The policy IPAS (science and social studies) is a new phenomenon in education. This study aims to determine the implementation and considerations of teachers in carrying out IPAS learning. This research involved fourth-grade teachers at an elementary school in Bandung City. The method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. The instruments used are interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman technique. The results showed that the teacher's efforts to plan, use the elements, and determine the plot specifically in IPAS learning with consideration to the student's needs, the effectiveness and efficiency of time, facilities and infrastructure, suitability of materials and elements, there are the differences felt by the teacher in the form of challenges as well as solutions that found. In conclusion, science learning is not a thematic or integrated learning process, but linked or connected because of some of the material in the book and the flow of learning objectives where science is more dominant and social studies is a support, and vice versa. These findings can be utilized as a reference and consideration in making policies and implementing science learning for other schools.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low cognitive learning outcomes of some students in thematic learning. An alternative learning method for students' low cognitive learning outcomes is to apply an open ended learning model assisted by the mentimeter application. This research aims to determine the average difference in cognitive learning outcomes of class VI students in thematic learning using an open ended learning model assisted by the mentimeter application and image media. The population of this study were all class VI students at SDN Sapan for the 2022/2023 academic year. The samples taken were class VI A and class VI B using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques are carried out using tests and observations. The data analysis technique uses an independent t-test with a significance level of 5% with the hypothesis that there is a difference in the average increase in cognitive learning outcomes between students who follow the open ended learning model assisted by the mentimeter application and students who follow the open ended learning model assisted by image media. The research results obtained: Cognitive learning results before and after implementing the open ended learning model assisted by the mentimeter application improved. Cognitive learning outcomes before and after implementing the open ended learning model assisted by image media did not improve. There is no difference in the average increase in cognitive learning outcomes between students who follow the open ended learning model assisted by the mentimeter application and students who follow the open ended learning model assisted by image media.

Abstract

Abstract When the Covid C-19 Pandemic hit the world, all museums in various parts of the world were closed, including the National Education Museum of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI National Education Museum). This paper aims to explore how the UPI National Education Museum metamorphosed, and passed the pandemic period by continuing to provide services to the academic community, in its function as a learning resource and edutourism-based sustainable education space. Through a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques in the form of documentation studies and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with inductive analysis, it was found that the UPI National Education Museum in addition to carrying out its functions in the fields of education, research and recreation, also expanded it towards triple helix cooperation, involving the private sector / DUDI (Business and Industry World). To be able to carry out its mission, the UPI National Education Museum must change its status from an ordinary unit to an autonomous unit.  This research recommendation by the university policy holders (UPI) is used as one of the academic texts in deciding the UPI National Museum to be the only unit in UPI that is autonomous with flexibility in presenting programs from outside, especially in collaboration with the private sector, known as triple helix. This means that the UPI National Museum has followed the trend of world museums, which carry out re-imagine and recovery movements when Covid C-19 begins to subside.

Abstract

Decision making is a very important ability possessed by individuals at this time, especially in solving socio-scientific issues. The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends regarding socio-scientific issue-based decision making in elementary schools by conducting a bibliometric analysis of bibliographic data on technical research articles indexed by Google Scholar by combining analysis in terms of bibliometric map distribution using VOS viewer software. The research data was obtained from Google Scholar database through the Publish or Perish reference management application. The data filtering process was carried out based on the keywords "decision making and socio-scientific issues" contained in the topic, title, keywords, and abstract domains. The tracing was carried out on articles published from 2006 to 2022. From the search results obtained 23 relevant articles. The results showed that research on decision making based on socio-scientific issues was mostly carried out in 2010 and 2014. Research on decision making based on socio-scientific issues was rarely carried out at the elementary school level. So, it can be concluded that the opportunity for developing research regarding decision-making based on socio-scientific issues at the elementary school level is very large. Therefore, it is hoped that this study can provide references and considerations in seeking further research fields, especially those related to decision-making based on socio-scientific issues in elementary schools.

The diversity that exists in Indonesia is a problem such as conflict, violent discrimination both in the community and in education. Building a harmony in diversity requires the cultivation of values that uphold equality, respect differences, anti-discrimination and so on. One of them is through multicultural education which is integrated in subjects such as sociology subjects. In order for the learning objectives to be achieved, it is necessary to use an appropriate learning model to instill multicultural values. The purpose of this paper is to provide new ideas about the harmonization construct through the IBK (Group Learning Interaction) learning model based on multicultural education. The method used in this paper is the literature review method. The result of this writing is that the instilling of multicultural values in schools is integrated in every subject. One of them is sociology subjects through the IBK learning model, where teachers from planning, implementing to evaluation will be adjusted to multicultural values. The conclusion of this paper is that the harmonization construction using the multicultural-based IBK (Group Learning Interaction) model is expected to be able to instill multicultural values so that harmony will be built, and harmony in diversity starting from the school environment whose output will have an impact on the wider community. This IBK learning model emphasizes interaction activities in a study group which consists of various individuals from different backgrounds in order to complete learning tasks together through critical discussion to solve problems and find solutions by upholding the values of democracy, humanism, nationalism, equality and tolerance. Therefore, educators need to do it through the process of planning, implementing and evaluating learning.
