madrasah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan fokus pada analisis literatur melalui pendekatan interpretatif terhadap karya-karya Nashir, dokumen Muhammadiyah, dan kajian akademik yang relevan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Islam Berkemajuan menekankan penguatan akal, moralitas, dan peradaban melalui pendidikan yang integratif dan berorientasi kemajuan. Implikasinya bagi madrasah mencakup pengembangan kurikulum yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Islam dengan ilmu pengetahuan modern, penguatan moderasi beragama, peningkatan kompetensi guru, serta penerapan manajemen kelembagaan yang profesional.

Abstract

The article Muhammadiyah Was Born in Java and Raised in Minangkabau: History, Intellectualism, and the Modern Islamic Movement discusses the history of the birth of Muhammadiyah as a Modern Islamic movement in Indonesia, focusing on Java as the birthplace and Minangkabau as the place of growth and development and the size of this organization. Muhammadiyah was founded by KH Ahmad Dahlan as a quick response to the condition of Muslims who were trapped in the practice of Tahayul, Bid'ah and Churafat (TBC), the weakness of the education system, the fading of religious thought and resistance to Dutch colonialism. Through qualitative analysis and a historical approach to various library sources, this research targets the causes of the birth, process of spread, acceptance and growth of Muhammadiyah in Minangkabau. The results of this research show that the social and intellectual conditions of Minangkabau society are very much in line with the spirit of reform or tajdid promoted by Muhammadiyah, such as the Islamic scientific tradition, the culture of going abroad for men, as well as the Minang philosophy, adat basandi syarak, syarak basandi kitabullah. This Minangkabau climate has supported the development of Muhammadiyah in Minangkabau, not only as an Islamic organization but also as an intellectual force, impacting educational reform, Islamic thought, and progressive Islam. Consequently, the phrase "Muhammadiyah was born in Java and grew up in Minangkabau" illustrates the historical process of complementarity between Muhammadiyah's ideas and local Minangkabau culture.Keywords: Muhammadiyah, Minangkabau, Intellectualism, Modern Islamic Movement

Abstract

Kurikulum merupakan fondasi utama dalam pendidikan karena menjadi arah seluruh proses pembelajaran, pembinaan peserta didik, dan penggunaan sumber daya pendidikan. Dalam konteks Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI), kurikulum berfungsi tidak hanya untuk mentransmisikan pengetahuan keagamaan, tetapi juga membentuk kepribadian, karakter, dan keterampilan hidup berdasarkan nilai-nilai Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji konsep kurikulum PAI, komponen utamanya, serta relevansinya dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik di era disrupsi digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kajian pustaka (library research) dengan teknik analisis isi melalui penelusuran literatur ilmiah seperti buku, artikel jurnal, laporan penelitian, dan dokumen kurikulum nasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum PAI secara substantif telah dirancang untuk membentuk peserta didik secara holistik melalui integrasi aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik. Pembentukan karakter religius akan efektif apabila komponen kurikulum (tujuan, materi, metode, dan evaluasi) berjalan selaras, ditunjang keteladanan guru dan budaya sekolah yang religius. Kurikulum PAI juga dinilai relevan dengan tantangan era modern karena mampu menjadi fondasi moral dan spiritual untuk membentengi peserta didik dari degradasi nilai akibat teknologi dan globalisasi. Penelitian ini menegaskan perlunya implementasi kurikulum PAI secara konsisten dan transformatif agar dapat menghasilkan generasi peserta didik yang berpengetahuan, berakhlak mulia, dan siap menghadapi dinamika sosial zaman.

Abstract

The quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in schools plays a crucial role in shaping the character and morals of Generation Z (Gen Z), who are growing up in the era of rapid digitalization. This article presents a critical review from an academic perspective on the quality of PAI, focusing on four main aspects: curriculum, management, supervision, and quality outcomes in the school environment. Digitalization offers significant opportunities and challenges, particularly in the relevance of teaching materials, the effectiveness of institutional management, professional supervision of teachers, and the achievement of educational goals. This analysis uses the framework of contemporary Islamic education and management figures to offer rational arguments and proactive solutions so that PAI can produce graduates who are not only digitally proficient but also strong in faith and noble character. Abstract

Curriculum is a fundamental component of the education system that determines the direction, content, and quality of learning in schools. This conceptual article aims to analyze the philosophical, juridical, conceptual, theoretical, and empirical foundations that underlie the development of the 2013 Curriculum in Indonesia. Using a library research approach, the study explores the relationship between national education goals and curriculum design principles. Findings indicate that the 2013 Curriculum is supported by philosophical foundations rooted in Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, juridical legitimacy through educational laws, conceptual frameworks emphasizing competence and scientific learning approaches, theoretical bases derived from modern learning theories, and empirical evidence from educational practice. The article concludes that the integration of these five foundations ensures that the 2013 Curriculum aligns with the vision of national education in shaping holistic, competent, and character-based learners.Keywords: Curriculum Development; Education Philosophy; Juridical Foundation; Learning Theory; 2013 Curriculum
