Abstract

This study aims to describe the results of the analysis of the essential basic competencies of Indonesian history subjects in the emergency curriculum period based on the principles of UKRK (Urgency, Continuity, Relevance, Usability). The syllabus used by Indonesian history teachers at the beginning of the pandemic and in the transition after the issuance of Keputusan Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik No 719/P Tahun 2020 still uses the syllabus made during the conditions before Covid-19. As a result, learning Indonesian history sourced from the syllabus is irrelevant to current conditions.This research uses descriptive qualitative research. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, document analysis, interviews, and literature study. The results showed that the Basic Competence (KD) contained in the previous syllabus was a collection of KD made with normal living conditions. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced the learning pattern that was originally in the classroom to change to Distance Learning (PJJ). So, KD in normal conditions syllabus is still used, so this is irrelevant and very difficult for students. Therefore, this study recommends the results of essential KD analysis in compulsory history subjects. So that it can be used by history teachers throughout Indonesia.

Abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF ANDROID-BASED RIAU PROVINCIAL WARRIOR FIGURE E-MODULE AS A DIGITAL LEARNING RESOURCE FOR LOCAL HISTORY. Traditionally, teachers have often developed teaching materials using conventional module approaches. Conventional modules are teaching materials presented in print format, which are frequentlyunappealing and inflexible, leading to a lack of interest from students. Therefore, E-Modules development is highly suitable because they offer numerous benefits, particularly regarding accessibility. This research aims to develop an Android-based E-Module about the heroic figures from Riau Province. The objectives of this design are (1) to create an E-Module that is easily accessible anytime and anywhereand (2) to introduce heroic figures and local history of Riau Province through an Android-based technological approach. This study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method to design and evaluate the effectiveness of the developed product. The development model used is the 4D (Four D) model, which includes Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. This research indicatesthat the designed E-Module meets adequacy standards and can be used as a learning media. Additionally, student feedback on the E-Module has been very positive. Selama ini guru sering mengembangkan bahan ajar dengan pendekatan modul konvensional. Modul konvensional adalah bahan ajar yang disampaikan dalam format cetak yang seringkali tidak aktraktif dan tidak fleksibel sehingga membuat siswa tidak tertarik untuk membacanya. Untuk itu, pengembangan E-Modul sangat cocok diterapkan karena memiliki manfaat yang banyak sekali terutama terkait aksesibilitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan E-Modul mengenai cerita tokoh pejuang dari Provinsi Riau yang berbasis android. Tujuan dari perancangan ini yaitu untuk (1) menciptakan E-Modul yang mudah diakses kapan saja dan dimana saja serta (2) mengenalkan tokoh pejuang dan sejarah lokal Provinsi Riau dengan pendekatan teknologi berbasis android. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) untuk merancang dan mengevaluasi efektivitas produk yang dirancang. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model 4D (Four D) yang meliputi define (pendefinisian), design(perancangan), develop(pengembangan) dan disseminate (penyebaran). Adapun hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa E-Modul yang dirancang memenuhi standar kecukupan dan dapat diterapkan sebagai media pembelajaran. Selain itu, tanggapan siswa terhadap E-Modul tersebut menunjukan reaksi yang sangat positif.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an innovative learning media in the form of a Pop-up Book integrated with animated video for teaching the topic of the Japanese occupation in Indonesia to 11th-grade students at SMAN 2 Siak Hulu. The study addresses the limited use of technology-based media in history learning, which is still dominated by conventional lectures and lacks visual learning aids. The development process adopted the ADDIE model, encompassing Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The media was developed using Microsoft PowerPoint and enhanced with 2D and 3D visual elements, then converted into animated video format accessible via smartphones and projectors. Validation was conducted by subject matter experts and media experts, yielding "very feasible" ratings with scores of 85% and 90%, respectively. Student responses in small and large group trials also showed high feasibility scores of 81% and 89%. The results indicate that the media effectively increases student engagement, improves understanding of historical chronology, and supports independent learning. The novelty of this research lies in the digital transformation of Pop-up Book media, offering a more flexible and engaging history learning experience suitable for digital-native students. This media has potential for wider application and further development across other historical themes and subjects.

Abstract

This community service activity was organized for History Subject Teacher Forum (MGMP) educators in Pekanbaru City, aiming to implement the search for local historical sources via the delpher.nl website. linking these sources to colonial history curricula at the high school level. The program comprised four stages: preparation, search strategy design, training implementation, and evaluation. Throughout the activity, teachers gained the insights and skills needed to explore local historical sources on delpher.nl, analyze the information, and integrate it into classroom instruction on colonial history. The results demonstrate that the training successfully enhanced the teachers' ability to use delpher.nl efficiently, fostered innovation in the development of teaching materials, and supported a history learning process that is engaging, interactive, and grounded in historical values ​​consistent with original records.

