Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dan Pendekatan Pemecahan Masalah (PPM) menggunakan metode Group to Group (GG) pada pembelajaran matematika ditinjau dari keaktifan dan prestasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksprerimen semu dengan pre-postest nonequivalent control group design. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelompok eksperimen. Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTs Negeri Godean yang terdiri dari empat kelas. Dari populasi yang ada diambil secara acak dua kelas yaitu VIII A dan VIII C sebagai sampel penelitian. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes prestasi belajar dan lembar observasi aktivitas belajar siswa terhadap matematika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkkan bahwa penerapan Pendekatan CTL dan PPM menggunakan metode GG dalam pembelajaran matematika efektif ditinjau dari aktivitas dan prestasi belajar siswa dalam matematika

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi tidak dapat dihindari pengaruhnya terhadap tercipatanya inovasi pada dunia pendidikan. Inovasi tersebut dapat berupa pembuatan video pembelajaran berbantuan software sparkol videoscribe. Software tersebut telah terbukti dapat meningkatkan hasil dan motivasi belajar siswa. Sayangnya, guru di SMA Dharma Amiluhur belum merasakan manfaat software tersebut. Untuk itu, tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan pembuatan video pembelajaran menggunakan software sparkol videoscribe. Metode pengabdian dilakukan dengan observasi langsung dan workshop. Temapt pengabdian adalah SMA Dharma Amailuhur dengan pesertanya adalah 19 guru semua mata pelajaran. Pelaksanaan workshop dilakukan selama 2 bulan dengan 3 pertemuan setiap bulannya. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa mulanya guru di SMA Dharma Amiluhur belum mengetahui pemanfaatan software tersebut. Akan tetapi, dengan adanya pelatihan yang diberikan guru di SMA Dharma Amiluhur dapat memanfaatkannya. Pada saat workshop, jumlah guru yang hadir >90%, antusiasmenya tinggia, dan guru telah dapat membuat video pembelajaran berbantuan software sparkol video scribe. Untuk itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa indikator keberhasilan pengabdian telah tercapai karena ketrampilan guru di SMA Dharma Amiluhur telah meningkat dengan memanfaatkan software tersebut.

Abstract

Abstrak: Teknologi beperan penting dalam kemajuan pendidikan karena memudahkan pendidik dalam mengajarkan mata pelajaran abstrak yang sulit dipahami, seperti matematika. Matematika merupakan komponen utama dari kecerdasan daya pikir manusia dan revolusi ilmu pengetahuan. Dalam pembelajaran matematika jika tanpa disertai media pembelajaran yang menarik, maka siswa cenderung tidak memperhatikan penjelasan guru, pasif, cepat bosan, dan hanya mencatat materi yang disampaikan. Sehingga inovasi media pembelajaran perlu dikembangkan seperti komik matematika interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respons siswa terkait penggunaan komik matematika dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif tentang tingkat kepuasan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran menggunakan komik matematika. Respons siswa dikumpulkan menggunakan angket dengan skala likert, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik kategorisasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil uji coba komik matematika pada kelas skala kecil dan skala besar menunjukkan rata-rata sangat baik. Untuk itu, komik matematika dinyatakan praktis digunakan karena memperoleh respons positif dari siswa, yaitu sangat berguna dalam proses belajar, bentuknya sederhana, petunjuk penggunaan mudah untuk dipahami, video penjelasan dibuat menyenangkan, gambar dan alur cerita menarik. Dengan demikian, respons siswa kelas VIII di MTs Kalipucang terhadap komik matematika baik dan praktis digunakan.Abstract:  Technology plays an important role in improving the education since it ease the educators to teach the abstract subjects that are difficult to be understood, such as mathematics. Mathematics is a major component of human intelligence and scientific revolution. In learning mathematics, if it is not accompanied by interesting learning media, students tend not to pay attention to the teacher's explanations, are passive, get bored quickly, and only take notes on the material presented. Hence, the innovation in learning media need to be developed such as interactive math comics. This study aims to determine student responses related to the use of mathematical comics in learning mathematics. This research is a descriptive study about the level of student satisfaction in the learning process using math comics. Student responses were collected using a questionnaire with a Likert scale, then analyzed using data categorization techniques. The results showed that the test results of mathematical comics on small-scale and large-scale classes showed a very good average. For this reason, math comics are stated to be practical to use because they get a positive response from students, which are very useful in the learning process, the form is simple, the instructions for use are easy to understand, the explanation videos are made fun, the pictures and storyline are interesting. Thus, the responses of class VIII students at MTs Kalipucang to math comics were good and practical to use.

