Abstract

ABSTRACTAbelmoschus manihot (L.) Medik. (A. manihot) is a medicinal plant that contains forms of flavones, flavonols, isoflavones, anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins. This research was conducted to determine the optimum concentration, pH and temperature variables for anthocyanins in A. manihot leaves. The sample was extracted by using 1:10 methanol solvent maceration method using two methanol solvent systems with different acidifiers, namely HCl and Citric Acid. The results obtained on the optimization of concentration, pH and temperature on anthocyanin compounds showed mixed results with stable absorbance values in the range 0.2 - 0.8 for certain variables. Keywords: anthocyanin, Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui variable konsentrasi, pH dan suhu optimum terhadap antosianin pada daun A. manihot. Sampel diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi pelarut metanol 1:10 menggunakan dua sistem pelarut Metanol dengan pengasam berbeda yaitu HCl dan Asam Sitrat. Hasil yang didapat pada optimasi konsentrasi, pH dan suhu pada senyawa antosianin menunjukkan hasil yang beragam dengan nilai absorbansi yang stabil pada kisaran 0,2 – 0,8 pada variabel tertentu. Kata kunci: antosianin, Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Abstract

ABSTRACTBlackboard tree (Alstonia scholaris (L.) R. Br) is a type of forest wood that is often used by the people of North Sulawesi for the treatment of various diseases including malaria. According to previous in vitro studies, the extract of Blackboard tree bark had a high inhibitory value against Plasmodium falciparum. This study aims to determine the bioactive compounds extracted from Blackboard tree bark and to analyze their potential for the enzymes Dihydroorotat Dehydrogenase, Enoyl Acyl Carrier Protein Reductase and Dihydrofolate Reductase with molecular docking. The dry powder extract of Blackboard tree bark was dissolved using ethanol and chloroform by maceration process then analyzed using GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer) to determine the content of the compounds in the Blackboard tree bark extract. The analysis results obtained that there are probably 9 compounds in the ethanol extract and 60 compounds in the chloroform extract of Blackboard tree barkKeywords : Alstonia scholaris, Antimalaria, GC-MS, Molecular Docking ABSTRAKKayu Telor (Alstonia scholaris (L.) R. Br) merupakan jenis kayu hutan yang sering digunakan masyarakat Sulawesi Utara untuk pengobatan berbagai penyakit termasuk malaria. Menurut penelitian yang dilakukan secara in vitro sebelumnya, ekstrak kulit batang kayu Telor memiliki nilai penghambatan yang tinggi terhadap Plasmodium falciparum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui senyawa-senyawa bioaktif yang diekstrak dari kulit batang kayu Telor dan menganalisis potensinya terhadap enzim Dihidroorotat Dehidrogenase, Enoyl Acyl Carrier Protein Reductase dan Dihidrofolat Reduktase dengan penambatan molekuler. Ekstrak serbuk kering kulit batang kayu Telor dilarutkan menggunakan etanol dan klorofom dengan proses maserasi kemudian dianalisis menggunakan GC-MS (Gas Cromatography-Mass Spectrometer) untuk mengetahui kandungan senyawa dalam ekstrak kulit batang kayu Telor. Hasil analisis yang diperoleh terdapat kemungkinan 9 senyawa pada ekstrak etanol dan 60 senyawa pada ekstrak kloroform kulit batang kayu Telor.Kata Kunci : Alstonia scholaris, Antimalaria, GC-MS, Penambatan Molekuler

Abstract

ABSTRACTBreast cancer is a malignant tumor that can attack the breast tissue which consists of the mammary glands, mammary gland ducts, and the supporting tissues of the breast. Breast cancer develops from normal cells that undergo proliferative changes. Breast cancer is a type of cancer with the greatest prevalence in women in Indonesia. Estrogen receptor alpha (ER-α), estrogen beta (ER-β) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2) induced by the hormone estrogen will activate genes that play a role in the growth of breast cancer cells. This study aims to determine the potential results of the interaction of the molecular bonding of clove eugenol compounds to the receptor target in breast cancer. The method used is molecular docking using Autodock Vina software. The results showed that eugenol compounds can interact with ER-α, ER-β, and HER-2 and have the potential as breast anticancer with the best binding affinity based on the observed RMSD value. Keywords: ER-α, ER-β, HER-2, Eugenol, docking  ABSTRAKKanker payudara adalah tumor ganas yang dapat menyerang jaringan payudara yang terdiri dari kelenjar susu, saluran kelenjar susu, dan jaringan penunjang payudara. Kanker payudara berkembang dari sel normal yang mengalami perubahan proliferatif. Kanker payudara adalah jenis kanker dengan prevelensi terbesar pada wanita di Indonesia. Reseptor estrogen alfa (ER-α), estrogen beta (ER-β) dan reseptor faktor pertumbuhan manusia-2 (HER-2) yang diinduksi oleh hormon estrogen akan mengaktifkan gen-gen yang berperan dalam pertumbuhan sel kanker payudara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi hasil interaksi penambatan molekuler senyawa eugenol cengkeh terhadap target reseptor pada kanker payudara. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penambatan molekuler docking menggunakan perangkat lunak Autodock Vina. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa senyawa eugenol dapat berinteraksi dengan ER-α, ER-β, dan HER-2 dan berpotensi sebagai antikanker payudara dengan binding affinity terbaik didasarkan pada nilai RMSD yang dilihat. Kata kunci: ER-α, ER-β, HER-2, Eugenol, docking

