Abstract

Bullying in the school environment is an issue that has a significant impact on students' mental health and academic achievement. This study aims to analyze how bullying affects students' academic achievement and the factors that contribute to its impact. Using a descriptive qualitative method based on a literature study, this research found that students who experience bullying tend to experience stress, anxiety and depression, which hinder their concentration, motivation and engagement in the learning process. In addition, an unsafe school environment due to bullying can reduce the quality of social interactions and increase the risk of dropping out of school. To address these issues, prevention strategies involving educators, parents and stricter school policies are needed. Teachers play a role in creating a positive learning environment, while family support helps victims in emotional recovery. In addition, the integration of anti-bullying programs in the curriculum and increasing students' awareness of the impact of bullying are important steps in building a safer school environment that supports academic achievement.

Abstract

Innovation in social studies learning is essential to improve students' social participation.  With the times and the increasing complexity of social issues, social studies learning should adopt new approaches that can help students understand social issues and be more involved in social activities.  One such innovation is the use of more interactive learning approaches, such as project-based learning, case studies, and group discussions, as well as the use of digital technology to connect theoretical and applied knowledge.  In addition to gaining knowledge about social issues, this innovation teaches students to think critically, work together, and act as agents of change in society. It is expected that learning that focuses on social experiences, both inside and outside the classroom, can enhance students' sense of social responsibility and encourage them to engage more actively and productively in social activities. This article emphasizes the important role of educators in creating a learning environment that encourages students to be actively and productively involved in their social lives. The goal of this learning is to produce a generation that is more socially aware, caring, and plays an active role in society.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how technology functions in social studies learning and how technology affects students' awareness of world issues. This study was conducted through a qualitative approach with a case study as its design. The results showed that the use of technology, such as e-learning platforms, social media, and learning applications, significantly increased student engagement in social studies learning. Technology also gives students access to more information about global issues, such as international conflicts, climate change, and social injustice. Thus, students are trained to have analytical thinking skills and are able to understand the relationship between international events and everyday life. By increasing awareness of global issues, it is hoped that students can foster a sense of empathy, social responsibility, and play an active role in solving global challenges. This study found that the use of technology in social studies learning not only improves students' academic understanding but also makes them more involved in global issues as well as more sensitive and understanding in responding to global challenges.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is an approach that adapts the learning process to the needs, interests, and abilities of each student so that they can learn optimally according to their own style and pace. This approach aims to create a more meaningful learning experience, allowing each student to develop their potential to the fullest, and building an inclusive and equitable environment where all learners have the same opportunity to thrive. With a more dynamic learning atmosphere, students feel valued and supported in their academic journey. To implement differentiated learning effectively, teachers must have the skills to identify individual student needs, design flexible learning strategies, and create teaching materials that can be accessed and understood by all students. With this approach, the effectiveness of learning increases, while encouraging students to be more active, confident, and independent in exploring knowledge.

Abstract

The humanistic approach in social studies learning emphasizes holistic student development, including cognitive, emotional and social aspects. This article aims to examine the application of this approach in social studies learning as well as its benefits and challenges. The method used is a literature study by analyzing various relevant academic sources. The results show that the humanistic approach is able to increase learning motivation, student engagement, and critical thinking skills, helping students understand social issues more deeply and fostering empathy. The teacher acts as a facilitator who creates a learning environment that supports students' exploration and freedom of thought. However, the implementation of this approach faces several challenges, such as limited teacher understanding, limited time in the curriculum, and difficulties in evaluating learning outcomes that are more oriented towards affective and social aspects. Therefore, effective implementation strategies are needed, such as teacher training, project-based learning approaches and integration of humanistic values in the curriculum. With the right strategy, this approach can create a more meaningful and relevant learning experience for students and help them develop independent, critical and caring characters for their social environment