Abstract

Rice is the staple food for people in West Kalimantan. One of the regions with rice farming culture is the Tunang village in Mempawah Hulu sub-district, Landak district, West Kalimantan, which is influenced by the habits of the population and geographical location. There are a series of processes for growing rice in the village that are inseparable from culture and can be linked to mathematics (ethnomathematics). The objective of this study is to identify the ethnomathematics of the cultivation of mountain rice or moton rice in the Dayak Kanayatn tribe, especially the Dayak Ahe tribe. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques include literature studies, surveys, and interviews. The results show that rice farming activities in the Dayak Ahe community include clearing the land (nabas uma), cutting down trees (nabang), burning the field (nunu uma), cleaning the field after the burning (marasehan uma), sowing (nugal uma), weeding (ngarumput uma), and harvesting the rice (bahanyi). These processes are accompanied with a series of ritual ceremonies, namely nabo’ panyugu nagari, nabo’ panyugu tahutn/naik dango, ngawah, batanam padi (which consists of ngalabuhatn, ngamalo lubakng tugal, and ngiliratn panyakit padi), ngaladakng buntikng padi, ngabati’, and ngaleko. There are ethnomathematics values contained in the ceremonies, namely points and lines, three-dimensional figures, two-dimensional shapes, counting, and symmetry of shape.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa ditinjau dari aspek overview. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Pacitan dan sampel penelitian sebanyak 141 siswa yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian diambil melalui tes kemampuan berpikir kritis, angket dan wawancara. Data hasil tes dianalisis berdasarkan aspek kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis (FRISCO). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa pada aspek overview masih tergolong rendah. Hal tersebut dapat dijabarkan sebagai berikut: (1) berdasarkan analisis hasil tes, aspek overview termasuk pada pencapaian aspek yang paling rendah sebesar 72,6; (2) hasil analisis angket menunjukkan persentase rata-rata pada aspek overview sebesar 58,16% termasuk pada kategori sedang; (3) hasil wawancara menunjukkan sebagian besar siswa hanya memeriksa dan mengecek pekerjaan pada hasil akhir saja.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon peserta didik terhadap E-LKPD berbantuan liveworksheets dalam pembelajaran matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif tentang tingkat kepuasan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran menggunakan E-LKPD berbantuan liveworksheets. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah E-LKPD dan angket respons peserta didik. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan E-LKPD berbantuan liveworksheet yang memuat indikator kemampuan pemahaman konsep pada kelas uji coba skala kecil dengan hasil belajar baik merasa bahwa penyajian E-LKPD menarik, bermanfaat dalam pembelajaran matematika materi segiempat dan segitiga, dan mudah digunakan. Sedangkan pada kelas uji coba skala besar dengan hasil belajar kurang baik menyatakan penyajian E-LKPD sangat menarik, sangat bermanfaat dalam pembelajaran matematika materi segiempat dan segitiga, dan sangat mudah digunakan. Secara keseluruhan diperoleh bahwa penyajian E-LKPD sangat menarik, bermanfaat untuk pembelajaran matematika, dan mudah digunakan. Oleh karena itu, seluruh presentase pada masing-masing aspek berada di atas 61% yang artinya E-LKPD praktis digunakan untuk pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to determine the correlation between reasoning, and emotional intelligence in social interaction to mathematics achievement. The research was conducted at SMP 5 Yogyakarta, Indonesia with 90 respondents who were selected by random sampling. The research verified the hypothesis used a survey method with correlation and regression technique approach. The research involved 3 (three) variables such as; mathematics achievement as the dependent variable and two other variables as the independent variables. They were reasoning and emotional intelligence in social interaction. The study found that there was a positive correlation between (a) reasoning and mathematics achievement; (b) emotional intelligence in social interaction and mathematics achievement; and (c) there was a positive correlation between reasoning and emotional intelligence in the social interaction to mathematics achievement. This study is expected to be a consideration for developing mathematical achievement through student reasoning, developing mathematical achievement through emotional intelligence in social interactions, and developing mathematical achievement through reasoning and emotional intelligence in social interactions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine improving the students' numeracy literacy skills by using interactive mathematical comics on pythagorean theorem. This type of research is experimental research with pretest posttest control group design. The sample in this study was class VIIIA as the experimental class totaling 21 students and class VIIIB as the control class totaling 19 students. Data collection techniques used interviews, observations, and questions pretest and posttest of students' numeracy literacy abilities. The results showed that the use of mathematical comics was effective in increasing students' numeracy literacy skills. This is because mathematical comics are presented based on interesting story concepts, interactive forms of daily conversation so that they can increase students' learning motivation. In math comics, the questions presented also stimulate students' numeracy literacy skills because they are presented with information in the form of numbers, data, and symbols related to mathematics. In addition, by learning to use mathematical comics students are required to be able to analyze various information in the form of graphs, tables, charts, and the ability to draw conclusions. Therefore, this study concludes that the use of mathematical comics in mathematics learning is effective in improving students' numeracy literacy skills.

