Abstract

Most Physics Education students do not know about ionizing radiation technology in food preservation. This study aims to determine and analyze the ability of physics education students at the University of Jember in understanding ionizing radiation technology in food preservation. The research method used is a questionnaire method to 50 physics education students at the University of Jember. The research variable is students' knowledge of ionizing radiation technology as food preservation. The data collection technique used is by giving 10 multiple choice questions to 50 students of Physics Education. The results of student answers will be analyzed and represented in the form of tables and pie charts.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to calculate the binding energy and disintegration energy with the binding energy liquid drop model approach. This research is modeling research. The steps: 1) prepare supporting materials for research on stability and elements in the radioactive process; 2) reviewing materials that have been obtained previously; 3) do calculation simulation; 4) analyze and discuss the results of calculations; 5) conclude the results of the study. The calculation results show that the element has the largest binding energy of 1805,1 MeV and has the smallest binding energy per nucleon that is equal to 7,584 MeV, while the resulting child nuclide has the smallest binding energy of 1612,2747 MeV and has the largest binding energy per nucleon of 7,8266 MeV, so that the binding energy has a decreased graph while the binding energy per nucleon has a rising graph. The biggest disintegration energy in the uranium series decay process occurs at decay of alpha to be which is equal to 5,1037 MeV while the smallest disintegration energy occurs at beta decay becomes which is equal to -0,2639 MeV. Abstract

We find many applications of physics in everyday life, ranging from simple things to complex things. One example of the application of physics in everyday life is the activity of drying tobacco, when in its management there are concepts of temperature and heat. This study aims to examine the mechanism of drying tobacco based on the concept of heat which can later be integrated into the physics learning. The research method consists of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis stage in this study consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that in the tobacco drying mechanism there is a conduction heat transfer process during the fire curing and convection heat transfer process during the air curing in the drying warehouse and radiation heat transfer in sun drying. Due to the transfer of heat into the tobacco causes evaporation so that the water content in the tobacco is reduced. The factors that cause evaporation are difference in temperature, wind, humidity, cross-sectional area, and air pressure.

Abstract

Indonesia terletak di daerah tropis sehingga sumber daya alam di Indonesia sangat melimpah. Komoditas pertanian global sebagian besar dapat hidup di Indonesia. Salah satu cara untuk untuk meningkatkan hasil pertanian yaitu dengan menggunakan paparan medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF). Medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) merupakan medan magnet yang termasuk ke dalam spektrum gelombang elektromagnetik dengan frekuensi rendah antara 0 sampai 300 Hz. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan vegetatif apa saja yang dihasilkan oleh tanaman ketika diberikan paparan medan magnet. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu studi literatur dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Tanaman yang menjadi fokus pembahasan pada artikel ini yaitu tanaman tomat ranti, tanaman sawi, tanaman edamame, jamur kuping, dan jamur tiram. Pemilihan tanaman ini dipilih secara acak dan bervariasi untuk mengetahui perbedaan besar paparan medan magnet yang cocok dan bagus untuk tanaman tertentu. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa paparan pada tanaman tomat ranti dengan intensitas 300 µT selama 60 menit berpengaruh terhadap proses pertumbuhan. Pada tanaman sawi dengan intensitas paparan sebesar 600 µT selama 60 menit berpengaruh terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, bobot basah, dan bobot kering tanaman. Pada tanaman edamame dengan intensitas 300 µT selama 120 menit berpengaruh signifikan terhadap biomassa. Pada tanaman jamur kuping dengan intensitas 600 µT selama 70 menit berpengaruh terhadap proses pertumbuhan. Pada tanaman jamur tiram dengan intensitas 500 µT selama 50 menit dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan jamur. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa besar intensitas dan lama waktu paparan di setiap jenis tanaman memberikan pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman.

Abstract

Coffee production in Sidomulyo Village, located at the foot of Mount Gumitir, Silo District, Jember Regency, is famous for being very abundant. This condition is very supportive of the increasing needs of coffee drink lovers. However, the taste of ready-to-brewed ground coffee produced by the Sidomulyo Koperasi WANITA is still unable to compete with coffee on the market. This activity aimed to provide training on civet coffee production through the dry coffee bean fermentation method as a primary ingredient. The fermentation process was carried out using a Magnetic Fermentation machine which was the result of research in 2020. The fermentation process training activity was attended by 15 members of the Koperasi WANITA. 50 kg of dry coffee was fermented using a Magnetic Fermenter machine. Dry coffee was soaked first in warm water (temperature around 30 - 400C) for 5 hours. Then it was drained and put in a fermenter box by adjusting the intensity of the ELF magnetic field to around 300 T for 90 minutes. The coffee beans were transferred to buckets and ripened for up to 5 days, then washed and sun-dried for three days, after drying in Roasting and continue grinding. The targeted outputs of this activity included scientific publications in the National Journal of Abdimas with ISSN. The results of this activity had produced fermented coffee beans that had been roasted in the form of roasted coffee beans and ground coffee. Based on the results of the evaluation, the members of the Ketakasi Koperasi already had skills in producing artificial Luwak coffee. This had the potential to develop superior products for Sidomulyo civet coffee.

Abstract

The fermentation process in making cassava tape (Manihot esulenta) worked on the alcohol content. The alcohol content differed during the fermentation process. The objective of this research was analyzing the alcohol content produced in the fermentation process of cassava tape (Manihot esculenta). The data interpretation method was experimented in this research. Three samples of tape were treated with ELF magnetic field exposure involving the intensity of 200µT with 15-minute exposure and the intensity of 300µT with 15-minute exposure. The tools used in this research were a thermometer to measure room temperature and a portable alcohol brix ATC meter refractometer to measure alcohol content. The results showed the average alcohol content on the first day was 8-10%; it increased on the following day by 25% and on the third day, it reached 36-38%. Thus, the longer the fermentation process, the higher the alcohol content would be; it can be concluded that the samples treated with ELF magnetic field at the intensity of 300uT obtained the highest alcohol content.