Abstract

One of the efforts to use the surrounding environment as a learning resource is to make the PDRI Museum a learning resource in learning history. The history teacher of SMA Negeri 1 Gunuang Omeh District used the location as a contextual learning resource for students. This research aims to: (1) find out the use of the PDRI Museum as a learning resource in history learning at SMA Negeri 1 Gunuang Omeh District. (2) To find out the obstacles faced by teachers and students in utilizing the PDRI Museum as a learning resource in learning history at SMA Negeri 1 Gunuang Omeh District. (3) To find out the impact of the use of the PDRI Museum as a learning resource in history learning at SMA Negeri 1 Gunuang Omeh District. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method that aims to describe the use of the PDRI Museum as a learning resource in history learning for students at SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Omeh District. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis uses the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. In its implementation, the history teacher of SMA Negeri 1 Gunuang Omeh District uses the PDRI Museum as a learning resource through the field trip learning model. Although there are a number of obstacles faced during the process of using the museum, the application of this field trip model has proven to have a positive impact, both on improving the quality of history learning and on the growth of students' appreciative attitude towards local history.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a digital comic based on Flipbook technology for teaching the local history topic of the Rengat Bloody Incident on January 5, 1949. The research was motivated by the limited use of innovative digital learning media in history education, which often causes students to lose interest and experience difficulties in understanding local historical events. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The study was conducted at SMAN 1 Rengat involving history teachers, media experts, material experts, and students of class XI.5 as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test instruments. The results showed that the digital comic Flipbook media was categorized as highly feasible based on expert validation results from both media and material validators. In addition, the implementation results indicated that the media effectively improved students’ motivation, understanding, and learning outcomes in local history learning. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of local historical content with interactive Flipbook-based digital comics that are accessible through digital devices and designed according to students’ learning characteristics in the digital era. Therefore, the developed media can serve as an innovative and engaging learning resource for history education.

Abstract

This study discusses the impact of the existence of Universitas Riau on improving the quality of human resources in Riau Province during 1962–2022. The objectives of this study are (1) to determine the impact of Universitas Riau on human resource quality, (2) to identify the role of Universitas Riau in improving human resources, and (3) to examine the supporting and inhibiting factors in improving human resources quality in Riau Province. This study uses the historical research method with the stages of heuristics, source verification, interpretation, and historiography. The results show that Universitas Riau has significantly contributed to improving human resources quality through education, research, and community service. In addition, Universitas Riau has developed in educational facilities, study programs, and graduate quality, while supporting scientific and community development in Riau Province.

Abstract

Limbah kulit nanas merupakan limbah organik berpotensi besar yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal di tingkat perdesaan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan warga Desa Muntai Barat dalam mengolah limbah kulit nanas menjadi minuman fermentasi probiotik (tepache) berbasis potensi lokal. Pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan metode pelatihan interaktif yang terdiri dari tiga tahapan: persiapan (survei dan penyiapan materi), pelaksanaan (edukasi teoritis, demonstrasi, dan praktik pembuatan), serta evaluasi. Tahapan pembuatan tepache meliputi pencucian dan pemotongan bahan, pencampuran dengan larutan gula merah dan rempah-rempah (kayu manis, cengkeh, jahe), fermentasi terkontrol selama 1–3 hari, penyaringan, hingga pengemasan. Evaluasi dilakukan secara kuantitatif melalui lembar pemahaman dan uji ketercapaian praktik mandiri. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta sebesar 85% terkait teknik fermentasi dan sanitasi bahan pangan rumah tangga. Seluruh kelompok peserta (100%) berhasil mempraktikkan tahapan pembuatan tepache secara mandiri dan higienis. Program ini terbukti efektif sebagai solusi pengolahan limbah organik berbasis zero waste sekaligus membuka peluang wirausaha rumahan baru yang mendukung pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat Desa Muntai Barat.

Abstract

Desa Muntai, Kecamatan Bantan, Kabupaten Bengkalis, merupakan wilayah pesisir yang memiliki potensi sumber daya perikanan yang cukup besar, khususnya ikan tenggiri. Potensi tersebut perlu dioptimalkan melalui pengembangan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengolah hasil perikanan menjadi produk pangan yang memiliki nilai tambah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat Desa Muntai dalam melakukan diversifikasi produk ikan tenggiri melalui pembuatan dimsum. Kegiatan dilaksanakan sebagai bagian dari program KUKERTA Berdampak Universitas Riau Tahun 2026 dengan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dan praktik langsung. Kegiatan meliputi pengenalan potensi ikan tenggiri, pemberian informasi mengenai diversifikasi produk pangan, demonstrasi pembuatan dimsum, serta praktik pengolahan bersama masyarakat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan memberikan pengetahuan, pengalaman, dan keterampilan praktis baru kepada masyarakat dalam mengolah ikan tenggiri menjadi produk pangan yang lebih beragam. Kegiatan ini juga mendukung pemanfaatan sumber daya perikanan lokal serta memperkenalkan peluang pengembangan produk olahan berbahan dasar ikan yang memiliki nilai tambah. Kolaborasi antara mahasiswa, pemerintah desa, dan masyarakat turut mendukung keberhasilan pelaksanaan program. Selain meningkatkan keterampilan praktis, kegiatan ini memberikan kesempatan kepada masyarakat untuk mengeksplorasi metode pengolahan pangan yang dapat mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan sumber daya perikanan yang tersedia secara lokal serta mendukung kemandirian masyarakat.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to create a project evaluation tool that can be used to evaluate students' knowledge of how to use historical sources at the University of Riau's History Study Program. The three steps of the employed instrument development approach are: (i) problem analysis and instrument development needs; (ii) development of a framework for project evaluation instruments; and (iii) validation tests, instrument trials, and instrument changes by experts. 54 randomly chosen students from the history education study program at Riau University made up the research subjects. Research data was gathered through surveys and literature reviews. The SPSS version 25.0 application is used to do statistical analysis as part of the data analysis approach. 4.416. This demonstrates the instrument's excellent design and alignment with the intended use of the measurement. With an average score of 4.24, the test results further demonstrate this instrument's capacity to deliver reliable assessments. The instrument's validity and reliability scored highly. Based on these results, it can be said that the project evaluation tool created in this study has strong validity and reliability in assessing students in the University of Riau's History Study Program's capacity to use historical materials. This test is a useful tool for determining how well students can examine and comprehend historical sources. In the subject of historical education, this study has a significant impact on the creation of project assessment tools and can serve as the foundation for future advancements.