Abstract

ABSTRACTNut grass (Cyperus rotundus L.) is a perennial weed which the tuber is used traditionally in treating several ailments. This study aimed to identify the phytochemical compounds from nut grass tuber. Extraction was carried out by maceration using n-hexane as solvent and then were analyzed with Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The result showed that there were 48 peaks with 144 probable compounds detected in n-hexane extract of nut grass tuber. 7-Isopropenyl-1,4a-dimethyl-4,4a,5,6,7,8-hexahydro-3H-naphthalen-2-one; 1(2H)-Naphthalenone, 3,4,4a,5,6,7-hexahydro-4a,5-dimethyl-3-(1-methylethenyl)-, [3S-(3a,4aa,5a)]-; and 1,7-Dimethyl-4-(propan-2-ylidene)tricyclo[4.4.0.02,7]decan-3-one had the highest concentrations namely 43,92% in the extract. This study concluded that the compounds were classified as sesquiterpenoids which had various biological activities. Keywords: N-hexane extract, GC-MS, chemical compounds, Nut Grass (Cyperus rotundus L.).  ABSTRAKRumput teki (Cyperus rotundus L.) adalah gulma perenial yang umbinya dimanfaatkan secara tradisional oleh masyarakat untuk mengobati beberapa jenis penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi senyawa-senyawa fitokimia dari umbi rumput teki.  Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut n-heksana dan kemudian dilanjutkan dengan analisis Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat 48 peak dengan 144 kemungkinan komponen senyawa yang terdeteksi dalam ekstrak n-heksana umbi rumput teki. Senyawa 7-Isopropenyl-1,4a-dimethyl-4,4a,5,6,7,8-hexahydro-3H-naphthalen-2-one; 1(2H)-Naphthalenone, 3,4,4a,5,6,7-hexahydro-4a,5-dimethyl-3-(1-methylethenyl)-, [3S-(3a,4aa,5a)]-; dan 1,7-Dimethyl-4-(propan-2-ylidene)tricyclo[4.4.0.02,7]decan-3-one memiliki persentase kadar tertinggi yaitu 43,92% dalam ekstrak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa senyawa-senyawa ini termasuk dalam golongan seskuiterpenoid yang memiliki aktivitas biologis yang beragam. Kata Kunci: Ekstrak n-heksana, GC-MS, komponen senyawa, Rumput Teki (Cyperus rotundus L.)

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine acute toxicity potency of mangosteen pericarp extract using Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BST). This research was an experimental research using Post Test Only Control Group Design, using 250 larvaes as test subject which were divided into 5 groups. Each group contains 10 larvaes and each group was done by 5 replications. The test componen was mangosteen pericarp extract that given through the media which contains larvae as the animal test. The extract final concentration in media which contains larvae were 1000, 500, 200, 100 and 0 ppm as negative control. The result is against larvae that died 24 hours after component test was given. Through the data, LC 50 value of etanol extract of mangosteen rind was analyzed. The result shows that mangosteen rind extract on the media could kill larvae of Artemia salina. Prohibit analyzes shows that mangosteen extract LC50 value of mangosteen pericarp extract was 418 ppm. So the administering of rind extract of mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) had acute toxicity potential against Artemia salina Leach larvae according to BST method.   Keywords : Garcinia mangostana L. pericarp, brine shrimp lethality test, acute toxicity

Abstract

ABSTRACT The butterfly pea flower (Clitoria ternatea L.) is a flower can grow as an ornamental plant or a wild plant with a single purple petal. This study aims to analyze the phytochemical compounds from butterfly pea flower. The method used is the extraction of dried powder of butterfly pea flowers using methanol and n-hexane solvent then analyzed using GC-MS. The analysis showed that there were 48 possible compounds detected in the methanol extract and 18 possible compounds  detected in the n-hexane extract of butterfly pea flower. The compound from the methanol extract which had the highest peak were d-Mannose, d-Glycero-d ido-heptose, and Galacto-heptulose. While the compounds from the n-hexane extract that had the highest peak were Longipinocarvone, Acetic acid, 3-hydroxy-6-isopropenyl-4,8a-dimethyl-1,2,3,5,6,7,8,8a-octahydronaphthalen-2 -yl ester, and 10-12-Pentacosadiynoic acid. Keywords         : Clitoria ternatea L, butterfly pea flower, GC-MS   ABSTRAK Bunga Telang (Clitoria ternatea L.) merupakan bunga yang dapat tumbuh sebagai tanaman hias maupun tanaman liar dengan kelopak tunggal berwarna ungu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis senyawa fitokimia dari bunga Telang. Metode yang digunakan yaitu ekstraksi serbuk kering bunga Telang menggunakan pelarut metanol dan n-heksan kemudian dianalisis menggunakan GC-MS. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 48 kemungkinan senyawa yang terdeteksi dalam ekstrak metanol dan 18 kemungkinan senyawa yang terdeteksi dalam ekstrak n-heksan bunga Telang. Senyawa dari ekstrak metanol yang memiliki puncak tertinggi yaitu d-Mannose, d-Glycero-d ido- heptose, dan Galacto-heptulose. Sedangkan senyawa dari ekstrak n-heksan yang memiliki puncak tertinggi yaitu Longipinocarvone, Acetic acid, 3-hydroxy-6-isopropenyl-4,8a-dimethyl-1,2,3,5,6,7,8,8a-octahydronaphthalen-2-yl ester, dan 10-12-Pentacosadiynoic acid.Kata kunci      : Clitoria ternatea L, kembang Telang, GC-MS

