Abstract

Mata pelajaran biologi  menekankan pada pemberian pengalaman secara langsung maka sudah semestinya mendudukkan siswa sebagai pusat perhatian utama. Peran utama guru adalah memberikan pengalaman dan memperkaya pengetahuan siswa dengan mengeksplorasi lingkungan dengan proses pembelajaran yang sesuai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dengan multimedia dan lingkungan riil terhadap prestasi belajar biologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen yang dilaksankan pada bulan Januari-Oktober 2010. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling yang terdiri dari dua kelas. Satu kelas eksperimen I dengan multimedia dan satu kelas eksperimen II dengan lingkungan riil. Pengumpulan data prestasi belajar dengan menggunakan teknik pos test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  terdapat perbedaan prestasi belajar siswa dengan model pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dengan multimedia dan lingkungan riil yaitu media dengan lingkungan riil memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik daripada multimedia terhadap prestasi belajar biologi.

Abstract

This research is a research development that aims to develop biology learning media in the form of an android learning application. This study uses research and development (R&D) with a method developed by Thiagarajan, namely the 4D model with stages: define, design, develop and disseminate, the stages of this study are limited to the development stage. Products that have been developed are then validated by experts in their fields. The results showed that respiradroid learning media had an average of 3, 31 in aspects of learning media. The validation results obtained from media and material experts prove that respiradroid media developed are suitable for use in the learning process. Media respiradroid learning has the advantage that is, a learning media that is flexible means that it can be used anywhere, easy to install, easy to find material content with student stimulus for thinking. It is expected to improve students' higher-order thinking skills in the concept of respiration.

Abstract

Digestive health literacy is important for students to be able to determine their diet, choose healthy foods, prevent and know the actions that need to be taken in treating diseases or disorders of the digestive system, and even promoting healthy living behaviors to others. This study aims to develop instructional designs to improve student health literacy with the ADDIE model. The development carried out consisted of developing lesson plans, assessment instruments, and learning media DD Mag'z (digestive disease magazine). Based on the results of the analysis, the learning design was determined using DD Mag'z and Google Meet synchronously. Expert validation was carried out assessing three aspects consisting of the feasibility of media, content, and language. The results of the validation of the developed media obtained an average value of 3.58 and were included in the very valid category so that it was suitable to be used as an alternative learning media on the concept of the digestive system. Measurement of the improvement of students' digestive health literacy skills used a dual choice instrument as a pre-test and post-test. The effectiveness analysis used a one group pre-test post-test design and obtained data that were not normally distributed. The Wilcoxon test results showed an effect of the synchronous use of DD Mag'z media with Google Meet on students' health literacy. While the results of the effectiveness test using N-Gain showed an average value of 0.41 so that the effectiveness of the instructional design developed was moderate.

Abstract

Misconceptions are often experienced by the students of senior high school. Especially on the learning material of circulatory system. The aim of this study is to develop Biology instructional media in the form of Adobe Flash-based interactive instructional media on the learning material of Circulatory System which the content is designed to improve the students’ competencies. The development of this instructional media uses the RnD method with the Borg and Gall development model. There are 3 validators consisting of 2 Biology material experts and 1 instructional media expert who will test and validate the media that is developed. The study to test the effectiveness of the media is a before-after experimental design. The validation of media done by material and media experts shows the result that is categorized as very good, and the result of statistical test with paired sample t-test shows a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05. This means that there is a significant difference in the average score of students from before and after using Adobe Flash-based interactive instructional media to improve students’ competencies. Thus, the Adobe Flash-Based Interactive instructional media can improve the competencies of students.

Abstract

The use of question instrument in determining achievement of students’ study goal can be referred from the score achieved by the students in solving contextual questions with solution or solving strategy in high level of thinking. The research aims to get integrated assessment toolsof conceptual understanding of Pteridophyta and metacognitive skill that is validated and can be used in learning activity. The research is conducted in July 2018 – November 2019 at Universitas Negeri Jakarta, course of Botany Cryptogamae, sub-course Pteridophytes. This is a Research and Development study using 4D method (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). However, the research will be conducted up to the develop phase only. The result shows that integrated assessment toolon conceptualunderstanding of Pteridophytesand students’ metacognitive skill is proper to be used, with expert validation result shows 78.13 on criteria for concept understanding, and 79.17 for students’ metacognitive skill. Result of instrument validation shows more than 0.396, means it is valid, and reliability more than 0.6.

