Abstract

This research is a quantitative research which aim to determine the effect of Treffinger learning model on mathematical concept understanding of grade XI MIPA students in senior high school. Population of the research is grade XI MIPA students in one of national school in Majene. One of the class chosen as sample by using cluster random sampling. The data analyzed by descriptive analysis and inferential analysis techniques. Results of descriptive analysis are: (1) students’ average score of pretest in low category and students’ average score of posttest in high category, (2) normalized gain’s average score in medium category. Results of the inferential analysis are: (1) students’ posttest score significantly pass the minimum completeness score; (2) there is significant increasing in mathematical concept understanding test after the application of Treffinge learning model; (3)Amount of students that reach the minimum score of test significantly pass the presentation of learning completeness criteria. Based on the research result we can conclude that the implementation of Treffinger learning model give an effect on mathematical concept understanding in the topic sequence and seriesof grade XI MIPA students in senior high school.

Abstract

This research applies problembased learning(PBL)with deductive-inductive approach to the course of ordinary differential equation (PDB). This study aims to apply problem-based learning steps involving the student's deductive-inductive thinking approach, applying the teaching materials of PDB involving the student's deductive-inductive thinking approach, but it is also expected that these teaching materials can maximize the deductive-inductive thinking approach, and help students improve their way of thinking, based on the material characteristics of PDB.The research method used is classroom action research, to maximize the deductive-inductive thinking ability of the students. As the paradigm of class action research, the implementation of this research includes planning activities, actions, observation and cyclic reflection, the implementation is divided into two cycles, the first cycle is for two months or seven meetings, and the second cycle is also for two months or seven meetings in the Semester Academic Year 2016/2017, which amounted to 30 students, at Mathematics Department FMIPA UNM Makassar.The results of the first cycle of this study show that problem-based learning with deductive-inductive approaches helps a lot of students, even though at first the students still seem unwilling to apply how their mindset in learning and solving problems. After being given some strengthening, in the following weeks the interaction of learning progressed significantly. Learning scenarios and teaching materials as guidelines for the implementation of lecturing activities, in line with the tendency of the student's deductive-inductive thinking approach. In the second cycle, it shows that improving student’s interpretation of PDB problems, which solved by using deductive-inductive approach, progressing, methods of solving problems made by the students getting better,the results of this study also show that there is improvement of student achievement in PDB, there are 21 students get satisfactory and very satisfactory value, while unsatisfactory value is only 9.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital menuntut guru untuk mampu menciptakan pembelajaran yang inovatif melalui pemanfaatan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Namun, masih banyak guru yang belum memiliki keterampilan dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis web secara mandiri. Kegiatan pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam membuat media pembelajaran berbasis web menggunakan aplikasi Construct 3 di UPT SPF SMP Negeri 26 Makassar. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan metode pelatihan, demonstrasi, praktik mandiri, diskusi, dan evaluasi melalui angket. Peserta kegiatan berjumlah 23 orang guru mata pelajaran. Materi pelatihan meliputi pengenalan aplikasi Construct 3, penggunaan fitur dasar, pembuatan elemen media pembelajaran, serta praktik pengembangan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis web. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa guru memberikan respon positif terhadap pelaksanaan pelatihan. Guru menilai materi yang diberikan mudah dipahami, praktik langsung membantu dalam memahami penggunaan aplikasi, serta pendampingan selama kegiatan sangat membantu proses pembelajaran. Selain itu, guru menunjukkan antusiasme dan ketertarikan untuk menerapkan media pembelajaran berbasis web dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kompetensi digital guru serta mendorong terciptanya pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif, menarik, dan inovatif. Dengan demikian, pelatihan penggunaan Construct 3 dapat menjadi salah satu upaya dalam mendukung pengembangan pembelajaran berbasis teknologi di sekolah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan Japanese Multiplication Method (JAMED) dan Lattice Multiplication dalam model Problem Based Learning (PBL), mendeskripsikan pemahaman konsep perkalian bilangan bulat siswa setelah pembelajaran, serta menganalisis perbedaan hasil antara kedua metode. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Anggeraja semester genap tahun ajaran 2025/2026. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik cluster random sampling, yaitu kelas VII A sebagai eksperimen 1 (JAMED) dan kelas VII B sebagai eksperimen 2 (Lattice Multiplication), masing-masing berjumlah 25 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes posttest berbentuk uraian, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan angket respon siswa. Analisis data meliputi statistik deskriptif, uji Shapiro-Wilk, uji Levene, dan independent samples t-test dengan bantuan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata posttest kelas JAMED sebesar 66,00 (kategori sedang) dan kelas Lattice Multiplication sebesar 74,60 (kategori tinggi). Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran pada kedua kelas berada pada kategori sangat baik, masing-masing 96,28% dan 96,08%. Uji hipotesis menghasilkan t = -2,115, df = 48, dan Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,040 < 0,05, sehingga terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil kedua kelompok. Persentase ketuntasan berdasarkan KKM 73 adalah 28,00% pada kelas JAMED dan 56,00% pada kelas Lattice Multiplication. Walaupun capaian tes kelas Lattice lebih tinggi, respon siswa terhadap JAMED lebih positif dengan rata-rata skor angket 43,04 (kategori tinggi), dibandingkan Lattice 38,80 (kategori sedang).

Abstract

This research investigates the instructional strategies employed by English teachers to develop students' speaking proficiency at SMP Negeri 2 Pangkajene. Specifically, the investigation highlights the practical application of these methods, the primary obstacles encountered, and the solutions formulated to address them. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, the study involved three English educators as participants. Data were gathered via classroom observations alongside semi-structured interviews, which were subsequently examined employing the interactive analysis framework by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2014). The results demonstrated that the teachers utilized a variety of techniques, such as supplying language input, ensuring student comprehension, delivering constructive feedback, facilitating speaking exercises, and actively guiding students during tasks. Conversely, the main difficulties faced were students' restricted vocabulary, low self-esteem, anxiety regarding errors, and diverse levels of oral competence. To resolve these issues, the educators motivated the students, adapted the learning activities, and offered supplementary guidance along with extra practice. Ultimately, the study concludes that effective teaching strategies are vital in enhancing both students' speaking capabilities and their confidence in communicating.

Abstract

This research aims to explore students' strategies for strengthening English self-efficacy in integrated English learning from the perspective of Bandura's Four Sources of Self-Efficacy. It employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and classroom observations involving nine eleventh-grade students at SMAN 2 Makassar. The findings revealed that students employed various strategies reflecting the four sources of self-efficacy, including gaining successful learning experiences, learning from peers, seeking encouragement and feedback, and managing anxiety during English learning. Among these strategies, mastery experiences emerged as the most frequently reported source for strengthening students' English self-efficacy. These findings indicate that students actively develop their English self-efficacy through various learning experiences that can be interpreted through Bandura's theoretical framework.
