Abstract

Abstract

As a basic human need, the development of textiles still needs to be studied. At first, the textile dyeing process used natural dyes. However, along with the development of technology with the discovery of synthetic dyes for textiles, the use of natural dyes began to be abandoned. Natural color fabrics have many advantages, while promoting disadvantages, such as the appearance of microorganisms on the fabric. To improve the function of the fabric, the addition of antibacterial agent to the fabric is important. This study aims to investigate the optimum condition for producing natural color fabric from Terminalia Belerica’s peel with the application of TiO2 as an antibacterial agent, using the pad dry cure method. The results of the TiO2 coating process on natural dye fabrics are based on its antimicrobial activity. SEM EDX, color strength, and fabric stiffness were also characterized by its physical properties. The analysis results show that the most optimum condition for the stability of color aging was in the 2nd experiment at a concentration of TiO2 at 1%, without curing and sizing of 75%. For stiffness stability analysis, the optimum result was obtained in the third experiment, namely the concentration of TiO2 at 0.5%, with curing and without sizing of 98%. The most influential effects on the antibacterial test include aging, brightness, and stiffness, namely variable sizing with a negative effect. The results of testing antibacterial activity on natural color fabrics of jolawe fruit peel extract applied with TiO2 show that the assessment process caused the fabric to be easily contaminated by bacteria, where the inhibition zone value was 0 mm. The SEM-EDX test did not show any damage to the fabric, and there were grains or lumps on the fabric fibers due to TiO2 coating.

Abstract

Abstract

Conventional organic waste management methods often lead to environmental degradation and underutilization of valuable resources. In rural areas, such as Polaman Village, limited awareness and inefficient disposal systems exacerbate these issues, thus necessitating innovative and sustainable solutions. This study explores black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) bioconversion as a community-based solution for organic waste management, addresses environmental challenges, and promotes economic empowerment by converting waste into valuable by-products. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, beginning with baseline assessments of waste generation and existing management practices to identify community needs. Educational workshops and hands-on training sessions introduced BSFL bioconversion techniques to local stakeholders. Focus group discussions (FGDs) were conducted to facilitate dialog and collaboration between Polaman residents, the Polaman Resik Sejahtera Waste Bank, and Universitas Diponegoro. Continuous mentoring and pilot trials were conducted to ensure proper adoption and to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed system. The results reveal that BSFL bioconversion significantly reduces organic waste while producing valuable by-products such as compost and larvae. These findings demonstrate the potential of BSFL bioconversion to align with circular economy principles, contributing to environmental sustainability and economic resilience. The project serves as a scalable model for addressing organic waste challenges in rural communities while advancing the green economy agenda.

Abstract

Semakin tinggi kadar ureum, semakin rendah kadar hemoglobin. Meski menjalani hemodialisis rutin, pasien masih menunjukkan akumulasi ureum dan anemia, sehingga pengelolaan hemodialisis yang optimal tetap diperlukan.   Kata Kunci: Anemia, Frekuensi Hemodialisa, Gagal Ginjal Kronik, Hemoglobin, Kadar Ureum

Abstract

Forests contribute as important capital in national development with various strategic functions in the ecological, economic, and socio-cultural fields. In East Java Province, forest area management not only aims to preserve the environment, but also to improve the welfare of the community around the forest through the sustainable use of forest products. This management involves various stakeholders, including the Forestry Service (DISHUT), Perum Perhutani, and other related agencies. Synergy between stakeholders is needed to optimize the contribution of the forestry sub-sector to regional development, especially in supporting the preparation of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) which reflects the real economic value of forest products. Therefore, mapping the roles between stakeholders is important in creating effective and sustainable forestry governance in East Java. This study aims to analyze the role of stakeholders in the calculation of the GDP of the forestry sub-sector in East Java Province. This research uses a mixed method. The data sources for this study came from 4 informants and 61 respondents. The analysis was carried out quantitatively-descriptively and qualitatively through interactive models and role analysis. The results show that each stakeholder has a diverse role in the calculation of the GDP of the forestry sub-sector. The Forestry Service and BAPPEDA are the main actors (Key Players), while Perum Perhutani and BPS play the role of strategic supporters (Subjects). Inter-stakeholder collaboration is key to strengthening the real contribution of the forestry sector to regional economic development and sustainable forest management.

Abstract

Interrelated structural, social, and administrative factors still influence rural poverty in East Java. This activity aims to analyze the effectiveness of various approaches to poverty alleviation, develop an integrative model appropriate to the region's characteristics, and formulate recommendations for sustainable multi-strategy policies. Data collection was conducted through document studies, observations, and indept interview in three regency, Probolinggo, Blitar, and Nganjuk. The research results show that low agricultural productivity, limited market access, weak local economic institutions, dependence on social assistance, and inaccurate beneficiary data are the leading causes of rural poverty. Each region has a different context, ranging from mentalities and economic capacity barriers to infrastructure inequalities and data accuracy issues that trigger social conflicts. Based on these findings, a multi-strategy model was developed around three main pillars: sharpening fiscal and non-fiscal resources, integrating cross-sectoral programs with the same objectives, and filling program gaps through data strengthening and profession-based empowerment. The multi-strategy approach framework serves as a foundation to ensure that interventions are targeted and aligned with the real needs of the community. This recommendation model is expected to strengthen improve program effectiveness, and accelerate rural poverty reduction by increasing economic capacity and fostering more targeted policy synergies.
