Abstract

Developing students' critical thinking skills in learning was an effort to improve learning outcomes. However, critical thinking skills were still not fully developed. The development of Digestipedia-web or website-based media was expected to improve students' critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to examine the feasibility and quality of Digestipedia-web media in improving critical thinking skills. This study used the Research and Development method with the ADDIE model. The research was carried out in November 2022. The developed media was tested for feasibility in terms of material, media and language by two expert validators. The effectiveness of the developed media was tested on 35 students at SMAN 18 Tangerang Regency, Indonesia. The overall results of the media test were categorized as valid and feasible. The results of the students' post-test scores were higher than the pre-test scores. The results of the media effectiveness test with the N-Gain test obtained the medium category. The conclusion of this study showed that Digestipedia-web was valid and feasible to use as a learning medium and can improve critical thinking skills in digestive system material.

Abstract

This research is motivated by educators who do not optimize learning media in teaching biology in high school, so this will have an impact on students' thinking skills at a concrete level. This study aims to develop learning and the application of multimedia to improve students' thinking power. This study uses the Borg and Gall development model through the stages of research and information gathering, planning, initial product development, initial field trials, main product revisions, main field trials, product revision operations, operational field trials, final product revisions, outreach, and implementation. Follow-up research combined with quasi-experimental research. This multimedia validation involves media experts, content experts, and linguists as well as students. The research instrument used was in the form of multiple-choice questions. The development results have been assessed by expert judgment. The developed multimedia learning can be used well at the high school level in Class XI IPA and is classified as very good. The results obtained for improving students' thinking skills in biology learning can be used in the learning process by obtaining the results of increasing students' thinking skills.

Abstract

Metacognition skills (MS) is an individual's ability to evaluate and regulate his own thinking. Critical thinking skills (CTS) is the ability to apply the knowledge to solve problems, evaluate information, and make solutions. Conceptual understanding (CU) refers to an integrated and functional understanding of scientific knowledge. This study aims to analyze the correlation between MS and CU on motion system; CTS and CU; and MS and CTS. This research was conducted at Public High School (PHS) 3 Bekasi in February – March 2021 by involving a sample of 110 students of Grade 11 Mathematics and Science Class, who were selected through simple random sampling technique. The instrument used were the essay test, and a multiple-choice test distributed online. The research method is descriptive method with correlational studies. The results show that there is a positive relationship between MS and CU on Motion System with a correlation of 0.967; CTS and CU with a correlation of 0.431; and MS and CTS with a correlation of 0.978.

Abstract

This research aims to develop hormone system teaching material for distance learning DL through Moodle to improve students' digital literacy. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which has the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The developed teaching material was tested for feasibility on the material, media, and language aspects by six expert validators. Two biology teachers and students from senior high school SMAN 3 Bekasi also tested the developed teaching material. The results showed that the hormone system teaching material for DL through Moodle had an average value of 3.40 (very valid) on the material aspect, 3.30 (very valid) on the media aspect, and 3.03 (valid) on the language aspect. The Biology teacher’s trial obtained an average value of 3.45 (very valid) and an average of 3.32 (very valid) for the students’ trial. The hormone system teaching materials for DL through Moodle has a final average value of 3.30 from a maximum value of 4.00. It shows that the hormone system teaching material for DL through Moodle is very valid to be used as a learning medium for hormone systems in schools and is expected to improve students' digital literacy.

Abstract

Implementasi kurikulum merdeka telah memacu kreativitas guru untuk mengembangkan perangkat ajar sesuai dengan prinsip pembelajaran terdeferensiasi. Namun, kesadaran guru terhadap perlindungan kekayaan intelektual masih rendah. Oleh karena itu, program pemberdayaan guru SMA dirancang dengan menggunakan metode ODSIMED. Tujuan program untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam menyusun ajuan hak cipta. Program dilaksanakan selama tiga bulan berbasis hands on. Tes awal dan akhir diberikan secara elektronik untuk mendapatkan data pemahaman tentang hak cipta. Data keterampilan penyusunan ajuan hak cipta diperoleh dari hasil skoring penugasan. Program ini dinilai baik oleh mitra dengan indeks mutu layanan sangat baik (3,56). Ada peningkatan yang sangat baik pada pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam menyusun dokumen ajuan hak cipta.

