Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of Pancasila values in science learning in elementary schools by applying Bruce and Weil's learning model, especially the Social Interaction Model, which emphasizes the importance of cooperation and discussion. The research was conducted on grade IV students at SDN 19 Kampung Baru Kota Pariaman using the experimental method and Static Group Comparison design. Two groups were involved: an experimental class that applied the Bruce and Weil model, and a control class that used the conventional lecture method. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and analyzed statistically. The results showed that the application of the Bruce and Weil model had a significant effect on improving the understanding of Pancasila values. The average posttest score of the experimental class was 85, while the control class reached 70. Hypothesis testing resulted in a tcount of 22.70, greater than the ttable of 1.68 at the 0.05 significance level, so the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Bruce and Weil's model proved effective in improving the understanding of Pancasila values through active participation of students in science learning. This model is recommended as an effective alternative to integrate Pancasila values in science learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain preliminary information in the development of bingo-based learning media for fifth-grade elementary school students. The bingo game media is designed to provide facilities for civic education (PPKn) learning, aiming to assist students in comprehending PPKn materials and enhancing their self-confidence in the learning process. The development of bingo game media employs the Research and Development (RD) method, and this study is currently in the needs analysis stage. Data collection for needs analysis is conducted through interviews with class teachers and the distribution of questionnaires to students. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that there are challenges in delivering PPKn materials that involve application, necessitating the use of learning media to boost students' self-confidence in visualizing the materials with the assistance of the bingo game. This conclusion is based on student questionnaire analysis, which indicates that: 1) Students feel confident and actively participate when learning processes involve game-based media. 2) The implementation of learning becomes more enjoyable when utilizing the bingo game.

Abstract

The Pancasila is five life principals of Indonesian and it has been crafted from the ancestor. The Indonesian independence fighters had been trying to create the Pancasila and now it is officially the Indonesian life principals. As the teachers, the Pancasila are compulsory to be taught and delivered to the schools in all levels including elementary schools. One of the main issues among teachers across Indonesia is that it is difficult to transfer Pancasila values to the students because it is considered to be character and it needs a habit to measure how student understand about the values. The aim of this study is to provide a teaching method for elementary school students when learning Pancasila values through the storybook. The values of Pancasila is closely related to the moral of Indonesian. The method used in this research is mix method with Research and Development (R&D) approach and also using ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) model. This model is designed to create a new learning model for delivering Pancasila values to the students. The data has been collected from 30 students, and one elementary school teachers. The techniques used is questionnaires, interview, and classroom observation. The finding shows that the storybook is effectively used to transform the knowledge of Pancasila values to the students and one of the book called “sahabat toleransi” or a tolerance friends shows that having a friends can be part of Pancasila values. Therefore, it can be concluded that Pancasila values can be taught through some other ways and the picture storybook can be an option for the teachers to teach about it.

Abstract

The Independent Curriculum is a development of the K13 curriculum that focuses on developing students' talents, potentials, and interests by digitizing learning with technology. This curriculum begins the Society 5.0 era, where technology dominates. The Independent Curriculum consists of four schools of educational philosophy, each of which has a different way of building a curriculum. One of them is the Reconstructionist philosophy. To find out what dominates the philosophy of education, the development of the independent curriculum must be reviewed from a Reconstructionist perspective. This will make it possible to determine the basis of the curriculum and its results. A qualitative method was used in this study. The primary source of this study came from scientific literature, while secondary sources came from supporting sources such as essays, papers, and interview results with teachers. The results of the study show that reconstructionism is an important component in changing the SDIT Irsyadul Ibad curriculum to the Independent Curriculum. Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to investigate how teacher leadership, through the Teacher Mover program, influences educational outcomes in elementary schools. The study seeks to understand the relationships between teacher leadership, professional development, school culture, emotional intelligence, and student-centered leadership, and how these factors collectively contribute to improved student performance and engagement. Novelty: This study contributes to the existing literature by providing a comprehensive analysis of the Teacher Mover program, a leadership initiative unique to the Indonesian educational context. It offers new insights into how emotional intelligence and professional development mediate the effects of teacher leadership on school culture and student outcomes, which are often underexplored in similar educational leadership studies. Research Methods: This qualitative study used in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis to collect data from Teacher Movers, principals, and teachers at selected elementary schools. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis, with NVivo software used to organize emerging patterns. Results: The findings indicate that teacher leadership significantly improves educational outcomes by fostering a collaborative school culture, enhancing teacher efficacy through professional development, and promoting student-centered approaches. Emotional intelligence was found to be crucial in navigating leadership challenges and fostering positive relationships. Research Contributions: This research offers practical recommendations for educational leaders by highlighting the importance of teacher leadership, professional development, and emotional intelligence in school improvement. It also contributes to the growing body of literature on distributed leadership and its positive impact on educational outcomes.

Abstract

Phenomenon/Issue: The integration of local cultural values in primary education, known as ethnopedagogy, faces challenges in effectively engaging students while preserving cultural identity and promoting character development. Purpose: This study aims to explore the impact of the ethnopedagogical approach on student engagement, cultural awareness, and character development in primary schools. Novelty: This research highlights the effectiveness of ethnopedagogy in fostering cultural identity and moral values among young learners, providing new insights into how local wisdom can be systematically integrated into formal education. Research Methods: The study employed a qualitative approach, using interviews with teachers, classroom observations, and document analysis to gather data on how ethnopedagogical practices are implemented in primary schools. Results: Findings show that the ethnopedagogical approach significantly enhances student engagement, strengthens cultural identity, and fosters positive character traits such as cooperation, respect, and tolerance. Despite these benefits, challenges remain, particularly in terms of teacher training and resource availability. The study underscores the importance of supporting ethnopedagogical practices to achieve more effective and meaningful education outcomes. Research Contributions: This study contributes to the literature by emphasizing the need for equitable resource distribution and comprehensive teacher training. It offers recommendations for policy reforms that can enhance the implementation of multicultural education, particularly in under-resourced regions, to promote inclusivity and social cohesion.