Abstract

This research aims to develop mobile mathematics learning media based on ethnomathematics on the best rectangular view from criteria, validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This research was Research and Development (RD) refers to the developing model of ADDIE. The steps of ADDIE developing models were: (1) analysis, problem analysis and media content analyze; (2) design, made storyboards and flowcharts; (3) development, developing initial products including design planning and design implementation; (4) implementation, reality trials both small and large scale; and (5) evaluation, product revision and final product. Ethno-mathematics elements used in this research were parts of the Yogyakarta Palace’s chariot using the main application named Adobe Flash CS6. The research’s results showed that it has completed: (1) the validity aspect, the material experts got a score 68 with an excellent grade, and the media experts got a score of 73 with an excellent grade; (2) the practicality aspect, with assessors from 32 students getting 2006 of a score with an excellent grade; and (3) the effectiveness aspect, with virtual ability test that has 92,7% of students who completed. So, this mobile learning based on ethnomathematics is appropriated as mathematics learning media through adaptive e-learning on the study of two-dimensions geometry.

Abstract

Understanding concepts is an important part of mathematics. However, students' ability to understand mathematical concepts is still relatively low. For this reason, learning media are needed that can strengthen these abilities, such as the educational game QuizWhizzer. QuizWhizzer is a learning media in the form of an interesting, interactive game, prioritizing cooperation and communication, and can create positive interactions between students through games in the learning process. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine students' responses to the learning media in the form of the educational game QuizWhizzer to mathematical concept understanding ability. This study is a descriptive study about the level of student satisfaction in learning using the educational game QuizWhizzer. The instruments used were educational games and student response questionnaires. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 8 Yogyakarta, while the samples were students of class VIII-H and VIII-I. This study concludes that the use of the QuizWhizzer which contains indicators of the ability to understand concepts in the small-scale trial class and large-scale trial class obtains a positive response from students. This result is evidenced by the average score in the small-scale class is 55, while in the large-scale class it is 57. The score is in the Good classification. For this reason, the use of the QuizWhizzer educational game is stated to be practical to use for learning. The results of this study need to be developed on a larger scale considering the different characteristics of students.
