Abstract

Mud crabs are mangrove crabs that are cultivated and harvested when molting so that their shells become soft and easy to consume. The purpose of this activity is to increase people's income in Desa Pulau Cawan, Kecamatan Mandah, Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, through soft shell crab cultivation by introducing environmentally friendly cultivation techniques, but it can produce added value in terms of improving the family's economy through soft-shell crab cultivation, one of which is training in making natural feed. This is based on information from farmers who have never received training on feed manufacturing. Through the foster village program, knowledge and technology are given about techniques for making natural feed from lime water and spinach extract as a substitute for vitamalt which is quite expensive. The methods used in the Community activities of the foster Village are lectures, discussions and direct practice with POKDAKAN, starting with the preparation of spinach extract, trash fish, lime water, mixing and drying. The results of the evaluation of the counseling participants showed that 24 participants had never known about making natural feed from lime water and spinach extract as soka crab feed. After participating in this training activity there was an increase of 86.96% in knowledge about how to make natural feed. The partner's assessment of the implementation of this activity is 52.17% strongly agree that this natural feed can be made independently; 52.17% strongly agree that giving lime water and spinach extract to the artificial feed mixture of trash fish has an effect on the acceleration of the molting process in crabs and does not affect the survival of crabs; 60.87% strongly agreed that it could be an alternative livelihood; strongly agree that the molting process in soft-shell crab cultivation is the same as when the crabs are given a vitamolt, which is 20 days.

Abstract

Air Terbit Village has a fisheries business unit known as Pembinaan Ikan Lele Mang Tata, which focuses on producing catfish seeds. This business unit applies a natural method in spawning Mutiara catfish to obtain seeds. One of the obstacles faced by this business unit is the lack of seed production. This is due to the use of natural spawning methods, traditional management, and suboptimal marketing. To increase seed production, it is necessary to identify quality broodstock and apply artificial spawning technology using funnel media. Community service activities aim to introduce artificial catfish spawning technology using funnel media to increase seed production and help overcome the challenges faced by farmers.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) often face fundamental challenges in business professionalism, particularly related to suboptimal product branding and the absence of formal legality. These conditions significantly hinder the competitiveness and market access of MSMEs in an increasingly competitive environment. This community service activity aims to assist Kedai Permai MSME in Kampung Kayu Ara Permai in professionalizing its business through two strategic interventions: improving product label design and facilitating the issuance of a Business Identification Number (NIB) as well as a Home Industry Food Production Certificate (P-IRT). The method used is participatory mentoring, involving active collaboration with the business owner from the conceptual design stage, technical facilitation, up to the issuance of legal documents. The outcomes of this activity include the creation of a new label design that is more informative and visually appealing for mangrove dodol and syrup products, as well as the successful acquisition of NIB and P-IRT by Kedai Permai MSME. These achievements represent a strategic step that not only enhances brand identity and consumer trust but also expands market access and establishes a solid foundation for sustainable business growth.

Abstract

The implementation of creative Fish Cultivation in Buckets (Budikdamber) in Jangkang Village aims to increase community understanding regarding the utilization of limited land as an effort for food security and family economic empowerment. This program uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-explanatory model through stages of socialization, workshops, and trials of catfish adaptation in peat water media. The results of the activity show that the Budikdamber method can be implemented well in local conditions, as evidenced by the successful adaptation of catfish seeds to peat water after liming using dolomite to neutralize the pH. The socialization and workshops conducted received a positive response from the community, marked by increased understanding, enthusiasm, and independent efforts of residents to make Budikdamber. In addition to being a solution to fulfill household food needs, this activity also opens up opportunities for small-scale businesses based on local resources. The implementation of creative Budikdamber in Jangkang Village shows great potential in encouraging food independence, environmental awareness, and strengthening the family economy through simple, environmentally friendly technology.