Abstract

Penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang sesuai menjadi salah satu faktor tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran. Salah satu metode yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa yaitu metode praktikum. Keterampilan proses sains dibutuhkan untuk memperoleh, mengembangkan serta menerapkan konsep, hukum dan prinsip yang ada pada sains. Metode praktikum mendorong siswa untuk memahami materi bukan hanya pada teori tetapi juga meningkatkan kemampuan proses, kemampuan menganalisis, serta kemampuan siswa dalam menyimpulkan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one group pretes-posttest. Berdasarkan hasil observasi didapatkan presentase keterampilan proses sains siswa pada setiap indikator, yaitu mengamati 51,56%, mengklasifikasi 45,31%, mengkomunikasikan 43,75%, menarik kesimpulan 48,44%, dan memprediksi 45,31%. Pada saat menggunakan metode praktikum terdapat peningkatan keterampilan proses sains yaitu mengamati 64,06%, mengklasifikasi 59,38%, melakukan percobaan 73,44%, mengkomunikasikan 54,69%, menarik kesimpulan 53,13%, dan memprediksi 60,94%. Metode praktikum terbukti mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa yaitu dengan perolehan N-gain 0,31 .

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengetahui kelayakan serta keefektifan media pembelajaran fisika menggunakan Sparkol Videoscribe pokok bahasan fluida dinamis. Produk yang dikembangkan berupa video pembelajaran memakai Sparkol Videoscribe pokok bahasan fluida dinamis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model pengembangan 4D dengan 4 tahap yakni define, design, development, disseminate. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA 3 dan XI MIPA 4 di SMA Negeri 1 Glenmore tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Instrument pengumpulan data yang digunakan di penelitian ini yakni lembar validasi, lembar pre-test serta post-test yang terdiri dari 5 soal.  Hasil penelitian pengembangan media pembelajaran menggunakan Sparkol Videoscribe pokok bahasan fluida dinamis dikategorikan valid atau layak dengan hasil rata-rata uji validator ahli dan pengguna mencapai tingkat kevalidan 88,5% dan media pembelajaran ini efektif dipakai pada kegiatan belajar mengajar di kelas XI karena terbukti dapat menaikkan hasil belajar siswa di aspek kognitif dengan nilai N-gain sejumlah 75% termasuk dalam kategori “tinggi”, sehingga media pembelajaran fisika memakai Sparkol Videoscribe menghasilkan video pembelajaran yang valid. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, media pembelajaran fisika menggunakan Sparkol Videoscribe valid, efektif dan dapat digunakan sebagai alat bantu dalam pembelajaran fluida dinamis. This research aims to develop and determine the feasibility and effectiveness of physics learning media using Sparkol Videoscribe on dynamic fluid topics. The product developed is a learning video using Sparkol Videoscribe on dynamic fluid topics. This study uses research and development methods with a 4D development model with four stages: define, design, development, and dissemination. The subjects in this study were students of classes XI MIPA 3 and XI MIPA 4 at SMA Negeri 1 Glenmore for the academic year 2021/2022. The data collection instruments used in this study were validation sheets and pre-test and post-test sheets consisting of 5 questions. The results of the research on the development of learning media using Sparkol Videoscribe the subject of dynamic fluid discussions are categorized as valid or feasible, with the average results of expert and user validator tests reaching a validity level of 88.5%. This learning media is effectively used in teaching and learning activities in class XI because it is proven to increase student learning outcomes in the cognitive aspect with an N-gain value of 75% are included in the "high" category, so that the physics learning media using Sparkol Videoscribe produces valid learning videos. Based on the research results, the physics learning media using Sparkol Videoscribe is valid, effective and can be used as a tool in dynamic fluid learning.

Abstract

Problem-solving ability were the abilities that students needed because problems always existed in everyday life. In physics study, static fluid material was one of the materials related to everyday life that could make students think to solve the problem. The purpose of this research was identified the problem solving ability of high school students of static fluid materials based on the Taxonomy of Introductory Physics Problems. This research was included in qualitative descriptive research. The research methods used tests, interviews, and documentation. The test instrument used test description of problem solving abilities based on the Taxonomy of Introductory Physics Problems as many as 11 units. Research was conducted in three state schools in the suburbs of Jember disctrict with one class per school. The result of the research showed that students' problem solving ability of static fluid materials based on Taxonomy of Introductory Physics Problems at SMAN A at most levels with less categories while in SMAN B and SMAN C at most levels with very less categories.Key Word: Problem Solving Ability, Static Fluid, Taxonomy of Introductory Physics Problems

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to describe the misconception that students on the geometricoptics use a Four-Tier Diagnostic Test in SMAN 1 Cluring. The population in thisresearch is the entire class XI in SMAN 1 Cluring. The selected samples for research area class of XI MIPA2, XI MIPA 3, and XI MIPA 4 which is selected using the method ofpurposive sampling area. Data collection methods used in this research is a method ofdocumentation and tests. The instruments used multiple choice diagnostic test shaped fourlevel. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion can be known that overallmisconception that students on the subject of geometric optics in SMAN 1 Cluring of37.62% so this qualifies a misconception to medium levels.Keywords: Misconception, Four-Tier Diagnostic Test, Geometric Optics
