Abstract

The manufacturing sector in Indonesia, particularly in the automotive cable and component industry, is facing significant challenges, as reflected in the declining Purchasing Manager’s Index (PMI), indicating a contraction in production activities. To remain competitive, managing production process quality becomes essential, especially in improving supply chain performance. This study examines the application of Six Sigma in the copper busbar production process at PT. X, focusing on reducing supply chain costs through enhanced process quality management and waste reduction. Using the DMAIC approach (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), this research analyzes copper busbar production data, including defect rates and associated costs before and after improvements. The results show that Six Sigma implementation successfully reduced defect rates, particularly scratch defects, from 7.32% to 0.01%. Additionally, this improvement contributed to a reduction in supply chain costs, with total savings amounting to IDR 3,421,168,671, covering reductions in manufacturing, administration, warehouse, and capital costs. These findings demonstrate that Six Sigma can significantly enhance efficiency and effectiveness in copper busbar production, while positively impacting overall supply chain costs. The study also recommends further research to more thoroughly explore distribution and installation costs in the supply chain context.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of work flexibility, digital leadership, and work-life balance on employee commitment, with mental well-being as a mediating variable. This study was conducted on BTN Bank employees in KC Bangkalan Regency using a quantitative approach. Data was collected through questionnaires from 50 respondents and analysed using regression tests and Sobel Test to test the mediation effect. The results showed that work flexibility, digital leadership, and work-life balance have a positive and significant influence on mental well-being. In addition, mental well-being has a significant influence on employee commitment and mediates the relationship between the three independent variables and employee commitment. Digital leadership provides the largest mediating effect compared to work flexibility and work-life balance, confirming the importance of the leader's role in supporting employees' mental well-being in the era of digital transformation. The findings imply that Bank BTN can improve employee commitment by implementing work flexibility policies, supporting work-life balance, and strengthening digital leadership competencies. This research also contributes to the human resource management literature by offering a new perspective in supporting employees' mental well-being as a strategic factor in increasing organisational loyalty.

Abstract

In the development of digitalization, online shopping is the main choice for consumers, especially generation Z in Surabaya City. However, online purchasing decisions are still influenced by several factors such as perceived risk, trust, price, and consumer attitudes. Therefore, it is important to understand the influence of these factors on online purchase intentions in this generation. This study aims to analyze the effect of Perceived Risk, Trust, and Price on Online Purchase Intention with Attitude as an intervening variable in generation Z in Surabaya City. This research uses quantitative methods with purposive random sampling techniques. The sample consisted of 100 Gen Z respondents in Surabaya City. The data was collected using a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, and analyzed using IBM SPSS STATISTIK 25 path analysis. The results showed that Perceived Risk, Trust, and Price have a significant effect on Online Purchase Intention directly or indirectly through Attitude as an intervening variable. Consumer trust plays an important role in strengthening positive attitudes towards online shopping, while perceived risk has a negative effect on purchase intention. Consumer attitudes play an important role in mediating the influence of Perceived Risk, Trust, and Price on Gen Z online purchase intentions. Increasing trust and decreasing perceived risk can increase Gen Z's intention to make online purchases.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between workload and turnover intention among logistics employees at PT. Wahana Lintas Nusantara, as well as to examine the role of work-life balance as a mediator in this relationship. The sample consists of 150 employees working in the company's logistics department. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test the relationships between variables, considering both direct and indirect effects. The results show that workload has a positive and significant effect on turnover intention (path coefficient = 0.45, p < 0.05), indicating that the higher the workload, the greater the likelihood of employees intending to leave the job. Furthermore, work-life balance was found to serve as a significant mediator in this relationship, with an indirect effect of 0.27 (p < 0.01). These findings suggest that an imbalance between work and personal life can exacerbate the negative impact of workload on turnover intention. Demographic factors, such as age and tenure, also influence turnover intention, with younger employees and those with shorter tenure being more likely to have higher turnover intentions. This study provides insights for companies to manage workload effectively and support work-life balance as strategies to improve employee retention and reduce turnover intention.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited attention given to workload dynamics and burnout adaptation strategies among employees of three-star hotels in Surabaya, particularly within a business-city context. The originality of this research lies in its focus on “organic adaptation strategies” that emerge naturally from employees’ social interactions rather than formal organizational systems. The objective of this study is to explore the dynamics of employee workload and identify the adaptation strategies used to mitigate burnout. A qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design was employed, using in-depth semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Informants were selected through purposive sampling from operational departments. The findings reveal that workload is fluctuative yet consistently high, driven by multitasking demands, limited human resources, and high service expectations. These conditions trigger burnout manifested in emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment. Employees respond through individual coping (e.g., prioritization and withdrawal) and social coping (e.g., teamwork and humor), with social strategies proving more effective in sustaining resilience. The study implies that hotel management should integrate psychological well-being into operational policies and formalize informal adaptive practices to create a more sustainable and human-centered work environment.