Abstract

Prescription can reduce the administrative / prevent dangerous medication errors, withadverse effects on patients by the drugs used during the management of health care. This studyis aimed to evaluate the administrative prescriptions by examining the possibility of medicationerrors by a Pediatricians at three pharmacies in the city of Manado. This is a descriptive studyconducted a retrospective review of patient prescriptions. The method of sampling took randomreceipts using the Slovin formula. 12,225 receipts was vised in the three pharmacy and found338 sheets sample of prescription from period of January to December 2011 then processed andevaluated administrative completeness. Administrative completeness prescription written by apediatrician at the Manado City Permit Practice (11.37%), Address patients (53.7%), Gender(0%), weight loss (27.5%), Age (78 , 3%), date prescription (98.4%) and to mark the R /, DoctorName, Address Doctor, Initials Doctor, Patient Name, Drug Name, Dosage, Number of Drugs,How to use a clear (100%). Abstract

ABSTRACTSchizophrenia is one of psychiatric disorders that caused by brain damage. The prevalence ofSchizophrenia patients in North Sulawesi were 2,4%. One way of Schizophrenia handling isgiving antipsychotics to prevent the symptoms. The aim of this research is to analyze the useof Antipsychotics on Schizophrenia patient which treated at Ratumbuysang Manado Hospital.This research is survey description research with data sampling by retrospective. Thisresearch were conducted to 142 medical records of patients period January 2013 to March2013 which receive Antipsychotics medication. Data were analyzed by univariate analysis(descriptive). Obtained data shows that the most single therapy of Antipsychotics isrisperidon (21,1%), and combined therapy was haloperidol and chlorpromazine (23,2%). Themost treatment category of Schizophrenia is the typical antipsychotic treatment (41,5%).Keywords : Schizophrenia, Antipsychotics, brain damage

Abstract

Chikungunya is a virus belonging to the family Togaviridae and genus Alphavirus which was first isolated in Tanzania in 1953. This virus transmission by mosquito vectors, namely Aedes aygepti and Aedes albopictus. Indonesia itself is included as the country that has the largest burden of Chikungunya in Southeast Asia. Symptoms caused by this viral infection are severe enough to cause temporary paralysis and prolonged joint pain. Chikungunya virus drugs and vaccines are not yet officially available and are licensed only in the form of symptomatic treatment that can be given to reduce symptoms. Research and development of Chikungunya virus treatment and vaccines are currently being developed to control the spread of the Chikungunya virus.

Abstract

Demam berdarah dengue (DBD) adalah penyakit menular yang ditransmisikan oleh nyamuk Aedes aegypti dan Aedes albopictusyang hidup di negara-negara tropis dan subtropis. Penyakit yang disebabkan oleh virus dengue ini terbagi atas 4 macam serotipe yaitu DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, dan DENV-4. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melakukan penelusuran data-data yang berkaitan dengan pengembangan vaksin dengue virus melalui beberapa referensi yang didapat melalui PubMed, Google scholar, Science direct, dan kumpulan jurnal lainnya. Data yang didapat kemudian dikumpulkan dan dibuat menjadi suatu tulisan yang berisi informasi tentang strategi dan  tantangan pengembangan vaksin virus dengue. Berdasarkan data-data yang didapat strategi yang dilakukan dalam menghadapi penyakit DBD adalah dilakukannya penemuan vaksin tetravalent seperti LAV, vaksin Chimera, vaksin Subunit dan vaksin DNA. Uji klinis sampai saat ini masih terus dilakukan untuk mendapatkan kandidat vaksin yang mampu memicu respon imun terhadap keempat serotipe virus dengue. Berdasarkan hal tersebut yang menjadi tantangan dalam pengembangan vaksin tetralaven adalah biaya yang besar dan dan sulitnya menemukan kandidat vaksin dapat memicu respon imun terhadap keempat serotipe tersebut.
