Abstract

This study aims to describe the enhancement of elementary school students’ creative thinking skills through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in Civic Education (PPKn) learning. The method used in this research is a literature review, examining various sources such as national journals, scientific articles, and relevant books. The results of the review indicate that the PjBL model is effective in developing students' creative thinking abilities, as it actively engages them in designing, executing, and reflecting on meaningful and contextual projects. In the context of Civic Education, this model encourages students to explore values such as nationalism, democracy, and social responsibility through real-life, collaborative activities. The characteristics of PjBL, which emphasize problem-solving, innovation, and product presentation, align with indicators of creative thinking such as fluency, flexibility, elaboration, and originality. Therefore, the implementation of Project Based Learning has the potential to be an alternative learning strategy that optimizes the development of creative thinking skills in Civic Education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Abstract

The alpha generation is another term for children born in 2010 to 2025. The alpha generation is closely related to the use of technology products, especially gadgets. Therefore, this generation is also called the digital generation. Technology offers many benefits to humans, but technology can also create opportunities for students to exhibit deviant behavior. This is a special concern for teachers because it can affect the development and change of student behavior, especially basic education students. Therefore, teachers need to know what challenges and strategies can be applied in dealing with students from the alpha generation. Therefore, this study aims to identify challenges and strategies that can be applied by teachers in dealing with this generation of students based on behavioristic theory. This research is qualitative research with the method used is a literature study. Data is obtained from journals, articles, books and other documentation related to this topic. Based on the analysis of the results of the literature study, it was found that the challenges faced by teachers are related to mastery of technology and teachers' creativity in creating innovative and differentiated learning and becoming inspiring mentors for students. With this research, it is hoped that it can be knowledge for teachers in dealing with students at school based on its characteristics. So that the learning process and knowledge transfer can run well and achieve national education goals.

Abstract

Background: The lack of science inquiry literacy among elementary school teachers is a crucial issue affecting the quality of science education. This condition is caused by various factors, including low teacher LIS competency, inadequate facilities, and a lack of learning media that support inquiry learning for students' diverse learning styles. To address this, training is needed that can provide teachers with opportunities to design inquiry learning based on students' learning styles.Aims and Method: This community services program aimed to enhance teachers' Scientific Inquiry Literacy (SIL) through the dissemination of SIDILAN using the Interactive Lecture Demonstration method. Results: The pre-posttest results showed a high average N-Gain (0.76), categorized as High. 13 teachers who were drilled using the SIDILAN application in their lessons experienced an increase in SIL knowledge, categorized as High. Two teachers also experienced an increase in SIL knowledge, categorized as Medium. .  There has been an increase in teachers' knowledge about SIL, student learning styles, the relationship between SIL and learning styles, and scientific inquiry learning designs that facilitate various student learning styles. Teachers reported SIDILAN as user-friendly, effective in identifying student learning styles, useful for instructional planning. and improving inquiry skills so that they could achieve science with good inquiry.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of cultural literacy within the elementary school curriculum through an analysis of empirical and conceptual literature published between 2020 and 2025. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach guided by PRISMA 2020, nine primary studies were analyzed to identify patterns, challenges, and opportunities in implementing cultural literacy in basic education. The reviewed studies most prominently addressed local cultural knowledge, cultural identity, and intercultural communication, with digital storybooks, VR/AR-based learning, and project-based field experiences emerging as the most effective strategies for enhancing students’ cultural understanding, engagement, and reading literacy. In contrast, limitations such as unequal technological access, varying levels of teacher competence, and inconsistent availability of culturally relevant learning materials were identified as key barriers. Conceptually, cultural literacy was consistently framed through cognitive, affective, and social dimensions aligned with the Pancasila Student Profile. The study concludes that integrating cultural literacy into the curriculum offers strong pedagogical value and recommends strengthening teacher capacity, expanding digital and print cultural resources, and conducting cross-regional research to build more generalizable evidence for policy development.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of Pancasila values in science learning in elementary schools by applying Bruce and Weil's learning model, especially the Social Interaction Model, which emphasizes the importance of cooperation and discussion. The research was conducted on grade IV students at SDN 19 Kampung Baru Kota Pariaman using the experimental method and Static Group Comparison design. Two groups were involved: an experimental class that applied the Bruce and Weil model, and a control class that used the conventional lecture method. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and analyzed statistically. The results showed that the application of the Bruce and Weil model had a significant effect on improving the understanding of Pancasila values. The average posttest score of the experimental class was 85, while the control class reached 70. Hypothesis testing resulted in a tcount of 22.70, greater than the ttable of 1.68 at the 0.05 significance level, so the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Bruce and Weil's model proved effective in improving the understanding of Pancasila values through active participation of students in science learning. This model is recommended as an effective alternative to integrate Pancasila values in science learning in elementary schools.
