Abstract

This study aims to describe the increase of students' mathematical understanding ability in learning the two-variable linear equation system (SPLDV) and the two-variable linear inequality system (SPTLDV) with Android GeoGebra media reviewed by gender. This experimental quasi research is one group pretest postest design. The sample in this study was a class XI of 32 students with Purposive Random Sampling techniques. Data collection in this study uses an instrument for a mathematical understanding ability test in the form of a description. The results of the study can be concluded in the learning of Android GeoGebra, the mathematical understanding of male students is significantly different from the mathematical understanding of female students. It means that in learning the Android GeoGebra Improvement of the Mathematical Understanding Ability of Male Students is greater than female students. Thus it can be concluded that in the learning of Android GeoGebra, an increase in the mathematical understanding of male students is better than female students.

Abstract

Mathematics is essential as it forms the foundation for sciences applied in the real world. Students' success in learning mathematics is crucial and must be prioritized. To understand and excel in mathematics, diligent study is required. Students who study diligently are often motivated by external factors such as outcomes, targets, environment, and teachers. Enthusiasm serves as the driving force that fosters the desire to learn effectively. Thus, motivation is a critical and consistent factor that encourages students to study diligently, ultimately improving their mathematics learning outcomes. This study examines the influence of school origin, national exams (UN), and tutoring on students' motivation to learn mathematics. The research involves a preliminary study, data collection, and analysis using a decision tree with the help of the Orange application. The results indicate that high motivation levels are more common among students attending public schools and those influenced by the presence of national exams. The findings of this study should be utilized by the government to enhance students' learning motivation and significantly improve mathematics learning outcomes. The study suggests targeted actions, including equitable resource allocation, alternative evaluation systems, teacher training, and enhanced counseling services, to effectively boost students' learning motivation and improve the overall quality of education. This research contributes by providing empirical evidence on the factors influencing students' motivation to learn mathematics, offering insights that can inform policies and interventions aimed at fostering a more effective and engaging learning environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis praksiologi Perencanaan Pembelajaran Mendalam (PPM) Komposisi Fungsi Fase F dalam Kurikulum Merdeka yang mendorong pemanfaatan masalah kontekstual. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif-analitis dengan kerangka Teori Didaktik Antropologi (ATD) oleh Yves Chevallard, data dikumpulkan melalui analisis dokumen modul pembelajaran mendalam dan wawancara dengan guru perancang sekaligus pengguna modul. Hasil menunjukkan praksiologi modul meliputi beragam tugas (pemodelan kontekstual, manipulasi aljabar); teknik (analisis masalah, substitusi bertahap, penurunan rumus, kolaborasi PBL); teknologi (justifikasi efisiensi, relevansi realitas, filosofi Kurikulum Merdeka); serta teori (fungsi dasar, operasi aljabar, definisi formal). Praksiologi ini menunjukkan desain yang koheren, berorientasi kuat pada aplikasi kontekstual, dan adaptif terhadap tantangan implementasi di kelas, tetapi dalam penyajian materi masih perlu menyajikan pemahaman dasar dari fungsi komposisi berdasarkan scholarly knowledge untuk dapat menanamkan konsep dasar yang kuat bagi pemahaman murid. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan berharga mengenai penerapan ATD dalam menganalisis desain didaktis guru serta implikasinya bagi praktik pengajaran matematika yang relevan dengan kebutuhan abad ke-21.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pekembangan penelitian terkait Realistic mathematics Education (RME) dalam pembelajaran matematika selama periode tahun 2012 – 2023. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis bibliometrik. Sumber data diambil dari database Dimensions dengan kata kunci ‘Realistic Mathematics Education’ dan ‘pembelajaran matematika’. Sebanyak 358 dokumen yang terkumpul lalu disimpan dalam format RIS untuk dilengkapi dalam aplikasi Medeley. Data yang sudah dilengkapi keywords dan jurnal yang menerbitkan selanjutnya disimpan kembali dalam format RIS untuk selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan apilkasi VOSviewer guna mendapatkan network visualization dan overlay visualization. Analisis mencatat bahwa perkembangan publikasi penelitian terkait RME dalam pembelajaran matematika di Indonesia cendrung meningkat, dengan publikasi terbanyak di tahun 2022 yaitu 75 dokumen. Jurnal yang paling banyak mempulikasikan terkait penelitian ini adalah jurnal AKSIOMA dengan total publikasi sebanyak 20 dokumen. Artikel yang ditulis oleh Seri Ningsih tahun 2014 dengan judul 'Realistic Mathematics Education: Model Alternatif Pembelajaran Matematika Sekolah' merupakan artikel dengan jumalh sitasi terbanyak yaitu 43 sitasi. Namun peneliti yang paling berpengaruh dengan mempublikasikan 4 artikel dan berkolaborasi dengan 11 penulis lainnya. Dalam analisis ini diperoleh bahwa peneliti di Indonesia memfokuskan kemampuan matematika dalam penelitian terkait RME. Analisis ini mendapatkan bahwa penggunaan etnomatematika bersama RME dalam pemeblajaran matematika masih relatif rendah dan baru, menggindikasikan potensi untuk penelitian lebih lanjut dan pengembangan yang lebih luas dalam bidang ini. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan penting untuk pengembangan lebih lanjut dalam konteks pendidikan matematika di Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe a sentiment model for elementary school students' comments on mathematics. Respondents in this study were 286 elementary school students in seven elementary schools in Bandar Lampung. Sentiment data were obtained through student comments that were collected in May-June 2024. Data analysis used sentiment analysis and mood analysis based on student comment texts carried out using Ekman's Basic Emotions classification. The analysis was carried out through Orange software using Corpus analysis, sentiment analysis, topic modeling, and also tweet profiler. The results of the analysis revealed that: i) the sentiment of elementary school students was dominated by positive sentiment (percentage achievement of 50%), with the three most keywords expressed in students' textual comments about mathematics were "fun", "difficult", "hard"; ii) the sentiment displayed by grade 5 and grade 6 students was dominated by positive sentiment while grade 4 students predominantly caused negative sentiment; and iii) the results of Ekman's Basic Emotions classification showed that "Joy" was the most dominant emotion felt by students in their textual comments about mathematics, while "fear" was the emotion with the least occurrence in students' textual comments about mathematics. The implications of the finding for the model of positive sentiment of elementary school students towards mathematics which can be used as a basis for selecting research interventions and mathematics learning strategies/methods that are more appropriate for elementary school students.

