Abstract

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that requires long-term management and can impact a patient's quality of life physically, psychologically, socially, and environmentally. Successful disease management is determined not only by patient adherence to treatment but also by family support, the primary support system that helps patients maintain self-care, maintain blood sugar control, and improve well-being. Purpose: To determine the relationship between family support and quality of life in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Method: This study used a quantitative method with a correlational cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 87 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using the Hensarling Diabetes Family Support Scale (HDFSS) questionnaire to measure family support and the Diabetes Quality of Life (DQOL) to measure quality of life. Data analysis used the Spearman Rank test. Results: The majority of respondents reported high family support and good quality of life (81.6%, respectively). There is a significant relationship between family support and quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (p = 0.000) and a correlation coefficient of 0.923, indicating a very strong positive relationship. Conclusion: Family support plays a crucial role in improving the quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.   Keywords: Family Support; Outpatients; Quality of Life; Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.   Pendahuluan: Diabetes Melitus tipe 2 merupakan penyakit kronis yang memerlukan pengelolaan jangka panjang dan dapat memengaruhi kualitas hidup pasien secara fisik, psikologis, sosial, dan lingkungan. Keberhasilan pengelolaan penyakit tidak hanya ditentukan oleh kepatuhan pasien terhadap pengobatan, tetapi juga oleh dukungan keluarga sebagai sistem pendukung utama dalam membantu pasien menjalani perawatan diri, menjaga kontrol gula darah, serta meningkatkan kesejahteraan hidup. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubungan dukungan keluarga dengan kualitas hidup pasien Diabetes Melitus tipe 2. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 87 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner Hensarling Diabetes Family Support Scale (HDFSS) untuk mengukur dukungan keluarga dan Diabetes Quality of Life (DQOL) untuk mengukur kualitas hidup. Analisis data menggunakan uji Spearman Rank. Hasil: Sebagian besar responden memiliki dukungan keluarga tinggi dan kualitas hidup baik masing-masing sebesar 81.6%. Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara dukungan keluarga dengan kualitas hidup pasien Diabetes Melitus tipe 2 dengan nilai p = 0.000 dan koefisien korelasi 0.923 yang menunjukkan hubungan positif sangat kuat. Simpulan: Dukungan keluarga memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien Diabetes Melitus tipe 2.   Kata Kunci: Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2; Dukungan Keluarga; Kualitas Hidup; Pasien Rawat Jalan.

Abstract

The purpose of research and development of pencak silat calisthenics training model for adolescents uses research method of Research & Development (R & D) from Borg and Gall. The subjects in this research and development are teenage athletes PPLP Riau Province, University of Pencak Silat Walet Puti Riau Province, University of Pencak Silat Tapak Suci Pekanbaru and Pencak Silat University of Kumango Riau Province. The test of model effectiveness uses test instrument to collect data of pencak silat athlete abilities. Analysis of research data uses the test of independent samples t-test with significance level of 0.05. Data analysis is obtained the average value of speed endurance training given the model of pencak silat calisthenics exercises in the experimental group is 478.94 and there are differences in results with the control group by the treatment with the common practice 431,23 test of difference significance with SPSS 17 gained result of t-count 2,396, df = 60 and p-value = 0.020 < 0.05. Based on the information, it can be concluded that the model of pencak silat calisthenics training for pencak silat athletes uses hand attacks developed and can be applied effectively and efficiently so it can improve the ability of pencak silat athletes.

Abstract

This study were aimed to analyze: (1) the difference influence of interval and fartlek training method toward the result ability of Kayak paddle at the distance of 1000 meter, (2) interaction between training and concentration method toward the ability of paddle at the distance of 1000 meter, and (3) difference influence of high concentration trained by interval and fartlek training method toward the result ability of kayak paddle at the distance of 1000 meter, (4) difference influence of low concentration trained by interval and fartlek training method toward the result ability of kayak paddle at the distance of 1000 meter. This experiment research used 2 x 2 treatment design . The subjects in this study were Kayak paddle athletes of Maluku Province which concsist of 42 people. The techniques of data analysis used was ANAVA.The results of this study are: (1) overall there are significant differences between the interval training method and the fartlek training method on the results of the ability to row 1000 meters in rowing athletes like Maluku. , (2) there is an interaction between the training methods used with concentration on the results of the ability to row 1000 meters in rowing athletes like Maluku. Conclusions: (1) interval training method is better than fartlek training method on the ability to row 1000 meters distance, (2) athletes with high concentration and trained with interval and fartlek training methods are better compared with low concentration athletes who are trained with interval training methods and fartlek.

Abstract

Introduction: The evaluation of changes in RALE scores on chest radiography and increased D-Dimer values of COVID-19 patients can be prognosticators of severity in the progressive phase and risk of ARDS. This study aims to determine the relationship between Rale scores and mortality of COVID-19 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at RSUD Dr. Moewardi.Methods: This research is an analytical observational study with a cross sectional approach was conducted on COVID-19 patients who had undergone a chest radiography and a D-Dimer examination at RSUD Dr. Moewardi in the period May 2021 to July 2021.Results: This research included of 126 patients with 109 (87%) have died and 17 (13%) lived. Increased RALE and D-Dimer scores were associated with mortality of COVID-19 patients in the ICU while gender (p=0.416), age (p=0.336), diabetes mellitus (DM) (p=0.852), and hypertension (p=0.464) did not have a significant relationship with the outcome of COVID-19 patients admitted to the ICU with p>0.05. The RALE score has an OR = 7.566 (95% CI = 2.117-27.043) which means that the increase in the RALE score is 7.566 times greater for the death outcome than the RALE score which remains or decreases. The D-Dimer got an OR value of 3,679 (95% CI=1.169-11,576) which means that D-Dimer >2000 has a 3.655 times greater risk of death than D-Dimer <2000 in COVID-19 patients treated in the ICU.Conclusion: There is a relationship between changes in RALE and D-Dimer scores with the mortality rate of COVID-19 patients in the ICU of RSUD Dr. Moewardi. Future research is expected to analyze other factors that have the potential to bias the results of the study such as changes in D-Dimer values, sociodemographic factors, clinical conditions and medical history in research subjects.