Abstract

Natural science learning during the Covid-19 pandemic has quite a high challenge because students and teachers cannot learn directly. Knowing the effectiveness of using Google-site as a material and media for student learning during distance learning to improve student learning outcomes is the aim of this study. This research was conducted at SMP PGRI 1 Karang Tengah Tangerang in grade 8. Purposive sampling was carried out for sampling in this study, so that class 8-E was the experimental class and class 8-E was the control class. The results showed that the use of Google-site as teaching materials and learning media was feasible. The use of Google-site as teaching materials and learning media has no significant effect seen from the Mann Whitney test of 0.419. The average N-gain test obtained from the control class was 0.029, while the experimental class was 0.051. The comparison of the mean value of the control class pretest and posttest was 1.4 points, while the average score of the ecaperimen class was 3 points. Based on this, it can be concluded that the use of Google-site as a material and media for student learning during distance learning can be used to improve student learning outcomes. However, several revisions are needed so that teaching materials and media are more effective in improving student learning outcomes independently.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) develop an assessment tool that can measure the ability to communicate with prospective Biology teachers, (2) test the appropriateness of the assessment tool, (3) measure the validity and reliability of the assessment instrument. The type of this research is Research and Development using the ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) model. Testing of assessment equipment was carried out by two experts from Jakarta State University and Malang State University. The result obtained is the assessment of communication skill. Expert validation of communication skills instruments obtained a mean score with criteria valid for aspect of content, valid for the aspect of clarity, valid for the aspect of relevance, and very valid for the aspect of language. Overall expert validity test obtained an average of 3.68 with valid criteria and is suitable for use as an assessment tool. This research needs to be strengthened its effectiveness and efficiency by conducting product feasibility tests to biology per-service teachers in biology education. In addition this research is also able to be the basis for developing other research related to other 21st century skills based so that the learning process is able to provide solutions towards many problems the surrounding environment.Keyword: Google classroom, Communication, 21st century skills.

Abstract

Ramuan herbal dapat berpotensi besar untuk meningkatkan ketahanan tubuh dalam masa pandemi jika digunaan secara tepat. Rendahnya pengetahuan tentang takaran, teknik pengolahan, pola konsumsi ramuan herbal, dan efek sampingnya menjadikan fokus untuk program pengabdian masyarakat dengan memberikan informasi yang komprehensif tentang penggunaan ramuan herbal yang dapat meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh secara baik dan benar. Program pemberdayaan masyarakat dilaksanakan dalam moda daring melalui media jejaring sosial secara asinkronus sesuai tahap ODSIMED (observasi, pengembangan, sosialisasi, implementasi, monitoring, evaluasi, diseminasi) Program ini mampu meningkatkan  pengetahuan masyarakat sasaran tentang penggunaan ramuan herbal yang tepat. Khususnya tentang teknik pengolahan ramuan herbal (skor N-Gain 0,77).

Abstract

Plant classification material is one of the materials listed in the basic competence of the curriculum applied in Indonesia and is less attractive to students because the characteristics of plants are quite difficult to identify so that the classification is complicated. It is known that most middle-level students really like games which are integrated in learning activities. Therefore, this study aims to develop a media called Plant-Puzzle Games (PPG) which is expected to have a positive effect in the form of increasing the learning motivation of junior high school students in studying plant classification material. The research method used in this study is a research and development method with the ASSURE model as the research design. Based on the results of the media validation test by experts, an average value of 3.25 was obtained, which indicates that the media was included in the valid category. Based on the results of the effectiveness test with the calculation of N-Gain, the average value is 0.49. This shows that, after using PPG media, the learning motivation of students has increased which is in the sufficient category.
