Abstract

This article describes issue of mechanical worshop facilities and infrastructures at Vocational High School 1 Padang, aims to evaluate the availability and feasibility of facilities and infrastructure, in order to encourage learning process of mechanical engineering. This study reviews aspects related to the adequacy of mechanical workshop’s facilities and infrastructures including the existence and condition of machine, workshop space to other supporting infrastructure linked to work productivity and safety such as wall, lighting, ventilation, and floor conditions. Descriptive quantitative method was used with data collection techniques consisting of observation, interview with workshop managers, and documentation. The result revealed 87% of the facilities were classified as operational and available to support practical activities. Total percentage of feasibility for each workshop are: 90% of the lathe workshop, 77% of the miling machine workshop, 90% of the bench workshop, and 92 % of the welding and grinding machine workshop. The maximum percentage of facility feasibilities which is 100% has not been achieved, influenced by several factors related to the damage and unavailability of several items. In infrastructure, the ventilation is of standard size; lighting is appropriate and sufficient; the wall is of limited height and filled with large machines resulting in limited space for movement; the floor of the lathe workshop is inadequate with a number of cement patches on the floor cracks. Indicating the need for repairs and upgrades to increase the percentage of feasibility to maximum.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of Human Factor Training, Engineer Competence, and Work Motivation on Aircraft Engineer Performance in the Line Maintenance Unit of Garuda Maintenance Facility AeroAsia. A quantitative descriptive-correlational design was employed. The population consisted of 103 aircraft engineers across three maintenance stations (KNO, CGK, and SUB). Following instrument validation with 30 engineers, 73 engineers were selected as the main sample using cluster random sampling. Data were collected through a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS 25. Human Factor Training significantly influenced engineer performance (t = 6.642; p < 0.001), as did Engineer Competence (t = 2.192; p = 0.032). In contrast, Work Motivation showed no significant effect (t = 1.763; p = 0.082). Simultaneously, the three variables significantly affected engineer performance (F = 288.248; p < 0.001). Human Factor Training emerged as the strongest predictor of engineer performance, followed by Engineer Competence. Although Work Motivation was positively related to performance, its contribution was not statistically significant, suggesting that performance in aircraft maintenance is more strongly influenced by technical competence, safety training, and compliance with aviation regulations and standard operating procedures.

Abstract

School climate is a situation formed by a relationship between the principal and teachers, teachers and teachers, teachers and staffs, teachers and students or relationships among students that characterizes a school and distinguishes a school from others.  School climate might influence and determine the success of teaching and learning process at schools.  The school climate consists of at least four dimensions, namely dimension of relationship, personal growth/development, system maintenance and change, and dimension of physical environment.  Based on the studies done in several countries, school climate can be a variable influencing other variables, such as learning achievement, behavior and teacher job satisfaction, teacher work motivation, teacher morale, teacher creativity, teacher work performance, and teacher discipline. So, when the school principal wants to improve those practices, he or she has to make better school climate through common stages namely preliminary assessment, feedback, reflection and discussion, intervention, and finally reassessment.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the education policies and the steps for ensuring the quality of education at SMPN 22 Padang. This research uses a qualitative approach. The type of research is a case study (single case study). The research subjects consisted of 15 informants selected purposively by considering their direct involvement in the implementation of education quality assurance at the school. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation study. Data analysis was conducted interactively, involving stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The research was conducted at SMPN 22 Padang, located at Jl. Tut Wuri Siteba, Nanggalo District, Padang City, West Sumatra. The conclusions of the study are as follows: 1) The education quality policy at SMPN 22 Padang refers to the eight National Education Standards, focusing on three National Education Standards, namely the Process Standard, Graduate Competency Standards and Facilities and Infrastructure Standards. 2) The steps in educational quality assurance consist of five stages: Quality Mapping, Preparation of Fulfillment Plans, Quality Implementation, Quality Evaluation, and Standard Setting.