Abstract

Abstrak Keberadaan guncangan struktural (structural break) pada data deret waktu menyebabkan metode peramalan linear konvensional memiliki keterbatasan dalam menghasilkan akurasi yang tinggi. Keterbatasan ini sangat terlihat pada data mobilitas penumpang kereta api nasional yang merekam fluktuasi ekstrem dan perubahan level secara permanen akibat krisis makro di masa lalu, seperti pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan membangun model peramalan yang adaptif menggunakan pendekatan Hybrid yang menggabungkan model statistik linear Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average with Exogenous Variables (ARIMAX) dan algoritma Machine Learning non-linear eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost). Metodologi dilakukan dalam dua tahap, yaitu estimasi komponen linear dan dampak kebijakan menggunakan ARIMAX dengan empat variabel dummy intervensi, dilanjutkan dengan pemodelan sisaan (residual) yang mengandung pola non-linear menggunakan XGBoost. Hasil analisis menunjukkan model linear terbaik adalah ARIMAX(0,1,3) dengan residu yang terbukti tidak berdistribusi normal, menjustifikasi penggunaan XGBoost pada tahap kedua. Evaluasi kinerja pada data uji (out-of-sample) membuktikan bahwa model Hybrid ARIMAX-XGBoost lebih unggul dibandingkan model ARIMAX tunggal, dengan penurunan nilai RMSE sebesar 2,76% dan perbaikan akurasi MAPE sebesar 2,81%, sehingga pendekatan ini lebih efektif digunakan untuk perencanaan operasional transportasi di era pemulihan pasca-pandemi. Abstract The existence of structural breaks in time series data causes conventional linear forecasting methods to have limitations in producing high accuracy. This limitation is highly evident in the national train passenger mobility data, which records extreme fluctuations and permanent level shifts due to past macro crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to build an adaptive forecasting model using a Hybrid approach combining the linear statistical model Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average with Exogenous Variables (ARIMAX) and the non-linear Machine Learning algorithm eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost). The methodology was conducted in two stages, estimating linear components and policy impacts using ARIMAX with four intervention dummy variables, followed by modeling the residuals containing non-linear patterns using XGBoost. The analysis results indicated that the best linear model was ARIMAX(0,1,3) with residuals proven to be non-normally distributed, justifying the use of XGBoost in the second stage. Performance evaluation on testing data (out-of-sample) demonstrated that the Hybrid ARIMAX-XGBoost model outperformed the single ARIMAX model, with a 2.76% decrease in RMSE and a 2.81% improvement in MAPE accuracy, proving that this approach is more effective for transportation operational planning in the post-pandemic recovery era.

Abstract

Various gaps exist in every education system. This will impact students' literacy skills, as evidenced by the PISA ranking every year indonesia is still in the lower class. The purpose of this study was to describe the reading literacy ability of the students of SD N 1 Brajan towards the class 2 teaching campus program. This study was qualitative research with a phenomenological design. The subjects taken were fifth-grade students of SD N 1 Brajan for the academic year 2021/2022, with the technique of taking the subject using Snowball Sampling. The time used by the researcher was 30 days at SD N 1 Brajan, Klaten district, Central Java province. The auxiliary instrument used is the class 2 teaching campus program: wall magazines, literacy trees, and literacy tips. The data obtained were drawn using interviews and observations. The validity of the data is required using triangulation methods with inductive data analysis techniques. The results showed that students' reading literacy skills were high, with various characteristics that appeared for each student in each indicator. Hopefully, this research can illustrate that campus teaching activities have a good impact on schools, especially schools with the 3T predicate.

Abstract

One of the factors that influence the ability to solve mathematical problems is that students do not like mathematics and lack the ability to understand concepts. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of math anxiety on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This research uses SLR (Systematic Literature Review). The result of this study is that the effect of math anxiety on problem solving abilities is negative. Based on the studies reviewed, it can be concluded that the level of students' math anxiety is high, so the resulting problem-solving ability is low, and vice versa. Problem solving abilities are strongly influenced by students' math anxiety.

Abstract

Background of this research was the fact that there are still many students of class VIII SMP N 24 Padang who has learning obstacles in the process of learning mathematics, especially in the field of geometry. The learning obstacles experienced by students were identified through a preliminary study and analysis of learning obstacle identification tests on area of ​​cubes and cuboids, and interviews with class teachers and students. The types of learning obstacles in this study are ontogenic obstacles, didactical obstacles, and epistemological obstacles. The design of this study used a descriptive qualitative research method with learning obstacle identification test instruments on area of ​​cubes and cuboids, and interviews. The subjects of this study were class VIII students of SMP N 24 Padang who took the test and interviews, and mathematics teachers as interview respondents. The results of this study identified learning obstacles consisting of ontogenic obstacles, didactical obstacles, and epistemological obstacles
