Abstract

Capital budgeting decisions are inherently exposed to uncertainty due to fluctuating economic conditions and imperfect cash flow projections. Inaccurate investment evaluation may lead to significant financial losses and inefficient allocation of organizational resources. This study aims to analyze the role of risk assessment in capital budgeting decisions by applying sensitivity analysis and scenario analysis as complementary evaluation tools. Using a descriptive-analytical approach supported by numerical illustrations, this study examines how changes in key financial variables such as selling price, sales volume, production costs, and discount rates affect project feasibility indicators, particularly Net Present Value (NPV). The findings demonstrate that sensitivity analysis is effective in identifying critical variables with the highest impact on project outcomes, while scenario analysis provides a more comprehensive view of project resilience under varying economic conditions. The study concludes that integrating both methods enhances decision quality, supports proactive risk management, and improves long-term investment sustainability.

Abstract

Abstract

The growth of coffee shops in the city of Bandung encourages brand competition that not only focuses on product quality but also on the ability to convey sustainability values to consumers. Work Unusual is a coffee shop that has implemented environmentally friendly practices, but the level of consumer green brand awareness is still relatively low due to the limitations of the communication media used. This research aims to design sustainable merchandise as a physical communication medium to optimize green brand awareness at Work Unusual. The method used is design thinking with the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing. The design focuses on the development of merchandise in the form of laptop sleeves made of vegan leather based on coffee grounds with the application of interlocking and quilting techniques. The results of the research are in the form of a laptop sleeve prototype that has functional, aesthetic, and sustainability values, and is considered capable of nonverbally representing Work Unusual’s environmental commitment. The conclusion of the study shows that sustainable merchandise design has the potential to be an effective visual communication strategy in supporting the optimization of green brand awareness in sustainability-based coffee shops.

Abstract

This study addresses the increasing competition in Indonesia's coffee shop industry, where brand identity and sustainability values play a crucial role in building consumer awareness. Work Unusual, a coffee shop that has implemented various sustainability initiatives, faces challenges in communicating these values consistently through its visual media. This research aims to design an apron made of vegan leather from coffee grounds as a product medium to optimize green brand awareness at Work Unusual. A descriptive qualitative approach with a design thinking framework was employed, involving the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Data were collected through observation, interviews with staff and visitors, questionnaires, and literature studies. The findings reveal that aprons, as staff attributes used in direct customer interactions, hold strategic potential as a visual medium for conveying sustainability values. The use of coffee-grounds-based vegan leather supports material sustainability and circular economy principles while reinforcing brand identity. The apron design successfully integrates function, aesthetics, and eco-friendly values, enhancing consumer perceptions of Work Unusual’s sustainability commitment. This study concludes that sustainable aprons can effectively support the optimization of green brand awareness in coffee shop environments.

Abstract

The division of marital property often presents a complex legal dilemma. Greater judicial evaluation usually considers acquisition timing, sources, and separation agreements. Nevertheless, the recent Indonesian jurisprudence, especially the Supreme Court Circular Letter (SEMA) No. 1/2022 and Cassation Decision No. 377 K/Ag/2023 (5 April 2023), requires the introduction of the principle of the best interests of a child, as stipulated in the Child Protection Act, to the adjudication of marital property. This study adopts a qualitative documentary analysis that draws upon primary legal sources, including statutes, circular letters, and court decisions, and is supplemented by secondary academic literature. The analysis demonstrates how normative rules and jurisprudence integrate the child’s best interest into post-divorce asset allocation. The results indicate that a child’s welfare has become a necessary pillar in judicial reasoning, influencing courts to postpone the distribution of marital assets until children reach adulthood. This normative and jurisprudential shift highlights not only legal enforcement but also substantive justice, ensuring children’s decent living conditions. This research contributes by elucidating the legal significance of Decision 377 K/Ag/2023, which reinforces the role of the best interests principle in Indonesian family law and advances a progressive approach to the adjudication of marital disputes.

Abstract

The integration of macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic representations remains a major challenge in chemistry education, particularly when teaching abstract concepts such as electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions. This study aimed to investigate the implementation of the Assessment for Learning (AfL) approach and examine its effectiveness in improving students’ conceptual understanding of this topic. A pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest–posttest design was conducted involving 36 eleventh-grade students from a public senior high school in Surabaya. Data were collected using a validated 12-item conceptual understanding test and analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and N-gain analysis. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, with the mean score increasing from 43.26 in the pretest to 89.72 in the posttest. The Wilcoxon test produced an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Furthermore, the N-gain analysis revealed that 91.67% of students achieved a high category of improvement in conceptual understanding. These findings demonstrate that the systematic implementation of AfL strategies clarifying learning objectives, facilitating productive classroom discussions supported by student activity sheets, providing continuous formative feedback, and activating students as owners of their learning effectively supports students in connecting different levels of chemical representation. This study suggests that integrating formative assessment into classroom instruction can help teachers identify and address students’ misconceptions during the learning process, thereby promoting deeper conceptual understanding in chemistry education.