Abstract

Objective: One problem of teachers’ work discipline is tardiness and irregular performance reporting, indicating the need for a technology-based monitoring system. This study aims to analyze teachers’ discipline, examine the implementation of SIKAP, and its effect. A quantitative survey method was used. The results show that SIKAP implementation significantly affects teachers’ work discipline. The novelty lies in using SIKAP as a technology-based monitoring system in elementary schools. Methods: This research used a quantitative approach with a positivist paradigm. The population was 288 civil servant teachers, with 174 respondents selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics, including validity, reliability, normality, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R²). Results: The results show that teacher work discipline is in the good category, while SIKAP implementation is fairly good to good. Hypothesis testing indicates that SIKAP has a significant effect on teacher discipline (sig. 0.000 < 0.05), with an R² value of 0.718, meaning 71.8% of discipline is influenced by SIKAP implementation. Novelty: This study emphasizes the importance of digital performance management systems in improving teacher discipline by linking technology implementation with behavioral outcomes in education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran kepemimpinan transformasional dalam pengawasan pendidikan berbasis penjaminan mutu untuk mendukung pencapaian Quality Education (SDGs 4) pada SMP Negeri 7 Kota Padang. Penelitian ini menjadi penting karena masih terdapat kesenjangan antara pelaksanaan pengawasan pendidikan yang cenderung administratif dengan tuntutan penjaminan mutu yang berorientasi pada peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran secara berkelanjutan, serta masih terbatasnya kajian yang mengintegrasikan kepemimpinan transformasional, supervisi akademik, dan penjaminan mutu dalam satu kerangka yang utuh di tingkat satuan pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap 15 informan yang terdiri atas kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru, pengawas sekolah, dan tim penjaminan mutu internal sekolah. Analisis data dilakukan secara interaktif melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional berperan dalam empat aspek utama, yaitu membangun visi mutu yang berorientasi SDGs 4, mentransformasi pengawasan menjadi proses reflektif dan kolaboratif, meningkatkan profesionalisme dan motivasi guru, serta mendorong terbentuknya budaya mutu di sekolah. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pengawasan pendidikan yang efektif tidak cukup hanya bersifat administratif, tetapi perlu diarahkan sebagai proses pembinaan profesional, berbasis data, dan berorientasi pada perbaikan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional menjadi faktor strategis dalam mengintegrasikan pengawasan pendidikan dan penjaminan mutu guna mendukung terwujudnya pendidikan yang inklusif, adil, dan bermutu sesuai dengan agenda SDGs 4.

Abstract

Objective: To analyze the level of teachers' work motivation after the COVID-19 pandemic in vocational high schools in East Padang and to examine its implications for improving educational quality. The findings are expected to provide evidence-based recommendations for strengthening teacher motivation as an essential component in achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education. Method: A descriptive quantitative research design. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire distributed to teachers at vocational high schools in East Padang. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques to determine the level of teachers' work motivation based on several motivational indicators.  Results:  The findings indicate that the overall level of teachers' work motivation reached an achievement score of 78%, which falls within the fairly high category. Responsibility, perseverance, independence, and work enthusiasm contributed positively to teachers' motivation; however, several aspects still require improvement. The study also highlights the important role of school principals in enhancing teachers' motivation through supportive leadership, adequate facilities, and appropriate incentive systems. Strengthening teachers' motivation is expected to improve teaching quality and student learning outcomes, thereby supporting the realization of inclusive and quality education. Novelty: The study provides recent empirical evidence regarding teachers' work motivation in the post-COVID-19 educational context at vocational high schools in Indonesia. Unlike previous studies that primarily examined teacher motivation before or during the pandemic, this research specifically focuses on post-pandemic conditions and emphasizes the importance of school leadership in sustaining teacher motivation. Furthermore, the study links teacher motivation with the achievement of SDG 4, highlighting its contribution to improving educational quality and promoting sustainable educational development.

