Abstract

The majority of Walisongo came from abroad. The background of their arrival in Java gave rise to polemics. The first opinion states that they went to Java by chance. Second opinion is based on information from Kanzul Ulum that they went to Java because they were recruited by the Ottoman government. This research uses the Philosophy of History method, which combines the empirical scientific paradigm and the speculative philosophical paradigm. The results of this research show that both opinions can be linked to cyclical patterns. The difference is that the first opinion tends to be the same as Augustine's version of the Fatum Law, which focuses on the afterlife. Meanwhile, the second opinion tends to be the same as Ibn Khaldun's version of the Fatum Law, which is not only related to the afterlife but also the process of educating humans who fight for their society. The driving factors that give rise to these two opinions can also be related to the hadith that motivate Muslims to preach. If the meaning is linked to Augustine's Fatum Law, then there is no need for recruitment because anyone must be ready to implement it. However, if it is related to Ibn Khaldun's Fatum Law, recruitment is significant in preparing better human resources than before. The ultimate goal of the historical process is its synthesis. The conclusion is that these two opinions are complementary and interrelated because both are part of the cyclical pattern of the spread of Islam in Java since the 13th century. First speculation focuses on the spread of Islam during the Walisongo period in the 15th-16th century, while the second speculation discusses the Walisongo recruitment plan, which has started since the 14th century.

Abstract

Economic development in urban areas indirectly changes the function of residential areas into commercial areas. Along with the development of the function of the Gajah Mada area, the threat of decreasing the visual quality of Jalan Gajah Mada as an artifact of the corridors of the Denpasar Old Town area naturally cannot be avoided. The need for increased trading space, high building density, development of economic functions that are more commercial in nature due to the demands of profit and modernization as well as a slum environment can also eliminate the visual character of the physical corridor of Jalan Gajah Mada which still retains the characteristics of Balinese architecture and the image of Kota Tua because Therefore, it is necessary to study the visual characteristics of the physical corridors of Jalan Gajah Mada so that directions regarding the arrangement should be considered in accommodating changes in the physical corridors so that they remain visually aligned. This research method is a type of descriptive research using qualitative methods. Descriptive research is a research that aims to provide a systematic, factual, accurate description of the facts and characteristics of the population so that it can produce the physical characteristics of the Jalan Gajah Mada corridor as seen from the path elements, architectural patterns and street trees that surround the corridor.

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: This study aims to develop a training model for ura mawashi geri kicking skills specifically designed for karateka aged 13-15 years. Objectives: The research background is motivated by the low effectiveness of ura mawashi geri kicks in karate competitions, despite this technique having high strategic value in martial arts performance. Method: The research methodology employed Research & Development approach using the ADDIE model, conducted at GOR Kelapa Gading, DKI Jakarta, during June-July 2025. The research subjects consisted of 30 karate athletes aged 13-15 years selected through purposive sampling technique with specific inclusion criteria including minimum 2 years karate training experience and absence of injury. The research instrument utilized validated ura mawashi geri kicking skill tests that had been evaluated and approved by martial arts experts. Data analysis employed both qualitative and quantitative approaches, with statistical significance testing conducted using paired-samples t-test and descriptive statistics for central tendencies analysis. Result: The research results demonstrated significant improvement from the pre-test average score of 76.00 to 89.06 in the post-test following the implementation of 15 specialized training models over 8 training sessions. Conclusion: The developed training model proved to be feasible and effective for enhancing ura mawashi geri kicking skills among karateka aged 13-15 years, providing valuable insights for martial arts training methodologies and competitive performance improvement.

Abstract

Microteaching serves as a scaled-down teaching practice platform designed to hone fundamental instructional skills among preservice primary teachers. Delivering physical education at the primary level demands specialized competencies distinct from other subjects, given its inherent movement-based nature and outdoor implementation requirements. This study examines the readiness of preservice primary teachers to teach physical education through microteaching activities. Employing a quantitative descriptive approach, we analyzed physical education microteaching assessment data from 28 preservice primary teachers (February-May 2025), evaluating eight core teaching competencies. Results revealed a tripartite competency distribution: High Achievers (16 students): Demonstrated comprehensive mastery of essential microteaching skills, including creative lesson delivery and adaptive classroom management. Intermediate Performers (10 students): Exhibited foundational competence but required refinement in questioning techniques, time management, and instructional transitions. Developing Practitioners (2 students): Showed significant gaps in lesson preparation and teaching confidence, necessitating targeted intervention. The findings underscore two critical implications for teacher preparation: First, most candidates achieved teaching readiness through structured microteaching experiences, validating its efficacy in skill development. Second, the identified competency gaps—particularly in pedagogical content knowledge and self-efficacy-highlight the need for differentiated training approaches. This research emphasizes the indispensable role of microteaching in equipping future elementary teachers with the unique skill set required for effective physical education instruction