Abstract

Metacognition and knowledge of ecosystem concepts with critical thinking is a self-learning process of critical learning toward certain objects, which are ecosystem components. The research analyzes the relationship between metacognitive skills, knowledge of ecosystem concepts, and critical thinking skills. The research is carried out at MAN 1 Tangerang from May to August 2021, involving 65 Class XI IPA-1 and XI IPA-2 students. The students are selected using a simple random sampling technique. The instrument consists of variables of metacognitive ability (X1), knowledge of ecosystem concepts (X2), and critical thinking (Y), each of which consists of 15 description questions. Thus, the total number of research samples is 195.  The instrument used is an essay test that is distributed online and offline. The research method is a correlation study. The results indicate that there is no positive relationship between metacognitive skills and critical thinking with a correlation of 0.016, there is a positive relationship between knowledge of ecosystem concepts and critical thinking with a correlation of 0.490, and there is a positive and simultaneous relationship between metacognitive skills and knowledge of ecosystem concepts and critical thinking.

Abstract

Diagnostic tests are strategies used in differentiated learning to adjust the course of learning based on students' existing learning needs. There are several types of diagnostic tests, including the three-tier diagnostic test. Explaining a three-tier diagnostic test instrument that is suitable for use in studying differentiated excretory systems is the aim of this research. The research method is research & development with 4D as a development model. 33 students of class The instrument developed consisted of 20 questions which were then tested for content and empirical validity. Based on the results of validity testing, an average of 92% was obtained, which shows that the instrument is very valid. Empirical validity testing obtained 13 valid questions and 7 invalid questions. In addition, a value of 0.732 was obtained from the reliability testing results, which shows that the instrument developed is reliable. Based on the results of testing the level of difficulty of the questions, it was found that there were 3 easy questions, 10 medium ones, and 7 difficult ones, and from the results of testing the differentiating power of the questions it was found that the questions were not good because they had a negative value of 1, bad had 3, fair and good each had 7, respectively. and very well collected 2. Based on content and empirical validity testing, the results showed that only 13 questions could be used in the differentiated excretion learning system, while the other 7 questions could not be used.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop the learning media, i.e., a digital magazine, to improve the biological literacy skills of the students. The research method used Research and Development (RD) with ADDIE develops models. The developed learning media, HAIBIO, consists of biofact, bio lab, bioword, and biogame. The instrument test of biological literacy consists of 30 multiple-choice items based on four stages of biological literacy: nominal, functional, structural, and multidimensional. The validity test is conducted by paying attention to presentation, content, and language by two expert validators who say that media is valid to use in the class. The test of empirical validity is conducted for 30 students in class XI Science 1 in MAN 1 Bogor City. The empirical validity test results show that learning media are valid, and the instrument test found that 15 items are valid and five items are not. The reliability test result shows that 88% of respondents said that the instrument of biological literacy is reliable. The result of the normality test shows a significance value of 0,117 in α = 0.05, indicating that the data is normally distributed. The T-dependent test result shows a significance value of -7.679 with a t-table of -2.042 in α = 0.05. It shows that there is a higher enhancement score post-test than pre-test. The result of the N-Gain test is 0,44 in the medium category, and the effect size score is 2.93. That shows that HAIBIO e-magz is improving the biological literacy skills of the students.

Abstract

Misconception is a problem that is often found in learning biology concepts. Ecosystem concept is one of the biology concepts in which misconceptions are found a lot. As a learning problem, misconceptions need to be addressed as soon as possible. The purpose of this research is to produce a valid and reliable diagnostic test instrument for misconceptions in the form of a three-tier multiple choice test which is presented through Google Form platform. This development research applied the research and development method with a 4D development model. The developed diagnostic test instrument was validated by two expert validators and obtained a mean score of 3.27 (very feasible). Through the results of item validation, from 40 questions there are 30 valid items with an average correlation coefficient value of 0.67 and 10 invalid items with an average correlation coefficient value of 0.10. The diagnostic test instrument was also tested for readability to students and got an average value of 3.41 (very feasible) and was tested for readability to teachers and got an average value of 3.74 (very feasible). This shows that the developed product is very valid and reliable to be used as a diagnostic test instrument for misconceptions.

Abstract

Teaching materials are one of the important factors that determine the success of the learning process. The research objective was to develop a circulation system teaching material based on Moodle's LMS which is oriented towards increasing students' scientific literacy. The development model used was Thiagarajan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), to the stage of feasibility testing (develop). The subjects in this study were validators of media experts, material experts, language experts, teachers and students. The data collection technique was carried out using a questionnaire to measure the validity of the open material. The results showed that the circulation system teaching materials based on the LMS-Moodle, which were oriented towards increasing scientific literacy, had an average score of 3.50 (very valid) from a maximum value of 4.00 from all aspects. Based on the results of the research, it is shown that the teaching materials of the circulation system based on the Moodle LMS which were developed to increase scientific literacy are very valid to be used as learning media for the circulation system in schools and are expected to improve students' scientific literacy.