Abstract

Kurangnya bahan ajar mandiri dalam pembelajaran membuat belum optimalnya hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan panduan pembelajaran penggunaan Mastercam serta mengetahui kelayakan media panduan dan keefektifan penggunaan media panduan pada mata pelajaran NC/CNC dan CAM. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) yang mengacu pada model pengembangan Borg and Gall. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh pada tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Tahap pengembangan panduan penggunaan Mastercam meliputi: Tahap pengukuran kebutuhan dan studi literature, Tahap perencanaan pengembangan produk, tahap pengembangan draft produk dengan mengujikan kepada ahli materi dan ahli media, tahap uji coba, tahap revisi hasil uji coba, tahap uji efektivitas produk dan penyempurnaan produk akhir. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan angket (kuesioner) dan soal (pretest-posttest). Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan dengan deskriptif kuantitatif dan membandingkan hasil uji pretest sebelum diterapkan panduan pembelajaran dan posttest setelah diterapkan panduan pembelajaran pada kelas XII TPM 1. Hasil penelitian ini adalah media pembelajaran berupa panduan penggunaan Mastercam untuk mata pelajaran NC/CNC dan CAM. Media panduan pembelajaran secara keseluruhan dinyatakan layak untuk digunakan sebagai bahan ajar mandiri bagi siswa, atas dasar penilaian dari ahli materi, guru mata pelajaran, ahli media, hasil uji coba I dan uji coba II secara keseluruhan mendapatkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 4,42 dengan kriteria sangat baik. Uji efektivitas panduan pembelajaran ini memperoleh nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 84,167 yang lebih tinggi dari nilai rata-rata pretest yaitu sebesar 57,976. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa media panduan penggunaan Mastercam efektif digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Pandemi yang terjadi pada saat sekarang ini menyebabkan terganggunya sektor pendidikan, tidak hanya di Indonesia tetapi juga seluruh belahan dunia. Sehingga Dinas Pendidikan Negara mengubah system pembelajaran yang awalnya secara tatap muka menjadi system pembelajaran Online. Penelitian ini, bermaksud agar dapat membantu tenaga pendidik untuk mengatasi sulitnya mencapai hasil yang maksimal dalam proses mengajar secara online pada saat pandemi ini. Metode yang diterapkan pada penelitian ini adalah pengembangan bahan ajar mata diklat bubut menjadi Video Tutorialmodel pembelajaran Hybrid Learning di SMK Negeri 1 Padang. Model Pembelajaran Hybrid Learning merupakan model pembelajaran yang dirancang dengan cara memadukan antara pembelajaran tatap muka dengan pembelajaran online yang menggunakan teknologi komputer dan internet. Pengembangan bahan ajar menjadi Video Tutorial pada penelitian ini mengikuti model pembelajaran ADDIE dengan tahapan analisis, desain, development, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu data kuantitatif dan kualitatif, dengan menggunakan instrument penelitian berupa angket/kuisioner yang didapat dari dua orang dosen Teknik Mesin sebagai ahli materi dan ahli media, satu orang guru mata diklat bubut SMK Negeri 1 dan 72 orang siswa. Hasil dari penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu uji validitas dari ahli materi diperoleh persentase skor 86% dan dari ahli media diperoleh persentase skor 96%, sedangkan uji praktisitas dari guru mata pelajaran diperoleh persentase skor 86% dan dari peserta didik diperoleh persentase skor 88%. Dari hasil penelitian yang didapatkan dari pengembangan bahan ajar menjadi Video Tutorial sangat layak untuk digunakan pada mata diklat bubut di SMK Negeri 1 Padang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan mengenai diterapkannya model Blended Learning di mata pelajaran Pekerjaan Dasar Teknik Mesin (PDTM) untuk meningkatkan kreativitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Karena selama pengamatan peneliti semasa PLK di SMK 2 Sawahlunto, pembelajaran cenderung kaku dan kurangnya variasi dalam model pembelajaran. Metode yang dipakai yakni Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK)). Pelaksanaan penelitian ini berpusat kepada penerapan model Blended Learning pada kelas X Teknik Pemesinan 3 di SMK Negeri 2 Sawahlunto dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 27 siswa. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, persentase kreativitas belajar siswa pada siklus I sebesar 60,03%, meningkat di siklus0II menjadi 80,2% dengan kategori tercapai. Peningkatan hasil belajar juga terjadi peningkatan, siklus I klasikal yang didapat ialah 66,6%, dan pada siklus II meningkat sebesar 84,3% yang dikategorikan tercapai. Dilihat dari hasil pengamatan yang dilakukan sebelum tindakan, permasalahan yang ditemukan sesuai dengan pengamatan peneliti ketika PLK kurangnya minat belajar dan hasil belajar siswa yang belum tercapai KKM, untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut peneliti mencoba pengenalan model pembelajaran Blended Learning. Dengan harapan bisa dijadikan acuan dalam meningkatkan kreativitas dan hasil belajar untuk mata pelajaran Pekerjaan Dasar Teknik Mesin (PDTM) di kelas X Teknik Pemesinan 3 SMK Negeri 2 Sawahlunto. Sehingga diartikan dengan menerapkanomodel pembelajaran Blended Learning dapat meningkatkan kreativitas dan hasil belajar siswa.
